Momma4alex’s adventures in surprising my man….

Hello everyone, Well today i spent 6 hours working on rearranging my room to how I want it. All i have left is to finish organizing the extra stuff that got put into my closet today and then making my bed after i finish washing the stuff for it. but it was quite the workout considering i was moving everything around in my room which means a full dresser and a chest that was fully loaded plus watching my 3 year old so that he didn't get in the way or get into stuff that i moved around since he loves to get into my drawers and stuff. anyways hope everyone had a great day.

Food: breakfast: peach, pear and a few pieces of pineapple shake. Very yummy.

Lunch: Slim-fast High Protein meal on the go bar

Dinner tuna sandwich w/1.5 tablespoons mixed in the tuna. and strawberry/banana yogurt

Snack: celery sticks with pb on them.

Exercise: rearranging my bedroom for 6 hours and then weights today but will list those later on tonight.

Lol rearannging a room I spen 2 and 1/2 hours just sorting and rearranging
my kids clothes that are in tub's and bags and the dresser and that is
only the ones in my bedroom I still have about 2 tubs and 4 garbage bags
downstairs to go through from last years school clothes I am telling ya their clothes is a 2 week thing lol haha.Have a gr8 night Tammy
 
oh my tammy you sure have your work cut out for you as far as clothes go. LOL I actually think alex sometimes has more clothes then me but then he grows out of his so much faster then i do mine.. He's in a 5t and some regular 5's now and is only 3 years old. Most of the time its cause they are too short for him. He's about 42-45 inches tall and weighs 40 lbs so he's going to be a tall one. he's about half my height already i hope he doesn't out grow me before he's like 12 or 13.. lol anyways talk to you later gotta get the munchkin his bath as he's demanding it.. so will be back later when i update with my exercise besides cleaning this room of mine. hahah

Wow my son is 6 and wears a 4-5 my prob is he is getting taller but I swear the kid has NO ass haha like hid dad.My oldest is 9 and wears a 12-14 and keeps growing lol boobs already to grrrr.
My son thats 6 weighs exactly 40 lbs lol out of 4 kids I see my daughter kind of following in my footsteps I was xhubby as a child then it only got worse I try to get my ids to eat the 100 cal snacks and popsicles ect but granny spoils them lol.

Ah, don't you love bath time? That's one of my favorite things with my neice. She's so cute spashing in the bubbles.
 
Hi amber, and tammy. Yes bath time is always a blast specially when he likes to get in and out of the tub.. so i am constantly having to remind him that water stays in the tub not on the floor. since part of our bathroom for some unknown reason has carpet in it.. the only part that is tile is the floor right by the bathtub and toliet. its really annoying. lol :) anyways the time has kinda flown by today. i can't believe its already 8pm.. lol but i guess that can happen when you sleep until 10am instead of waking up at 8am when i had planned on it. I forgot to set the alarm last night as i fell asleep with ds instead of getting in my workout last night after working on my room i was exhausted. anyways today's food:

1 cup: frosted mini wheats w/ 1/2 cup 1% milk
snack: 6 mini celery sticks 2 tbsp peanut butter and a plum
Lunch: nonthing as i wasn't hungry
Dinner: turkey sandwich w/ slice of lowfat cheese and 1 tsp mayo and half a thing of string cheese as alex at the other half and then 2 cups of salad with 2 tbsp of fat free ranch dressing.

not sure on total cals and stuff yet as i haven't added it up
Exercise: 60 minutes of cardio and some strength training to make up for yesterday's workout.
 
OK Right now I am so pissed at myself... I sat and played on the computer while alex was napping for 4 hours instead of doing my cardio and workout while he was sleeping so now i have to wait until he goes to bed to do my cardio but i am going to get in my weights and crunches right now. Ugh why oh why did i do that. i am so crazy stupid computer won tonight over my exercise ahh.. ok well going to go do some weights and crunches since i gotta get some type of workout in.
 
Ok well i forced myself to do 3 sets of 15 for biceps and triceps last night before i went to bed. so i did get in some exercise but other then that I was pretty off but then i remembered a reason why i didn't feel like doing anything. I didn't take my meds at all yesterday. Today i felt 100% better but then again i also remembered to take my meds. Anyways go got 1 mile walk in and then my arms and legs got a workout by having to carry a 5 gallon bottle of water from my car into my house today so that was my weights for today. Tomorrow i know i originally was thinking about using it as a rest day for the week but I think i'm going to try to do at least 30 minutes of cardio and 15-20 minutes of weights since i slacked off yesterday and then part of today. well hope everyone is having a great weekend.

my food for today and yesterday was pretty good as far as cals. a little on the low side but since i really didn't work out that much its not bad.

Ok i have a question for all of you that read my diary? do you think my calories are too low for my height/weight for losing weight safely? i am currently eating between 1200-1500cals a day and am 5'1" tall and weigh 248.4 lbs as of monday 8-20-07. I had a lady on another forum tell me that i should be eating 2100-2350 for my height and to lose weight but that to me sounds like way to much? what do you all think? ok thanks for answering when you get a chance. i'm hardly ever feel a hunger pang unless i wait to long between meals like if i eat breakfast at 10am then don't eat lunch until 2 or 3pm then i will start to feel a little hungry but usually i don't wait that long between meals as i try to have a snack between breakfast and lunch and then between lunch and dinner. Ok well i'm heading to bed so i'll check back to see what you all think in the morning. hope you all have a great weekend.

You're doing really great with your food and exercise. Alex seems like he's gonna be a really tall man.

As for your calories I'm not sure... from what I've realized the most here is that everyone needs to figure out exactly what works for them. There is no this person who is this height and weight needs to eat this much. There are just what is suggested for those heights and works for many. To get a proper answer you could post the question in the harsh truth section and you should be able to get a good solid answer.

I agree with Boam. I think the calculations are just guidelines, but I know my personal trainer recommended to me to eat about 2000 cal/day if I exercise. Well, if I do that, I don't lose a thing.
I need to keep my calories under 1400 + exercise off 750cal/ day resulting 1.8 lb loss per week.
That said, you can experiment with different things until you figure out what works for you. It took me a couple of months to figure it out. I tried 1000 cal food(too low, now I know), no exercise = did not work, tried 1200 cal, some exercise = lost like 0.3 lbs/week.....etc you get the idea.
Also my trainer in the gym told me I would have a harder time to lose weight because of being vegetarian, going healthy(since I am already eating healthy) is not a shock to my body to start losing. I don't know if I agree with that, but I know if I don't exercise just watch what I eat, I don't lose a single oz.
I know it did not help too much , just keep experimenting, it is a trial end error and you will find the best way that your body responds to.

Thanks Jenna and Hajni, I agree with both of you and so far this seems to be working for me so I think i'm going to keep using it until it doesn't work anymore. The girl did say she was sorry this morning after doing a project of her own to see if someone my height and weight and with my timeframe for my goal should be eating the amount of cals it said i was and she said that she was really surprised that it would tell me to eat that low of an amount but like you guys she said if it works for me to keep doing it.

anyways getting ready to do cardio now that alex is napping and most of my chores are done for the day. hope you all have a great sunday. see you later
when i update how many cals i burned since today's food hasn't been that great.. lol
 
Back on track this morning

Ok well this weekend wasn't as good as I had hoped to be. Saturday was a pretty good day as far as things go foodwise. Sunday we had a friend's b-day to shop for as their party was later that evening and then another friends is friday so we were out all day shopping so foodwise wasn't very good or healthy. anyways i'm back on track now that its monday and I am home with alex all day long.

Weigh in today was 246.2which is down 2.2 lbs since last monday. So I have 1.2 lbs left to try to lose between now and Sept 1. when the halloween challenge starts. I"m really hoping to weigh 245 when the challenge starts. Food for today is listed below:

breakfast: strawberry/banana shake

2 ice cubes, 10 oz of strawberry/banana yogurt, 1 cup sliced strawberries, 1cup sliced banana and 1/4 cup- 1% milk. mixed in blender until all mixed in. (makes 2.5 cups)

Lunch: Probably a turkey sandwich on wheat bread(no mayo this time,trying to get used to mustard but may not use that either) and a small plum

Dinner: Lean Pork chops and small salad with cabbage, carrots, Iceburg lettuce and grape tomatoes, and maybe some celery.

water: 10-12 cups

Exercise: 45-60 minutes of cardio and 15-20 minutes of weights. I may also take a walk later tonight once it gets cooler.

I got my full plan of cardio in today during alex's nap.. woohoo :jump: I did 60 minutes of cardio for a total of 617 calories burned and am planning on doing some strength training exercises and abs tonight after he goes to bed as i'm going to try to get him into bed before 10pm tonight.. haha wish me luck on that one. since lately he hasn't been going to bed before 10:30 everynight and sometimes later then that. :doh: anyways I feel great although very sweaty, lol i am very happy that I got my full amount of cardio in before he woke up.

Well he's now wanting something to drink and I'm hungry as I haven't had lunch yet so I'll be back later to update what I do for strength training exercises and how much. :rotflmao:

I don't know what I would do if my DD would stay up that late!! her bedtime is 8-8.30 and that is even late for me on some days...LOl
