Marsia's Diary

When I first went to therapy I wrote down all the things that I might bring up & my therapist asked to have a look at my list. I was so embarrassed, but it sure gave her a good idea where I was coming from. It still makes me feel a bit teary thinking about it. She was so good.
That is excellent that you came away from your therapy leaving lots of stress behind & well done on not eating any of those keto muffins outside your eating window. That's discipline!

I guess the keto carrot cake muffins will still be around today? Or at least one, hopefully!

About singing - on Wednesday, I was hampered by the number of songs I knew the first verse or chorus too, but not the whole thing. I was reduced at one point to just making up words that fitted the general tenor of the song (and of course fitted the music) which wasn't very satisfactory. :ambivalence:
So today, I'm going to sing one song all through over lunchtime, and hope that that way I can get to know the words properly. Wish me luck!

What I used to do when I wanted to learn new lyrics was write them down neatly. Not type, write. That really helped my brain.

I just came from therapy, and I feel about 25 pounds of stress out of the stress backpack!
That's awesome :grouphug:

I really like the look of those onion rings . Must try them sometimes .do you think you could make without the porkrinds .

Good you are destressing Marsia . Helps with everything.

Hey Marsia, I have been on vacation since you started regular posting and am now trying to catch up.

I don't have an air fryer, but after all the good comments I have seen here am thinking of getting one. The obstacle is my wife, she does not want another piece of kitchen thing cluttering up the counter, particularly one she is skeptical we will use. I understand her point, and she can rightly point to a number of such things I have purchased. Perhaps I will start talking about how much people here like air fryers and slowly work up to suggesting we get one. I think it would get used. The onion rings sound particularly good, I really like and miss onion rings, since going on my diet I have eaten only 1/2 of one a few months ago. The fact that I remember shows that I do miss them. Your recipe sounds like an onion ring I could eat.

I like your expression "25 pounds of stress out of the stress backpack!". I will have to remember that one.

Its good to have you back.

I had the image of a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis when reading your diary, Marsia. I nearly didn't share that, but thought, what the heck. It's lovely seeing you emptying that stress backpack hon :grouphug:

Thanks for the panko tip . I have used them before .
oh I would be interested in hearing about parasite . It’s sub titled isn’t it ?

That's so good, about the stress backpack getting lighter. :D Maybe soon it'll slip off altogether!
I'd never sing for an audience - at least, not as a "real" singer, only when it's friends taking turns at dinners and things, and even then my throat seems to tighten up, and I don't sing nearly as well as when I'm more relaxed.

That's a good tip, @LaMaria - I cut-and-pasted the lyrics, but yes, I think they would get into my brain better if I wrote them out by hand.

I don't want to die with regrets. I need to get back to viewing life as a big adventure, with lots of healthy food and exercise in it!
It is your turn, hon. What a year you have had & what a beautiful kind-hearted person you are. Your Mum was very lucky. I’m sending you so much love :grouphug:
I have missed you in here. I am looking forward to following your adventures xoxo

Hi Marsia I am so sorry to hear about your mum . I think of you often and hoped you were ok .I resonate with the taking caring of yourself first I need to do that too . Hugs

How wonderful to hear from you :grouphug: I'm sorry to hear about your mom but the regret you won't have is that you didn't give her the best care you humanly could. It really is time for you now, and that includes posting only in your own diary if that's what you need. I look forward to hearing about all your creative endeavors again.

Those dastardly deer! I agree that gardenfresh produce is normally way better than store-bought, but winter veg at least tends to be ok either way. Did you know that the Victorians used horse manure to heat their greenhouses? That stuff has to ferment for several years before being good for gardening, and in the meantime it gives off heat just like a compost piles so they'd often have a row of raised beds in the greenhouse with manure underneath. Not practical when space is at a premium, but I had to mention it anyway :newangel:

Hi, hon. Pesky, pesky deer. We eat a lot of venison & had venison lasagne last night.
I would love to have a little camper too & might start checking them out again soon. I love having you back xo

Hi Marsia there are great you tube videos I believe on converting camper vans and it's getting popular here too . Sounds like good fun times ahead for you . How are your husband and daughter doing now ?

:iagree: with LaMa. That was so descriptive. I'm glad that we get to share your re-emergence from that grey purgatory. You deserve a happy life xoxo
