Marsia's Diary

Cate, the house you looked at is on a wonderful rural island next to the most interesting coastal city - funny it is in the same area I am researching, and is pretty much what we want! It'll be a few years before we can consider moving, but we'll have really gorgeous areas to explore on vacation now.
That's funny. It just caught my eye.
:grouphug: for facing your scary feelings xo

I do think it's scary to look at the upset feelings especially, but I think they are being upset because they aren't heard and are trying to get our attention. From what I am studying, we short-circuit the healing process by ignoring scary and uncomfortable feelings, and often that leads to anxiety and depression and for me overeating, too.
Very well put.
Ok, just came in to grab my little chainsaw
Your "little chainsaw" makes me laugh every time. Makes me picture a lady in full make-up, a pencil skirt, and stilettos, picking up a very stylish chainsaw to attack old rose overgrowth.

it's mainly because my fasting window ends right when J wants to eat his big meal of the day, and I haven't had the willpower to cook and not eat the meal, so I break my fast and eat too many calories.
Would it be helpful so move your eating window? Or would that deprive you of a meal that´s important to you? Sounds like you were VERY active today!

What is the contractor doing that requires you to move stones, M? Sounds like a very active day.

So fixing it up feels much better now that the focus is on making life nicer instead of on emergency fixes.
That sounds like a very helpful way of framing it. Much more pleasant! Also: you are so not a wimp, whether you go out into the cold or. Many people could not have done what you´ve done for your mom.

It sounds a bit like you're an archeologist delving into the past of an unknown people. My dad has started putting names/descriptions on old pfotos to avoid information being lost and I'm so thankful for that.
Also: splurging a little three times a year should really not be a problem for any eating system.

I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving, Marsia even though you felt sad without your Mum. I'm sure that your Mum would have been very grateful that she had such a caring daughter, even if she may not have shown you that in her final years. I hope you can sort out everything you need to without too much stress. It must be interesting, although frustrating I'm sure. Take care of yourself, hon xo

I agree with pretty much everything up there, but do be careful that "live your best life" doesn't become stressful in itself. It's 100% ok to have amsome off days and not be parabungeesurvivaldiving around the world all the time. Your best life doesn't have to be picture perfect.

Procrastination is such a weird phenomenon: you want to reduce your stress levels and in the end it's one of the most stressful things I know. I'm definitely a work in progress there...

And it doesn't matter if anyone else finds my pursuits interesting or fun - it's just up to me to do what makes me a better, happier person.
I love this.
Your best life doesn't have to be picture perfect.
:iagree: with LaMa on this one. Don't put pressure on yourself to "Live your best life", just start making changes & prioritising your health & happiness more & worrying less. You are as important as anyone else in this world :grouphug:

I can't stand chickpea pasta (don't much like chickpeas anyway, that probably doesn't help) but it IS a practical way of upping the protein. I like your goals!
