Lucy's Fit Life (Contains large amounts of nut butter and coffee)

Hey guys, dropping in quickly before my walk!! Quick catch up...

Friday I was pretty meh food wise, we were both so tired and had woken up at 3:30am (damn jet lag!) and my whole body was screaming FOOD (TOM started today so guessing that wouldn't have helped either). Ate 2900 cals. Oops. However I did get in a decent walk, HRM says I burned 200cals in 40mins which is better than nothing! Also I was pretty busy all day. Got to have nephew cuddles, he's so teeny!!

The wedding was yesterday! I got up and went for a walk, went a different way and HRM said 277cals in 55mins. Got my hair done which took 4 hours (had my colour done, a cut and then had it styled) then I spent about an hour doing my makeup, got dressed and we were off! Here's me and the husband.... Ate ok yesterday, wouldn't have gone over maintenance. Ate a couple of teeny chicken breast skewers and a glass of wine before we were seated, then I skipped the entrée and my main was a chicken breast stuffed with swiss cheese, wrapped in prosciutto and covered in a butter sauce. It was GOOD! Some broccolini too, there was polenta on my plate but ew haha. I had a few coke zeroes and that was me done! They had a lolly buffet which I kept well away from and wasn't hungry or anything. A bit bleh this morning from the wine, makes me feel a bit yuck (yea, and I only had one haha!) Was a good night anyway.

Going to stick to the 1600cals I was aiming for for the rest of this week- so 4 days to go!

Finally home. The flight home is much shorter which made today with travel a little easier than the other day. Already so tired, I have gym in the morning too at 7:30. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep and the jet lag won't get me too much!

Food won't be great as we have to grocery shop tomorrow night. Ooo, found the most amazing product in a health food store while I was away too: It's a drink you make in a French press like coffee only it's the most amazing hot chocolate. It has the same acidity and bitterness as coffee but it's cocoa! I drink it black and unsweetened and it tastes like the most amazing dark chocolate!!
 
Hey Lucy.....I am so happy you had a good time.....That chocolat sounds amazing....wonder if they have that around here!!! Good job and good luck getting back in the routine!
 
Thanks Vero... pretty tired this morning. I think gym might be a bit painful.

Not looking forward to going back to work either, they keep cutting my hours and now I'm not doing the compulsory training I was supposed to do in Brisbane next week because someone else needs a day off (which sucks as I have no way to get to Brisbane by myself!) It's becoming more complicated than I wanted it to be having a job. All good, planning on going full time at uni on campus next year so I think I'll start claiming Austudy, might not work at all or if I decide to keep working it won't be an issue if I only get work 1 day a week. Guess I'll see what happens!
 
Ended up being a bit ill today, my stomach was really upset for a few hours. Had to leave class halfway through as I'd been to the toilet twice and didn't want to have to keep getting up during class. Urgh. Bit better now but I ended up being pretty angry at being at home and ate too much.

Also pretty sure I'm about to be fired from my job, my training was cancelled before I went on holidays and I checked my roster online and all my shifts for next month are gone... So when I go back in on Thu it'll be 2 weeks from my last shift and that's all the notice they need to give me. So a crappy day today.

I got some baking and playing in the kitchen done tonight, I'm experimenting with a yogurt maker I bought AGES ago and am attempting a coconut milk/almond milk yogurt. Will leave it all night and then see how it is after a few hours in the fridge tomorrow, I'm a bit excited. Also made a loaf of bread which is made with just peanut butter, eggs, vinegar and baking powder. I made it at my mums place and it's pretty amazing! Then I made a hazelnut choc fudge which is chilling in the fridge right now. After tomorrow I'm going to be going dairy free a while again, I am just having too many stomach issues and I still think it might be the dairy. After seeing that nutritionist months ago I think she made me add it back in too quickly. I have a few bits left in the fridge that I'm going to eat tomorrow then after that it's weigh day... then I can see if dairy has been holding me back too.

Hey I am sorry to hear about the job....last year I was very upset about my contract not being renewed but after seing all the drama that is going on there I am very happy not to be there anymore!!1 Hopefully you either find something you love doing or end up going to school full time!!! May the best happend and I forgot to mention in my previous post,,,,,you are looking amazing in those pics...love it!!! Keep up the good work!
 
Thanks guys. To be honest the job is so incredibly boring as we are so quiet and I'm not the best salesperson, I think I'm being fired though as when I was employed I wasn't a student and they need someone available to work on Tue/Wed occasionally. They have in the past 2 months rostered me on 3 Tuesdays and I've had to remind them that I can't do it, think me saying no to Tue last week was the last straw as it was after that I was taken off training and my hours were removed. Thought then they were just changing my hours around but it hasn't changed in over a week, oh well. I've already started applying for other jobs. I work tomorrow so just going to accept it gracefully, not really a job I'd even bother fighting for lol. I still have 3 pay cycles left (6 weeks) to get a job and I'm pretty confident that's plenty of time.

Gym was good this morning, I dead lifted 60kgs today! Managed 2 sets of 6 (after doing a warm up set of 15 on 40kgs, then a set of 12 on 50kgs). Yay me!

Wow so I've been pretty busy today, got some grocery shopping done this morning then got to work in the kitchen. The thickener I used in that yogurt I made yesterday (gelatine) didn't really work, my yogurt separated and I ended up with a yogurt drink haha. Making more today with xanthan gum and it's working a lot better!! (I have a glass yogurt maker so I can see it hasn't separated and all the little bubbles from the probiotics, pretty cool!) Also made a non-dairy cheese block with macadamia nuts, and a non-dairy cheese sauce I plan to use on meat/veges/as mayo etc for the week. Think I'm going to try to aim for non-dairy for 3 months as last time it was only a month. Hoping all the bloating and stomach issues will be mostly gone! Got a heap of vitamins today too that I ordered last week, just Vit D, B, C, magnesium, potassium, chromium, and milk thistle. A lot of it I got to help my husband as he has a heap of problems and doesn't really eat right at all. The potassium and Vit C I know I'm lacking in for sure! See how I go I guess. Going to start taking my L-carnitine and L-glutamine again too, I was taking it up until we moved. Super determined to heal my gut and lose this weight!

Aiming for 1700 calories every day now with one over-feeding day of 2200, thinking of making that on Monday as Tue mornings I have leg day and will need the extra! Pretty cool, means I can either eat an entire homemade pizza for dinner that night or have a 500cal serve of dessert.

Today is our 4 year wedding anniversary! Husband woke me up at 5. 45 am and he had fixed the screen on my laptop and bought me 2 PS3 games I've wanted to play forever. We actually weren't supposed to be doing gifts so I didn't get him anything... doh! Will probably go out for dinner to celebrate properly next week.

I'm in so much pain from deadlifts yesterday, after that 4 day break my DOMS are so bad. Have full force leg ones right now too so I feel like a cripple! I have chest and abs today, abs might be a no-go but we'll see! Got that awkward convo at work that I know is coming too. Argh. Never been fired before lol.

Oh my yogurt- put too much thickener in there and now I have little yogurt panna cottas lol. It's yummy though! I'll get it right soon.
 
Well so today I didn't get fired- apparently there was a bit of drama while I was away, one of the other guys had to take 3 weeks off straight away so there was only the two of them working so the boss was two weeks behind on rosters. He removed everyone's rostered shifts from Nov as he had to redo them all and hadn't done them yet. This did kind of make me realise how much I don't really want to be working there anymore though.

Was a bit bad tonight, ate all my food then got into my last few Quest bars. Ate around 2300 cals today so I'll count this as my overfeeding day this week and do better the rest I guess! There's dairy in the Quest bars too, least they're gone now.

I'm so tired, I was pretty stressed today too so I think that's why the overeating tonight. I WILL have an amazing week this week!! Really want to see 68 point something by the end of the month.

I'm glad to hear you aren't getting fired! Even though you know you don't want to be there, at least you will still have a job and pay cheque while you look for something better. Plus you won't just at the first half decent job, you can hopefully take the time to find something that will be much better and that you will hopefully enjoy.

Sucks about the overeating, but glad you have a good attitude about it! And yes, it's great that those evil Quest bars are now gone, now you just have to stay strong when shopping and not purchase any more :)

Today started off pretty terribly- I almost got wiped out by a car on the way home from the gym! It was rainy last night and this morning so the roads were wet. I was walking up a hill (on a footpath along a main road) approaching a corner when a giant 4WD spun around the corner and did a giant 360 and came straight over the footpath toward me. I jumped into oncoming traffic to get out of the way- I couldn't go backward as that's the direction it was heading and couldn't go the opposite direction as there was a fence there. No idea how another car didn't run me down, it was peak hour on a main road. Her car ended up wedged on a partial brick wall and knocked down part of the fence, she was ok. I got home and had a meltdown, so glad my husband had the day off work so he calmed me down. I still went to work but had the worst headache all day! So glad no one was hurt. Argh, can't stop thinking about it though!

Work was shitty and boring. Left an hour early as we had nothing to do. I have to work 10-2 tomorrow too to cover someones lunch break. Pretty over that place now.

I'm pretty happy that car didn't get me!! I like being one piece and not many!

Just got back from the gym, I was pretty mean to myself today. Including the 20mins walk there and back my HRM read 477cals burned and I was only at the gym around 30mins. Did 20mins on the bike- 5mins warm up, 10mins intervals, 5mins recovery. Then I crawled over to the elliptical but couldn't do much, even at a slow steady pace on a low level I was exhausted and my HR was going well over 170bpm (so it wasn't just in my head!) so I managed 5mins. Then I did abs as I hadn't done them this week with the PT, then stretched and walked home.

Ended up having a bit of a feast after that, had my breakfast then 5 almond meal crackers and a teeny bit of non-dairy cheese. I won't be able to eat my lunch till around 2.30 when I get home from work so I'm ok with that. Cals will be around 1900 today but carbs are within my goal limit as is my protein so I'm happy!

Hmm, somehow I missed updating yesterday! Was an ok day, I didn't do my fasted walk but I did walk later on. Also had an extra snack which took me up to 2000cals which I'm ok with. This morning I got up and went for a 1hr walk before breakfast, HRM said I burned 277cals.

I have work today 10-4.30 then I'll be doing some uni stuff as I was super lazy yesterday. Didn't get ANYTHING I should have been doing done. Instead I procrastinated by cleaning the house haha... vacuumed, mopped, and was all set to wash the windows but couldn't find our squeegee. So I'll try and get my online units done tonight and get some study in tomorrow morning before class.

Ohhhhh man had the roughest workout this morning!! Legs day is always hard but this one got me good, haha! I was wearing my HRM (though I know it's way out for weight lifting calories, I do it out of genuine interest of my heart rate during exercise) Anyway, it had some ridiculous reading of close to 600cals. My heart rate was pretty mental though, after my workout I chilled out and had a big gentle stretch for 5mins and my heart rate was still 145bpm afterward. The walk home was a tough one today, urgh. Going to be so sore tomorrow.

Not much going on today, I have class smack bang in the middle of my day so food is lots of snacks spread all over the place. After that I plan on catching up on a few of my online classes, then grocery shopping tonight after dinner when my husband gets home from work. I might already be sore by then, always dread back day after legs too as I KNOW we'll be deadlifting and my legs are going to be protesting something cruel!

I've found that my heart rate spikes much higher on legs resistance training than any other. Even similar levels of exertions for core and triceps don't seem to have the same heart rate spike. Don't know why that is. But I can feel my heart pounding doing legs, so I know it's not an artifact of the monitor.

If you want an alternate calorie burn total, you can use this formula on this site. I think it's probably a little more accurate:
 
Yea I know doing legs pretty much guarantees a bigger burn and higher heart rate than other body parts as its such a large muscle group. I've just read a lot on how heart rate isn't an accurate picture of calories burned during weight training as HR monitors are designed to track aerobic fitness, not anaerobic. So it tends to blow out with weight training. I did check out the link you posted, haha the numbers for calories burned came in even higher!
