Lucy's Fit Life (Contains large amounts of nut butter and coffee)

69.7kg on the scales today. Had only 2 really good days this week which makes me think that cutting out dairy is working, wasn't expecting a loss at all. I accidentally weighed in today thinking it was Thursday (oops) but then logged onto FB to someone saying that it's 9 weeks till Christmas... so I'm setting a goal for then!! I'm going to put everything I have into being 65kg by Christmas day, it's only a half kg a week and I'm pretty determined to make it happen. I've got a pretty detailed plan drawn up to make sure I'm shaking it up, so we'll see if it gets the weight going!!!

My butt is killing me today by the way, not looking forward to deadlifts this morning at all!!

Survived my workout. Chiropractor was pretty crappy, it was a different guy filling in for my usual who was sick. He had a lot of problems getting my neck and back to crack and I left pretty sore. Grrr. Had a lazy morning for the rest, my lunch was AWESOME though. I ended up turning it into a dairy free bacon carbonara, nom nom. Got uni in a few minutes now, sooo can't be bothered!

Oh, I have a job interview Friday!! I am working that day but I moved my shift forward an hour (I just said I had an appt I couldn't change) so that's Fri arvo at 3.30pm. I'll be in a bit of a rush on Fri morning though as PT is still at 7.30 so I won't have much time to get ready for work now.

Food plan for tomorrow

S Homemade coconut and almond milk yogurt
B 2 pieces peanut butter toast, 2 poached eggs, bacon
S 2 almond meal crackers with homemade dairy free cheese
L Leftover dairy free carbonara
S Homemade choc peanut flour cake with strawberry almond milk ice-crean
D Leftover roast beef and broccoli

Exercise 20mins walking to gym and back, 30mins PT (chest day)

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by and posting in my weight loss diary. I'm sorry I didn't see it yesterday. Still really learning my way around the forum. I see you know a lot about nutrition and cooking. I can learn from you, I know very little about either.

I hope we both reach our goals by the end of this year too. We can do it!

Happy you get to leave the job on you own term...that is way better for self esteem !!!! Good Luck on friday

Well... I got fired today. I mean I had stopped expecting it then it happened lol. Boss just said they were told they had to cut someone, me and one other guy were hired last and he had better sales. I wasn't even that worried, said I'd been expecting it and that I was off to a job interview. He said he'd give me an awesome reference if I needed it so that's good!! Think the interview went well, it's a bit hard to judge with a group interview but I guess I'll know soon enough!

Had a perfect food day, yay! Having a pretty awesome food week so far. Did pretty well at the gym this morning too, 4 sets of 8 shoulder presses at 20kgs. It hurt a lot haha. No plans for tomorrow, was going to do my uni stuff but now I don't have to work on Monday so going to chill out with the husband tomorrow and catch up on Sun/Mon.

Food plan for tomorrow

B 2 eggs on peanut butter bread with smoked salmon and nut cheese sauce
S 2 almond meal crackers with dairy free cheese
L Leftover dairy free carbonara
S Choc peanut flour cake with almond meal ice-cream
D Leftover salad with cauliflower, egg, salami, cabbage, homemade mayo

Exercise Fasted cardio- if it's raining I'll go to the gym, if it's not I'll go for a bike ride. Aiming for around 300cals on the HRM.

Hey Lucy sucks about the job....but it more like you got cut not fired!!! Plus you where bored with it so.....off to better and bigger things! Peanut butter bread...yum!!!! Great job on the work outs!!!

Yea I figured it was going to happen... Hopefully I get this job! Will make my life so much easier.

Haven't been the greatest with calories today, combo of sitting at home and chilling out I think. Ate 2132, exercised extra to make up for some of it though. Went for a bike ride this morning and burned 290cals according to my HRM, then went for a walk this afternoon, 255 on the HRM. Also walked to the shop and back to get some groceries, so I've been fairly active today.

OK- tomorrow I will stop putting off the uni work, going to get through all of it. It's going to happen!!! That'll take most of the day though. Want to get back on track with the food the next 3 days though, really want to see a loss come Wednesday!! COME ON 69.2 lol.

Food plan for tomorrow IF day- 2 meals, one at 9am one at 3pm

Meal one Coconut and almond milk ice-cream with egg white protein, topped with macadamia nut butter and desiccated coconut
Meal two Pizza! A whole one! On a protein base, topped with mushroom, onion, smoked salmon, fresh basil, dried herbs, garlic, and homemade swiss non-dairy cheese.

Exercise Fasted cardio- 45min bike ride

Didn't go for a bike ride this morning- I woke up soooo early (5.30am, BOO!) so I thought I'd do something that took up a little more time. Went for a walk, did my usual 1hr route but made it a bit harder on myself... At the beginning of my walk I ran up and down the huge staircase at the bridge underpass twice, along my walk when I was almost halfway I stopped at several different benches and did step ups, sets of 12 one leg at a time until I had stopped at 4 benches, then when I was almost home I ran up and down that staircase again 3 times. I was really surprised at how much it affected my heart rate/ calorie burn according to my HRM. Walking that route normally I would burn between 250-270cals in exactly 1hr, this morning I did 358cals in 1:02. I think I must've been walking faster than usual too because my stopping definitely would've been more than 2 mins extra! Moved my meals forward an hour too because I woke up so early. So first meal was at exactly 8am and my next one will be at 2pm.

Yea so it's 10am and I haven't started studying yet, I'm going to be soon though! Decided I'd update my journal then shower, do the dishes, make a coffee then get stuck into it. I have planned all next weeks meals now though based on what food we have, looking forward to food this week!!!

Fingers crossed I hear about that job this week too!

Food plan for tomorrow

B Homemade English muffin, 2 hard poached eggs, 100g bacon
S Homemade uncheese and bacon muffin
L 200g coconut milk yogurt with macadamia nut butter and desiccated coconut
S 2 hard boiled eggs
D 2 sausages, 2 celery sticks with ABC butter

Exercise 1hr fasted walk

Yeah it's good to get the old heart rate moving however possible. That's why I like the mountain hiking: you still get to walk, but it's uphill so it does the trick in getting your heart rate up.

You still doing the swimming?

Hey MrVee- Haven't swum for a while now. It was a lot easier when we had a swimming pool at our house, now we've moved we don't and my gym is only one of those little 24hr convenience places so no pool there. I'm enjoying riding my bike and the parks here though, SUCH a nice change from the desert!!

-

Confession time- IF is NOT for me. I was fine until I got to my afternoon meal- I had eaten the majority of the pizza and was super full, ended up throwing some away as it felt a lot like a binge... then an hour later I went nuts. The only thing I can think is that it was too much protein at once and it triggered a blood sugar spike- I ended up eating A LOT. 3664cals and 62g carb. I think it was also my fault that I didn't spread the two meals more evenly, but I don't think I'm game enough to try again for a while. Yesterday wasn't the greatest day either, ended at around 3200 calories. I did exercise both those days so that's something! Not going to weigh in till Friday as that's the 1st of the new month, hoping any fluid I'm retaining will be gone by then!

After all that food I went up a whole 20kgs on my leg press this morning- managed 140kgs for 3 sets of 8. Hurt like a bitch but I got there! Also many lunges were done this morning, plus a few other painful bits n pieces. It was another wobbly walk home from the gym (I have a real love/hate relationship with legs day). Felt good, I'm not really that ashamed of my couple of bad days, I know I was a bit stressed about losing my job. Talked about it with my PT, just because people like my husband just don't understand a binge and my PT openly talks about it a lot (she does comps and is pretty prone to bingeing). Eh, it happens, it could have been a lot worse, I didn't eat any bad foods or go crazy high carb. I felt better after confessing it, just going to get this fluid out of my system and smash the next few days. Really want to reign in the food next month, would love to lose more than a few hundred grams a week!

I spent a lot of yesterday in the kitchen (happens when I'm stressed, it calms me) and decided to make a chocolate pudding for breakfast this morning. I did it with the agar again and expected to have to blend it last night for this morning- it magically turned into choclate mousse. I was expecting it to be a solid block but instead it was a thick and air bubble filled mousse! I don't think I wrote down what I did but I'll try to remember... It only had a few ingredients in it, I was just so surprised!

Food plan for today (Aiming to get a good day in! I need it!)

S (Pre workout) Homemade coconut milk yogurt, choc fudge cookie (actually pretty healthy, it just sounds bad haha)
B Fluke mousse, a leftover sausage
1st lunch (Before uni) 2 pieces protein bread with grilled Swiss uncheese
2nd lunch (after uni) Salad with tomato, lettuce, cucumber, tahini and MCT oil, leftover sausage
D Thai red curry- Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, chicken breast, red curry paste, coconut milk, shirataki noodles
S Homemade coffee almond milk ice-cream

Exercise 20mins walk to gym and back, 30mins PT (leg day), 20mins walk to uni and back

So today I did pretty ok. I ate a bit extra than I would have liked, however also did extra exercise (and got sunburnt, oops!) Gym this morning was rough, the first 20mins of the session was just deadlifts (got a new PR of 70kgs!!) Was pretty brutal, I'm going to be sore tomorrow. Already really sore from legs yesterday, I think I'll be old-lady crippled tomorrow!

Finished my last uni class today, we have 2 'study weeks' now then exams. Yikes.

So todays food ended up at around 2200 cals, exercise was 20mins walk to the gym and back, 30mins PT, a 50min walk to the park (and I have super red shoulders now, grrr), and 30mins walking to the post office, then uni and back. So I've been pretty active! Also went out with Wade this morning and bought a Christmas tree, yay! Can't believe it's only a couple months away.

Food plan for tomorrow

S (pre workout) Homemade coconut milk yogurt
B Vanilla pudding, 20g macadamia nut butter
S Leftover sausage
L Leftover Thai red chicken curry
S 2 celery sticks, 20g ABC butter
D 2 pieces protein toast with grilled non-dairy cheese, chicken and tomato
S Homemade almond milk ice-cream

Total calories 1756

Exercise 20mins walk to the gym and back, 30mins PT, possibly will walk to the park again

I really want to mix it up the coming month. Friday I'm weighing in, going to give up all baked goods except for protein bread and try to snack on things like eggs/nuts/celery and nut butter etc instead of reaching for sweet stuff. Also going to aim to cut out that dessert I have most nights (even though it's just almond milk and stevia!) I want to have dessert as maybe a once a week habit on overfeeding day when I can go all out and then be really 'clean' I guess during the week. I'll see how I go, really want to start making better habits and seriously cut down on replacements for food I used to love, even if they are healthier. Trying to create new habits!!

Urgh, was really hoping I would've heard back about that job by now. Guessing it's a no go? Keeping my fingers crossed still. Applied for another job today.

Good gym day again today, new bench press PR of 37.5kgs, wooo! I'm on fire this week, new PR every day!

Going to weigh in tomorrow, got to stop putting it off. I know I'm not going to like what I see, retaining fluid like crazy for no apparent reason. So bloated! Have eaten pretty well the last few days too so not sure what's causing it.

Food plan for tomorrow

S (pre workout) 1 hard boiled egg, 20g macadamia nuts
B Homemade yogurt, homemade nut cereal
S Protein bread with 1/2 avocado
L Leftover curry
S 2 celery sticks with 20g ABC spread
D Beef and bacon meatloaf and salad

Exercise 20mins walking, 30mins PT (shoulders and arms), 1hr walk

Kind of annoyed this morning, didn't get the chance to weigh in as my husband was getting ready for work, took ages and by the time he was out of the bathroom I had already eaten and was heading to the gym. Will weigh in tomorrow before heading out for a bike ride! I did take measurements though and my waist is smaller this month so that's a good sign.

Haven't really been up to much today, I had gym this morning then dropped my stuff off at home and stepped out again straight away for a walk. Went for 55mins, actually felt hungry when I got home which doesn't happen often (after exercise I mean). My breakfast was really good too, going to keep that as my 'go to' during the week I think. When I got back from my walk I put together a meatloaf and stuck it in the slow cooker, I'm excited as it smells sooo good! I added bacon to it as my husband likes really lean beef but it makes for a dry meatloaf- thought adding some fat in the way of bacon would be a good idea! Also cooked half a cauliflower and 'riced' it in the food processor and added that in- both for extra moisture and to make the servings look bigger, haha! Just did 2 uni online units, now I'm CHILLIN. Actually a bit sleepy which surprises me, had an awesome sleep last night. Went to bed just after 9pm and woke up at 6am, yew! I've upped the amount of magnesium at night (for non-sleep related reasons) and I'm sleeping a lot better as an awesome side-effect.

Thinking I might play some of 'The last of us' for the rest of the afternoon! I've had a bit of a job hunt already today and there's nothing new I can apply for. Also trying to figure out what I want to do as a dessert on my first over-feeding day on Mon, I'm thinking I'll make a tiramisu-type thing! YUM!

Food plan for tomorrow

B 2 pieces of protein cinnamon bread made into French toast (soaking it in coconut milk and egg then frying it), served with homemade coconut milk yogurt
S 1 hardboiled egg with 1/2 avocado (I slice them up, salt n pepper it and eat it with a fork. So good)
L BLT- Homemade protein roll with bacon, non-dairy cheese, tomato, lettuce, tahini and mustard
S 2 celery sticks with 20g ABC spread
D Leftover bacon and beef meatloaf with salad

Exercise Fasted bike ride (40ish mins), 1hr walk

I was 69.7kg today, still feeling bloaty/fluidy so maybe I did actually lose weight in the last week that I haven't seen on the scale yet? Oh well, will just wait for next week! Smashed out a solid cardio session this morning, walked to the gym and did 20mins HIIT on the bike followed by 5mins speedwalking on a high incline on the treadmill (legs weren't cooperating much so only lasted 5mins!). Wasn't a fasted workout though, I woke up painfully starving at 5am (really weird) so I ate my yogurt then went back to bed for a bit before going to the gym. After I walked home and made the most amaaaazing breakfast!

View attachment 21519

It's this cinnamon proten bread: (I made it with egg white protein) I soaked it in 70ml coconut milk, 1 egg and some vanilla then cooked it in the frypan. Topped it with some more coconut milk yogurt, ommmmm nom nom. Was so awesome, best brekki I've had in ages!! The hunger trend continued today though, ate both my morning and afternoon tea at around 10am and then husband and I went out. Ended up staying out and decided to watch a movie at 12.30, I was totally starving when we sat down though so I ducked out to the supermarket and as quickly as I could grabbed something- got ham and babybels lol. I'm pretty angry I ended up eating dairy as I'll probably be bloaty for a few days now but I knew if I grabbed nuts I'd eat the whole bag. When we got home I went for a walk to grab something I forgot from the shop so that was another 30mins exercise. Had early dinner after that, made BLT's. I did mine in one of my coconut flour protein rolls, was SOOO good. After that I didn't feel hungry for the first time all day! Still don't which is good. Ended the day on 1990 cals. Tomorrow is supposed to be a lighter calorie day/ rest day, will see how I go. Supposed to be 1700cals, I'm happy if I eat under 1800.

Not much else happening, applied for a couple more jobs last night so have my fingers crossed. Tomorrow I might do some more uni work and get some study going- I have 2 weeks to understand all the shit we did in chem before my exam, I have a lot to learn. Eep.

Food plan for tomorrow

B 2 eggs, leftover meatloaf, 1/2 avocado
S Pepita butter protein bar
L Leftovers from the fridge all come together in a dish (lol): sausage, cabbage, shirataki noodles, curry paste, coconut milk
S 2 celery sticks with 20g ABC spread
D Leftover meatloaf and salad

Total calories 1702

Exercise Rest day, just going for a 1hr fasted walk first thing

Good work on the exercise, the scale will come as long as you stick to the plan. That "french toast" like breakfast looks awfully good. My french toast never seems to turn out right.

One of the things that has made me hesitant to give people advice after my success is that it seems like I haven't had some of the problems others routinely have, and I'm not sure why. I guess I'm just lucky. For example, it's 16 months now and I've had exactly zero problems with unwanted hunger. I've been hungry a few times, but that's only been in situations where it was time to eat and for whatever reason I hadn't done so yet.

And I don't want to jump to conclusions and say that is due to my eating plan or the types of foods I eat, because it could just as easily be due to something specifically about me that wouldn't apply to other people.

MrVee- I'm not sure if it was from the extra cardio or what, it felt crazy being that hungry! Well, I felt crazy being that hungry! Usually if I keep fat really high I don't have a problem. Oh well, doing ok now anyway!

So today was supposed to be a lighter day, ended up eating 1900. Still ok with that, burned an extra 100cals than planned this morning. Went for my walk but did the little extra bits I did the other day, ran up and down the stairs by the bridge 3x at the beginning of my walk and 3x and the end. Also did one lot of step ups in the middle. I had runkeeper going on my phone and my HRM at the same time- there was only a 2 calorie difference in measured burn! 331 and 333 cals. Thought that was pretty cool!

Tomorrow is overfeed day, I've made a tiramisu for dessert (grain and dairy free) no idea how it'll turn out though. The cream part was waaaay more liquidy than I had planned but I used it anyway so my sponge fingers were floating and probably soaked up a crazy amount of it. I think it's set quite firm though, hopefully tomorrow I can just flip it so the lady fingers are at the botom again and I'll dust it with cocoa etc. Hoping it's good, I made a 4 serve one in case it is and I can give some to the husband. Otherwise I'll be cutting it in 4 and freezing it for future over-feed desserts (unless it tastes crappy, I don't think it will though!)

This week I plan to study study study, and hopefully squeeze a few job interiews in. Going to keep my phone on me all day tomorrow!!

Food plan for tomorrow Overfeed day

B homemade yogurt, homeade nut cereal, 2 hardboiled eggs
S Protein bread with macadamia nut butter
L Leftover curry
S 1/2 avocado and 2 hardboiled eggs
D 100g roast chicken with skin, cauli-mash
S Homemade tiramisu

Exercise 1hr fasted walk

It's Monday. Woo. Doesn't mean much to me being unemployed, hopefully that'll change pretty quickly in the coming weeks!! Had a discussion with the husband RE finances, he said he is happy to pay my share of rent AND my PT (I can pay it this fortnight, my last pay). Hopefully it won't take longer than that to get a job, I know he'd keep paying it until I get one but it would mean we probably wouldn't have Christmas. And we wouldn't be able to go anywhere or do anything after food shopping! Ahh, hope I get phone calls today.

Structuring my day a little too- going to get up and do the dishes soon, then shower... then I've got 3 uni online units to do and an assignment to look at, I want to clean the house, and I want to sort out a schedule of sorts to get all the chem study in that I need. Think that's my whole day gone and then some! I'm not too stressed about cleaning the house, study has to be the priority... Just stuck that in there because I know I'll need a break, may as well be productive.

I've been up and walking, did my fasted cardio. HRM says I burned 315cals in 1hr, Runkeeper on my phone says I walked 6.4kms in that hour (4mph speed) so I'm pretty happy with that! Runkeeper had a way higher calorie count than the HRM today, I actually stick with what Fitday says as it usually estimates 20-30cals below my HRM.

Food plan for tomorrow (Not a thrilling food day but grocery shopping tomorrow night)

S (Pre workout) 1 hardboiled egg, 20g raw macadamias
B Homemade coconut milk yogurt, nut mix
S Piece of protein bread, 1/2 avocado
L Leftover curry
S Pepita seed butter bar
D 100g leftover roast chicken, cauli-mash

Hey Lucy!! Yay! Good to see you here!! Seems like we are totally in the same boat - looking for a job! I really hope something comes along SOOOON(er rather than later)
I am loving your website!! & spreading the good news - haha! As i said the banana breakfast cookies are on the menu an awful lot!!! Yum! Well, I look forward to supporting each other here!
Hugs x

Oh man job hunting sucks. Nothing new that I could see today, just fingers crossed hoping one of the places I've already applied for gets back to me I guess!!

Had a baaad food day today. 4200 cals, yikes!! More carbs than I would have liked too but not too bad. If I'm really good the rest of the week though I should still be able to have a loss, we shall see. Should still have around a 3000cal deficit for the week. Hoping to see something less than 69.7 lol, even 200g would make me happy as I can still get to my goal for this month then! Still, bit of an extreme overfeeding day. Oops. I know it's because I was studying and a bit stressed out. Really just need to structure my days better!
