Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Sounds like your scale is being as mean as mine is! Argh! I think you'll rebound quicker that I will though. :)

It's good you'll be taking some time off to rest, especially since you have a sore throat. I hope it does your body some good.

As for grocery shopping, stock up on fruits and veggies. I also have to get steak or chicken whenever I go. My two favorite protein sources! :)

Sore throat doesn't sound fun at all, lemon and honey drink also gargling salt water helps, I always mix a teaspoon of salt in a coffee mug and do at least 4 gargles, Tastes crap but it does help.

Shopping... Fruits, veg... Go for some grapefruit and carrots? :)

My staples- Broccoli and/or green beans, carrots, celery, snow peas, tomatoes, crackers(GF), low-fat tasty cheese, lean meat, ( mostly chicken) apples, kiwi fruit, mandarins (clementines), bananas.....Even in Winter I love to eat crackers with cheese/shaved ham, tomato or pickled zucchini. Yum!
PS.Plus a hot lemon drink, with a teaspoon of honey in it, before I go to bed, but I think I have to give that up to lose weight. I also love Peppermint tea ....low-fat yoghurt....

233 this morning.

This throat thing is the weirdest thing. No cold symptoms like runny nose, but it keeps coming and going. Feels better in the morning, gets worse in the evening and last night started causing my ears to feel clogged up. All sorts of weird.

No workout today (planned rest day). Going to try and do not much of anything and see if I can finally kick this thing. May have to go to the 'doc in the box' on Monday (or my regular doc if I can get in) and get a Strep test if this doesn't clear.

Possible, but I would think I'd have the stuffy/runny nose and sneezing, and I don't. Also a strange time of year for it to be a natural allergen around here.

Because it has pretty consistently gotten worse as the day goes on, I think I just need to rest; which suggests a minor infection of some sort.

Hi Mr Vee, hope the bug disappears soon. I had a laugh at your comment re the supermodels, the mansion & the peeling of grapes so had a look for a suitable photo. The peeling grapes ones were mostly boring but thought you might like the look of this cabin! Cheers, Cate

So what do you think that would run me? I'm willing to take out a mortgage for that.

I'm also getting stir crazy. I like to go outside and do things, and sitting here when I feel mostly fine (though my left ear makes funny noises when I clack my teeth) is getting to me.

The upside is I didn't used to feel this way. But now with the energy and the less feeling bad about my appearance I get antsy when I don't leave the house all day. I like to see what the rest of the world is up to from time to time.

Thought that would make you smile! I get stir crazy too & this rain is driving me crazy!
Hmmmm why are you clacking your teeth? :smilielol5:
It's good that you feel like getting out there more & more & feeling less bad about your appearance. Maybe you need to do some stocking up at Trader Joe's soon or maybe check out that dating site......you never know. What's the worst that can happen?

Sound like sinus infection or mild strep. I had strep once and every time I would swallow it felt like I got hit in the throat with a sledgehammer but I hear there are milder varieties. I got a shot of penicillin and it was gone in like 4 hours.

To go with my sickness, I've had substantial internet difficulty the last two days.

Went to the doc yesterday and she said I had a minor throat infection that went away but caused a more severe ear infection which has not gone away which caused a second throat infection. She gave me a scrip for some antibiotics the size of a horse pill and said that should take care of both infections. Feeling better today but my ear is a little clogged and my throat is scratchy from all the damage.

Had to replace my wireless card today. Internet just not working right. Got eight years out of it, so I think I got more than my money's worth. I now have a dual band jobby which can handle the multimedia band on my router. Superfast internet time!!

234 yesterday and 233 today. I wonder if there's some sort of water retention thing that goes with being sick. Don't know. But need to break this plateau. I've come too far to get bogged down in the 230s.

After two days without working out, heading back to personal training tonight (doc said it was fine if I felt good enough to go). I believe tonight is chest and back night, meaning lots of pushups and rows and other fun stuff like that. Must keep pushing as I intend to reach "peak sexy," or at least what passes for "peak sexy" for me.

Putting on my track pants and they very suddenly looked way too damned big on me. Got the MC Hammer look going again. Granted they are too big and have been for a while, but I hadn't really noticed until now. Guess I have to go buy more. These were cheap and lasted a while, so I guess I'll just go get more.

Well... sorry to hear about your internet troubles, but I'm happy to hear that you need to go out and buy some smaller clothes AND that you figured out what was going on with your throat. Hopefully with the meds you'll be back at 100% in no time. Take it easy tonight with your workout. I'm sure you're chomping at the bit, but you are still getting over a sickness. :)

I hope you feel better! I hate working out with a sore throat. Every breath is P..A...I...N.

Also, congrats on needing new track pants! That's awesome. :]

233 this morning. I think I'm finally starting to get this illness behind me.

But last night after personal training I was absolutely gassed. I had nothing in the tank and pushed through and was just obliterated when I got home. I don't think it was so much being sick (as I felt pretty good before), it was just the lack of stored up energy. Seven more days of horse pills after today, but I'm mostly over the infection right now.

Will eventually try and do a cardio workout today. Maybe do some incline walking and keep it relatively light, but still enough to work up a sweat. Really want to get past this little mini-plateau.

Those horse antibiotics will wreck your digestive track. Throw in some yogurt during and after those thing to avoid weight weirdess ala poopwreck.

I'm happy you're feeling better. The hammer pants should bring in the ladies. You should shave some lines into the side of your head for good measure. I called that 1990. Fortunately it embarrassed my mother so there are no pics.
