Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

235.5 today.

Going to the dentist for a check-up today and then the baseball game tonight. There's supposed to be thunderstorms around here, but the stadium has a retractable roof so the game won't be rained out regardless.

Heading to workout in about an hour or so.

Congrats on so much weight loss! You inspire me! I started out around 369 and am currently at around 330. I read the first few pages of this thread and thought 'wow, that's exactly how I feel put into words'. I am glad for what I have lost, but sometimes feel hopeless when it comes to the big picture. You are living proof it can happen!! congrats again and keep going strong! I have a feeling I will def be visiting more often for inspiration! =)

Welcome to my diary Emmy.

235 this morning again.

Heading to work out after I post this, but after that I have a whole bunch of work to get done. The high apparently will only reach 97 today, which around here is rare for August. Not cool enough for hiking though, which is a shame as I'd really like to go.

The date for dropping below 230, continues to project to be August 18, 11 days from today. I'm hoping to drop back down closer to 232 in the next four days or so.

Well you're back down a half pound. That's the right direction. It's been in the 100s lately, but it's still getting back down into the 70s at night which is unusual for here. normally it's humid and still in the mid 90s at night. It also usually starts hitting the 100s way before now so a mild summer this year still. It's due in part to the unusually windiness we've had. I just hope we avoid wildfires.

Stick to your guns and I bet you get a nice drop real soon. Drink lots of water then drink some more. It can't hurt.

Qeurcus is probably right. Water, water, water. The more I drink the less fluid I retain. As sure as night follows day, you will soon be <230! I will stop complaining about our Winter right now. I would hate to experience the extreme weather conditions you & Quercus do! OUCH! How did the trip to the dentist go? Are we going to see that big smile anytime soon? ;) Cheers xo Cate

I swear I was only here a few days ago and you were in the 240s... now you're halfway through the 230s!!!! You're a machine!!!!!!

You continue to impress. You still have time to get to the weight your model is showing so just keep on pressing. Sorry you're dealing with such high temps especially when you really want to just get out. When does your weather usually start getting cooler? We had a miserably hot and humid month last month, now it's been very cool. Odd we're having such a cool August. Normally it's sweltering!

234.5 this morning.

As yesterday went on I realized I was getting quite the sore throat. So yesterday and so far today I'm dealing with that. So far that's all it has been as I haven't had any other symptoms yet.

Usually the weather starts to cool off a little by the end of September, but it really doesn't start to become more conducive to outdoor activity until around mid October. That said, you can always take short walks at night without too much trouble. I'll take summers in Phoenix over winters in Chicago any day.

Trying to decide the proper course of action on the workout front today. Don't want to exacerbate a possible cold by working out, but I feel fine and I'd rather not take a day off. Decisions...

233 this morning. That's headed in the right direction now.

Wound up doing the full workout yesterday because I'm mental, but don't seem to be suffering from any ill-effects. I'm guessing this is a tonsillitis thing, because the other cold symptoms haven't shown up and it seems like it's already starting to go away.

Decided to go to Target and try on a pair of size 38 jeans just for laughs to see how far away I am. I actually got them on without too much struggle. They were pretty tight but not ridiculously tight. I might only be two weeks away from being able to wear them. But since I'm a little light on cash at the moment I didn't buy them.

Also, later yesterday, I hear a couple of loud booms and figured they were fireworks or a freight truck unloading or something. I go out to take a little evening walk, and find a whole bunch of people standing around in front of my complex. I investigate and in the parking lot of the hotel across the street, there's about three or four cars ENGULFED IN FLAMES! Like in a movie. The booms were tires popping. Soon after, the fire department was there and then the smoke pretty much forced everybody inside.

A pro tip for Phoenix: do not leave things like newspapers and flammable liquids in the front seat of your car if you park it uncovered in summer. The poor folks parked next to the car where it started are probably really unhappy right now.

Wow, that's always scary when cars burst into flames, seen that once before, didn't particularly care for it.

Good job on the exercise.

oh and nice quote in your sig!

Holy smokes, that's crazy about the cars.

I see you're still doing awesome, just as I expected. Great job on getting into the 38 jeans, even if they are a bit snug. I'm sure you'll be in them, comfortably, before you know it. You're like a weight loss machine!

Oh, and the new pics look great too! :)

Whoah! That is what I call hot! Well done on the weight moving back in the right direction Mr Vee!

Expert parking in Phoenix involves caring less about the distance you have to walk and more about whether there's a spot with some natural shade. You wouldn't believe how hot a steering wheel can get uncovered in the summer.

Had my first double personal training today. 55 minutes and he decided to do a leg workout. Painful. I'm rewarding myself with a steak for dinner. That should help rebuild the muscles.

234 this morning. Still trying to break this little mini-plateau.

Personal training in about an hour. Will be taking tomorrow off from workouts and maybe that will help me get over my sore throat.

EDIT: Trying to put together a grocery list with little success. Any suggestions?
