Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Thanks Vee. My digital is very precise, but not accurate (repeated weighings are within .2 pounds). I think it is 12 pounds lighter than the Dr.'s office scale though. It's not important all the time, but when medical equipment has a 300 pound limit knowing what you'll weigh at the office is important and it will make for better calculation of BF etc. I'll do some shopping. Thanks!

Q,

Mine has a 350 limit, and then came with counterweights which I think allowed you to go up to 425 if you needed. When I got it I was at around 360 (a little over a month after my start), so I used one of the counterweights for about a month before dropping below 350.

Brawny,

Yeah I've lost an exotic dancer at this point. As for the heat, no it's still just brutal hot. :) However any type of movement, whether in heat or not, is an entirely different experience. Words can't describe it.

Unfortunately I've now dropped below "Trader Joe's weight" and I'm not sure what to do now. We'll see if the women of Phoenix notice that I now weigh closer to 200 pounds than 300.

As promised, here's the driver's license photos comparison:

The one on the left is my driver's license photo from early 2007 . I actually have a file with one of my past failed weight loss attempts from right around then, and the file said 342 pounds. On the right is my new license photo from yesterday.

Well done Mr Vee. I'm glad that you care again. Looking good! Hope we see a smile soon. Cheers, Cate.

Certain things taste better in a restaurant (when I'm cooking anyway) and some taste better homemade. For me there's few things that have a bigger gap in the latter than a homemade hickory bacon cheeseburger. The stats:

1/3 pound Burger patty = 280 Calories
Slice o' Cheddar = 80 Calories
Two Strips o' Bacon = 90 Calories
Healthy Dollop o' BBQ Soss = 50 Calories
Two Slices o' French Bread = 160 Calories

Total = 660 Calories. It's really good when you slow cook the bacon about halfway done and then push off to sides and cook the burger in the same pan.

Have 80 calories worth of vegetables (tonight was green beans) and that's a dinner under 800 calories. Even if you added maybe 60 calories for the cooking process, you're still at 800.

Certainly not an everyday thing as health wise not the best food of all time, but as a Friday night treat once a month? I don't think it will hurt me, and it tastes like what heaven would taste like if it was made out of meat and cheese.

249 this morning again, but I'm expecting a little lower tomorrow. Big workout today.

247.5 Saturday morning. Let's go to the chart and model:

First thing is that business trips appear to bring with them a lot of challenges. Those last two significant above the line blips were the two business trips, one just recently and the other the first week of March. I don't think it _has_ to be that way, so in the future I'll try a little harder to balance my diet with the realities of being away from home and out with friends and co-workers every night.

My one year anniversary of starting this is on July 1 and the model has me at 243.1 on that day. Last July 1, my estimate was 375 (it's likely somewhere from 372 to 378), so that would be 132 pounds in one year. At the club that day they asked me what my goals were and I said to lose 100 pounds the first year and then another 50 the second. I had guessed my weight at 350 pounds and they didn't bother to weigh me. A week later I found out differently. So technically I wanted to weigh 250 by the next year and then 200 by the year after that.

Despite my optimistic estimate of my initial weight, it looks very much like I will still manage to clear that 250 by losing more than 125 pounds in one year. The model suggests I'll clear 200 some time in December of this year.

Mr Vee - First I would like to congratulate you on your fabulous weight loss. Good job!

I saw a post from you on someone's diary where you said that you can't get stopped for a breathalizer unless you have done something else, like weaving etc. Don't you have Sobriety Checkpoints? Here in PA they set up Sobriety Checkpoints where they stop every car, or say, every third car to check for sobriety. They publish in the paper when and where they will be and if you see that you can avoid the area. If you have been drinking and you get caught in the traffic with nowhere to exit, you're done! I have never been in that position.

I hear ya on the dangers of the business trip. I am staring on right in the face later this week and trying to get prepped so it doesnt derail me. My goal is to come back after the 6 day trip with some (any) loss. Dont care if its a small one.

Housesitting this week. The good news is that unlike on a trip, I'm in control of my diet and can easily make my personal training and cardio workouts. The bad news is I won't be able to weigh-in first thing in the morning, so no official weigh-ins this week. Unofficially everything appears on track though.

Talked to my sister yesterday. She said she was in a store wasting time, and she saw a shirt she really liked for me. It was 2XLG. She was holding it up and trying to decide if it was too big for me. She said when she realized that's what she was doing, she started to tear up a bit. I was in a 4X or even a 5X this time last year.

My family has been ridiculously supportive and encouraging through all of this, and that's been a massive help.

You look great, love the comparison pictures :D

140 pounds is so much, I mean, so so much, you should be so proud of yourself. I feel like I'm going to well up as well! I'm glad that you've had the support of your family, I do think it makes a lot of difference if you have a lot of people helping you.

Like that burger recipe :)

Wow I can't imagine having a sweet sister. It's awesome that your family is so supportive. I saved a 4X shirt from when I was 400. It barely fit when I started losing. When I feel discouraged that I haven't achieved much, I'll put it on. Awesome work as usual. I expect some kiss and tell stories so I can live vicariously a bit.

I came here to talk bad about the Blackhawks but I made the mistake of reading your latest post before doing so. Now I can't be mean because your story was just too darn sweet.

In short - I'll be back later!

Sisters are the best, mine is always the first to complement me with a milestone achieved or tell me how pride she is I'm doing this.
We are blessed with such great families!
