Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

190.5 this morning.

Personal training yesterday revealed I need a bunch of work with my upper body strength as I was really struggling. In particular my right arm is WAY stronger than my left, as for both curls and shoulder presses my left reached "failure" long before my right would have.

The good news is that this level of weakness usually means the person has a shot at adding muscle and losing fat at the same time, which basically only untrained folks can do.

Been very, very good on my diet the last three days. I sketched out a meal plan for this week on Sunday and so far it's been very helpful in helping me keep track of when and what I should be eating. Chicken parm tonight.

No personal training today, so I think I'm going to try out that cardio circuit he showed me last week.

Good news Vee on having "a shot at adding muscle and losing fat at the same time." I'm still a chance to do so then too! Untrained? Ha! Well done on a good 3 days. Planning helps. Now if only we could stay off the "grog!"

Yay on the workouts!!! I've been a bit slack with exercising outside of my PT sessions, I don't mean to... I think about cardio, then what else I could be doing besides cardio, and that usually wins. Even if it's sitting home on Reddit for hours, haha!

Thinking of getting an exercise bike for my house so I can ride mindlessly while watching TV.

Even after all this time, every time this happens I'm still a little perplexed:

187.5 this morning. It really is curious how much weight can just ebb and flow like this, and even more strange when you consider how much less I weigh now than when this would happen to me before.

My handheld bodyfat monitor thingy said 20.1% which I'm pretty sure is a new low. It's even more scattershot than the scale, but looking at things long term, I do think it's at least semi-accurate.

Personal training at three today, and a band from my youth is playing tonight and I'm considering going even though my expectations of a good show aren't particularly high.

Heck of a weigh-in and BF%! That is weird that the fluctuations haven't gotten proportionately smaller. Apparently the day to day fluctuations don't have much to do with water stored in fat as I assumed or your range of fluctuation would be tiny now.

What's the band?

Though generally I liked them less and less the later stuff they did. Really only the first two albums were up my alley. Though this was always a neat cover.

sXe punk Vee? Heck yeah!

Some times older punk groups go into "best of" mode and are still awesome to see. 7 Seconds just came out with a new album apparently. I haven't heard anything past Good to Go. I'd probably go. They'd have top play some of the big 80's stuff. I think Walk Together Rock together is their best album.

I'm very unbalanced in my upper body strength too. I usually train arms with chest, and when I do arm exercises my PT usually makes me do one arm at a time, starting with my weaker side and then matching the reps with my stronger arm afterward. Just so I'm training evenly!! I think with exercises with a barbell it's easier for me to rely on my stronger side a little more.

:D What a nice surprise. That sort of perplexity I would be able to cope with. I WISH! 20.1% body fat? WOW!!!

187 this morning.

Did not make the show last night as I couldn't find anyone to go and wasn't all that enthusiastic anyway.

Having a terrible problem lately with itching. Just took an allergy pill.

More personal training today at three, and then I'm on my own until next Monday.

I take anti-histamines all year 'round. I would be snuffling, sneezing & itching constantly if I didn't. Shame you didn't go to the show. If you went on your own you would probably have had a good time. I'm half planning another game of golf tomorrow. I prefer to play in a group with one other woman so that you're not the only one hitting off the women's tee. I'm going to try for Sunday & Monday no wine & see if I can get things moving down again!

187 again this morning.

Decided to limit my basketball to once a week as impact exercises were starting to bother my ankles. My hope is that giving them significant rest will help strengthen them up some. The good news is that I think today will be my basketball day for the week.

Busy weekend as I'm heading to my parents on Sunday for my birthday!. 43 in case anyone is wondering.

Cate,

I generally don't have allergy problems but every now and then they creep up on me. I just wasn't feelin' it on the concert and I had a lot of work to do, so I skipped it.

Happy Birthday for Sunday :) Hope you have a great day.

You have come so far in the past two years, I am still in shock that you are really you! You look brilliant. I bet you feel amazing too, the way you experience life must have improved so much by dropping all thta extra weight, you must have so much more energy. I hope you are really really bloody proud of yourself :D

I hope that personal trainer of yours is taking you ankles into consideration whilst he is whipping your butt :) If you like swimming that could reduce pressure on your ankles whilst still giving you a good workout.

Played yesterday and the ankles were mostly fine. A good sign. Going to stick to once a week on the basketball and see if they continue to strengthen up. Until it gets cool enough to mountain hike, will do the cardio circuit my trainer showed me on my other cardio days. It's little to no impact. It does however turn my lungs to porridge.

188.5 this morning. Passed my defensive driving exam I was forced to take because of the accident.

Off to the gym.

Did I miss something about ankle problems?

Kind of related, my PT has been making me do heavy split squats the last (I think 3) leg days now (with a bench behind me so that leg is raised pretty damn high) and it really shows me how freakin weak my ankles are! I can balance and do the exercise, but damn. Have to shake it out afterward!

Holy crap, I can't believe you had to take a driving exam after an accident, that's crazy business. Here if an accident is your fault you'll get demerit points, and if you have the max amount (from other driving violations) you'll get your license suspended temporarily. I'm not sure you have to take a test to have it reinstated either, I've never lost mine.

The idea behind the driving school/exam is that it keeps points off your license.

As far as my ankles, I got talked into playing basketball on Saturday because they were short players and of course I landed on someone's foot and twisted my ankle again. This time not so bad, but Saturday I was kinda immobile. doing okay enough now. I think my basketball career is over though. I'm getting some sort of injury every other day I play. Body might be trying to tell me something.

Thanks to everyone on my birthday wishes.
