Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Well if I had putted well, I likely would have won as I struck the ball exceptionally well. Hit about a 290 yard drive on the final hole.

Anyway I hadn't tested it in a while, so today I decided to text my vo2max again. Vo2max is a measure of the body's oxygen capacity and is a good barometer for general fitness. According to this post of mine earlier at 293 pounds I had a vo2max of 29 and at 242 pounds it was 36.4. Today at roughly 187 pounds it was 42.4.

According to this site, that now puts me into the "good" range for someone my age. So at least by this measure, I'm literally in "good" shape. We'll see if I can get into "excellent" shape in the near future.

Sent out a couple of e-mails on the ol' dating site this week. One of which I thought was exceptionally clever. No replies yet...

Well done on being in "good" shape & good luck with the emails. Clever is very attractive, in my opinion!

187.5 this morning. However there's a bit of a benchmark that I don't know how to interpret. Holding up the dubious hand held body fat monitor it game me a reading of: 19.9% body fat. That is the very first time I've gotten a sub 20% reading on the thing. Certainly the last few weeks with my trainer have been on another level than I've ever been when it comes to weight lifting and so there is a very real possibility that I'm packing on a little muscle while losing a little fat. That's usually hard to do, but easier for someone without a lot of heavy weight training experience.

Going to visit the parents tomorrow on the Labor Day holiday.

186 this morning.

Today is Labor Day and I'm going to my parents for a little BBQ. Going to make a concerted effort to keep my food intake to a minimum.

You sound nicely back on track again! I knew you could do it! Though, at least for me, it's always a scary time when I feel I am off track again as I know it's a slippery slope back to my original 'fat' weight. It's a great feeling to be in control again!

Yeah I'm doin pretty good MR. The beer is still in the way, but I'm certain I've run decent sized calorie deficits the last three weeks or so.

186 this morning. Mostly good yesterday though probably ate a little more than I wanted. Man there's a lot of food in that house.

Long holiday weekends always mess up my internal calendar. Today seems like Monday but it's Tuesday and all week it will be like this. Personal training at 2:30 today. He damn near killed me on Friday so I can't imagine what he has in store for me.

Well it's a new month, so it's picture time. Here you go from tonight:

As a form of motivation so I don't humiliate myself, I'm going to resolve to do a shirtless one on November 1. I can't promise I won't chicken out, but I have 9 weeks or so to do the best I can to prepare for it.

Thanks for the thumbs up guys.

186 again this morning and now back from my training session. I always feel so weak when doing an upper body workout: squats and deadlifts I do okay at, but then bench press I just struggle with even a few weights on there. And it's very hard to add strength there while losing weight elsewhere.

Anyhow, going to make myself tacos tonight.

185 the morning after tacos.

No personal training today, so I'm going to do some sort of cardio workout. Haven't decided what.

If the "accuweather" long term forecast can be believed, it looks like October 4 will be the start of weekend mountain hiking season. They've got a high of 88 listed for that day and lower than that the rest of the month. At my current weight that's very doable as long as I bring a good amount of water.

Posted a 184 on June 21. So when I hit 183.5, that will be my first new low in quite a while.

The model confirms that I kinda lost the plot a little bit there, but it's still fun to look at. Time to get those red squiggles trending down a little more clearly.
