Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

I actually posted something a few days ago at least I thought I did (wanted to welcome back Mystic) but it must have not went through. Thanks for all the encouragement guys, this has been a tough month for me psychologically.

Anyway, 189.5 this morning which all things considered is not too bad.

I've got 36 half hour training sessions left over. I'm going to sign up for a new trainer (my old one had to leave town permanently) and use them up over the next three months or so. That will hopefully get me on the right track and give me a solid strength training program to use from then on. Basically my last payment for my training appointments was in July, but because I haven't been using a trainer since mine left, they've just been storing up. The good news is I now just switch the money I'd been paying for training over to my car payment.

Gonna get back on a more strict calorie plan and have been for the last week or so. Chest and back strength training today. Get a lot of work done and then bring the fun tonight.

Tonight I get to see what might be my favorite live band ever: the incomparable Man or Astro-man? Should be tons of fun, they always are.

That's great that you have those training sessions. I imagine it's a bit easier to go to the gym when you know you have an 'appointment' with a trainer. I sometimes wish I had the money for that, but really I just need to motivate myself to get out there!

It is the toughest time Vee, that's for sure. Good to hear that you too are back on track. From someone who is now 61- you never stop learning! I am feeling fantastic, after losing 3kg in the last week & being back to eating really cleanly. You feel much better about everything when you really look after yourself! How 's the car going? Cheers, Cate. PS sorry if it sounds like I'm nagging sometimes. It just does not seem right when you are not here!

190.5 this morning.

I've let my hair grow relatively long as I've decided to go to one of the salon places and let them do whatever they want. I figured I'd give them a lot of material to work with in case they needed it. You can't exactly walk in with a shaved head and say "hey, do something with this." In any event, tomorrow is my appointment.

Heading out to the gym after I get done typing this. Chest and back work today. Cooking a mini pork roast for dinner tonight.

I hope you got some grade A moshing in. That would be an awesome show! Glad you're back! I missed you bud. I'll kick ass and you take some names then we'll switch out.

189 this morning.

So I never did take a two year comparison pic on the 1st, but since I got my fancy salon haircut today, I figured I'd post some today. First today's pic:

And now here's the side by side comparison between now and just a little over two years ago on July 1, 2012:

Off to play some basketball

Wow... You wouldn´t even say that´s the same person! Must´ve been be the extra one you´d picked up and now lost along the way. Facial expression is definitely on the rise too. Still hoping for a smile though ;)

Hopefully we will see that smile one day. You have done so well Vee. Good things will come your way!

Twisted my ankle a bit playing basketball friday, but it seems to be pretty good right now. Was swollen yesterday but still got my workout in. Today is my off day, so it's convenient to give it a day's rest.

Really gonna try and push hard to get myself back into the mindset where I still need to lose twenty more pounds (between 165 and 170 sounds like a good weight to switch to maintenance at).

Baked chicken parmesan tonight. Usually pretty yummy.

Take care of that ankle and get well soon please. Glad to hear you´re starting to feel it again. How are the PT-sessions?

Going to try and go back to recording my weight in a journal every morning (or close to) and keeping track as an extra sort of motivator. Gonna use my little handheld body fat thingy as often as I can remember too.

188.5 this morning with a 22.0% body fat% reading on the handheld. 34.7 waist measurement which seems about right since my 34 pants are a little tight and my 36 pants are a little loose. My BMI is 26.3.

Lots of chores to do today, gonna go lift later on. Ankle feels good but a little less than 100%, will do elliptical for warm up and cool down before lifting. I resume my PT sessions on Wednesday with a new trainer.

Hey Mr Vee. What an amazing transformation. I mean, you've done it! You are now healthy and fit. It's incredible.
I read back a few pages, and you seem to be kind of in a slump that you're not suddenly a dating king. But in reality, who is? People tell lies all the time. I think you are still too focused on who you were. You keep mentioning what you've lost - what about what you've gained?
When you wake up tomorrow, you will be a healthy, fit man. Forget about that other guy. He's gone. He doesn't need your attention anymore. Going on dates or meeting new people, they want to meet you as you are now, not what you used to be, not even what you want to be. You have done so well, there's thousands of guys who were just like you who will never get the drive and determination to do what you did. But I do think you need to let what was go and focus on what is to be truly happy. A sharp suit and haircut are nice, but don't be fooled. They don't define you. You are more than that, and to drown in aesthetics and that last 10 pounds would be a shame.

*croons* Vee is very, very, extraordinary...

You´d better believe it, we all know what a great guy you are but you´ll need to see it yourself if you want to radiate it to people in meatspace. Good luck with the new plan!

Spot on Emma! :iagree: with all of the above! I know what it feels like to feel defined by what I was, instead of the person I am. You are a great guy Vee. We have got to know you & we know the person you are. Keeping up with exercise is key for me, to keep me feeling good about myself. Glad to hear you're going to see the new PT this week. Hope that's good. Cheers, Cate.

I know what you mean Emma and I agree with most of it, though to be fair to me I haven't actually brought up my weight loss on any of my dates nor is it in my profile.

But I really do think trying to look the best I can is important. Maybe to no one else but me, but it would still matter to me, and I think that would effect everything else in my life.

I mean sure it's not all that matters or even close to it. But, for me anyway, it really _does_ matter.

When you are really happy with yourself then those vibes will find the right one for you. Glad the ankle is coming good Vee!
