Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

It looks likely you've nicely got right back on track, and THAT is the absolutely HARDEST thing to do when it comes to weight loss I think!!
I also think I'd like to start recording my weight everyday, mine will be on my diary like you often do. I also want to join the October Challenge and actually make it through one with an appropriate amount of weight loss! I've tried and failed in quite a few that last several times I have tried, but this time will be different!

186.5 earlier this morning.

Back from a Sharknado 2 viewing party. Lotsa fun. Tara Reid is a disaster area.

187 today.

Before the Sharknado festivities last night, I had my first personal training appointment with the new trainer. Liked him. He was a little stunned when he heard my story.

Sounds like I'm going to be doing a lot of squats. A whole lot of me is sore today, even though technically yesterday was just a "legs" day.

That's great that you liked the new PT! Of course, he was stunned. :D
LaMaria- Hmm sounds like you're speaking from experience....recent experience ;)

Yay I love squats!!! I'm just recovered from legs but I had back day yesterday... always have the best posture after deadlifting, it hurts too much to slump! If I drop anything on the floor today though it's staying there.

If I drop anything on the floor today though it's staying there.

Legit. Dropped a plastic wrapped cheese stick on the floor getting something else out of the fridge. The resulting effort to get it off the floor and back into the fridge was Herculean. My legs are DOMSing me something fierce right now.

188.5 this morning.

It's August 1 and normally I'd post pics but I just did that so I'll wait until next month.

Vee....DOMSing?- had to look that one up! I managed to strain a calf muscle in my sleep a couple of nights ago & I have no idea how that could happen! We don't mind some extra photos Vee, especially if you smile :) ......just saying....
LaMaria :D always good to have a laugh!

Dogsitting for the parents this week, and might be a good time for a bit of a re-set on the diet.

Gonna try and cut 100 calories from my daily target and also try and do much better than I have been lately at meeting that target. And that means I need to drastically cut back on the beer consumption. Need to come up with a way to socialize without tacking on 400 liquid calories (at least) by doing so.

Been sitting at around 188 or 189 pounds all week. With an initial goal of 165 and then bulking up to 175 after that, I think I simply need to do much better on the diet. I could try more and more strenuous exercise, but I'm getting a little concerned that I'm reaching the physical limits of what my body will take there: while trying to do sprint intervals on the treadmill today, my ankles both seemed ready to give out after about 20 minutes.

Personal training tomorrow and then I leave for my parents house.

Sounds sensible, you only get one body per lifetime so you´ll have to make it last. It´s been working very hard for you these last two years! And when you´re having a hard time sticking to your current daily goals, enforcing them more exactly is probably more helpfull than making said goal a lot stricter. Have fun dogsitting, is it a breed that needs a lot of exercise?

I agree That looking at the diet is probably still the way to go yet as you already seem to workout quite hard and you don't want to over exert and cause a bad injury or anything. I also am trying to cut 100 cals a day from what I did the last time I lost weight. After using my fitbit tracker and making sure all but one day to get in at least 10,000 steps it's amazing me how few calories I burn so no wonder my weightloss stalled out the last time. Even though I used those calculators and stuff to estimate, I was taking far less steps then than I am now and I burning far less than I thought I was then.
You are already burning enough it seems, just need to re-adjust cals for your new weight.

Gonna be hard to quit beer in summer in AZ!
Are you sure you need to go all the way down into the 160s dude?
That seems mighty low to me. I think your doin fine at 189!

Do I need to get down into the 160s? No. The weight and fitness level I'm currently at should cause no negative health consequences at all.

Do I _want_ to? Well, yeah. I know that getting down to say 12-14% body fat and having the makings of a six-pack is hard to do, particularly at my age, but it's there for the taking right now. With the exercise and the flexibility my current work situation gives me, if there's a time to get this done, it's now. It may be vain and shallow, but a little vanity actually does me a fair amount of good sometimes. Truth be told, vanity is why I'm not 375 pounds anymore.

Anyhow, my third training session with my personal trainer yesterday was INSANE!!! He had me do a cardio circuit that just wiped my ass right out. Brought me back to the first few months when I was still huge, though I can honestly say I don't ever remember being that winded. A few more sessions like that and I should be at 165 in no time. :D

Today is my sister's birthday. Unfortunately she doesn't live in town anymore, so I can't visit her. We'll see her later on this month. However I am going to go call her now. Bye.

Nothing wrong with a little vanity, as long as you take care of yourself. Nothing to do with being shallow! Actually I think it´s healthy to care about your body, appearance and all. As long as you don´t forget to keep giving yourself credit for the large and small things you accomplish along the way - for yourself and for others - it´s ok to keep working towards a harder goal.

I agree with LaMa Vee. It is very healthy & not necessarily vanity as such, to care about your body, appearance & all. Moving towards a goal is keeping us all moving forward & is much better than navel-gazing! Cheers & thanks again for your pm, Cate.

191.5 this morning.

Going to try hard to limit my beer consumption as it's destroying my diet right now. Personal training at three.
