522 jumps...not 520, not 525...522...well that sounds like a number you should play on the 3 digit lottery......

be proud...be loud..shout it to the crowd....(i just made that up...you didnt know i was a poet and a cheerleader..you should see my split jump....)

i gotta start getting in a workout of sort once a day...even if its that damn richardsimmons broadway tape that makes me wanna go out and glitter up a wifebeater shirt..and slap the person who invented showtunes

I don't know what you average in jumps per minute, but if you are doing 135 for 37 min that is 4995. I think it's time for that counting rope. :D

I probably average 80-85 jumps per minute. It took me 6 minutes to do the 500 so 500/6 = 83.33 JPM. You must be F__ing sprinting!! Wow! Follow that 6 minutes with two minutes of rest, followed by 4 on, 1 off for the rest of the time (37 minutes), and I figure I may have jumped around 2000 jumps give or take 10-20??? Not too bad when I think of it that way!!!!! :) Now all I have to do is 5x that amount!! :svengo:

So I take it I should count all the jumps in the circut I am doing... it doesn't have to be "in a row", just in the same session? I DEFINATELY need the counting rope!! :D :D

damn, both of you are kicking my a$$ with the jump rope numbers. I'm still sitting at between 300 and 350 at best before I feel like I got kicked in the chest....must be an advantage for you guys, that whole no tits thing. lucky bastards. ;)
anyways. :D great job JZ, glad to see you've found a cardio option that you're enjoying. and hey 2000 is a lot closer to Trops' 10K than 500 is. so own it and be happy. ;):smash:

Wednesday

AM Upper body workout.... I KILLED IT!! I've been waiting for some big breakthroughs, and they finally came to fruision!! Increased all my lifts by 5 pounds, I am now 15 -20 pounds up on all my lifts from when I (re)started except one... my bench... I pressed 250!!! I f I lose 3 pounds this week, and add 3 pounds to my bench next week, I am officially benching my weight, which would make me extremely happy!!! I want to get to the "plus 50 club" again, but ultimately, the "plus 100" club!!! Just a matter of time now!!!

Breakfast - two PB covered wheat 100 cal english muffins, whey
snack 1 - R2DS
lunch - chicken and broccoli
snack 2 - R2DS
dinner - Two chicken breasts, 1/2 of 1 yam

Great day!!! Bring on tomorrow!!!

Nice! Think of it this way, the more you lose, the more you are benching over your weight. I'm not a big bench press guy, but I just recently started going for more weight there. Yesterday I did 225 twice. I was very happy. +100 I guess is in the realm of possibilities, I just don't know if I want it that much as to put my focus there. Perhaps.

I have a buddy, that looks like, including the build of, Vin Deisel!! He benches 425!! I would love to weigh 180 and bench like 300 +!! That's definately a goal. I'm going to lift anyways... might as well have something to shoot for. You should too, with all that weight you've lost, you could show your youngest that you're still "strongest daddy in the world"!!! ;) :D 225 X2 is very respectable though!!

Howdy Jess, Thanks for droppin' in. You are right on about all the inspirational stories and people here! Some of them are truly amazing!! As for lifting... let's just say I'm trying to rebuild what was there at one time.

Stop by anytime, I appreciate any comment, support, or advice!! :)

Thursday

AM CARDIO!! HIIT on elliptical. 3 MIN high resistance, 1 minute no resistant but at HIGH speed!! Thought I was going to take off!!! What's funny is that the 1 minute of breakneck speed seems easier than the three minutes of HEAVY resistance. Repeated that "loop" 7 times for a total of 28 minutes plus 5 minute cool down, then 25 minutes of heavy bag work.

Killer workout!!! 9.8. More intensity on the follow up heavy bag would have made it a 10. Next time... give it everything!!

Breakfast - Oatmeal, yogurt
snack 1- bannana
lunch - 6oz. fillet cut STEAK, green beans (DAMN, that steak was AWESOME!!!!)
snack 2 - apple
dinner - 1 turkey on wheat english muffin, baby carrots

As usual... 8 16 oz bottles of water

Good day. That steak may have been a splurge, but when worked into the day... I was right on target with my calorie intake, so I feel good about it!!

JZ, are you keeping track of your proteins? It looks like your diet is good except for the amount of exercise you do I would think you would want more protein. I know that the R2DS usually have a good amount.

I also add protein to the R2DS's with whey. And sometimes I make snack 3 just whey... depending if I'm short in the protein department or not. I go for between 50 and 65 grams per day... somedays it's more, but rarely less.

Hey! Just wanted to stop in and check out your journal :) Sounds like your workouts and diet are going wonderfully! I might have missed it in your journal (don't have time right now to read all :() BUT do you do any deadlifting? It's my absolute favourite! Nothing makes you feel more badass than a heavy deadlift! Just make sure you get trained in proper form first, or your back will be out for weeks.

Keep up the great work :D

1) Thanks for checkin' out my journal. :) Drop by and brighten the page anytime you want!!

2) Reading the whole thing would be way too much effort!!!

3) Deadlifts are the ANCHOR of my lower body workout!! They are also my favorite as well!! I love the attention at the gym... the holy hell... that guy is frickin' crazy looks I get. LOVE IT!!

4) Have a great weekend!!

Great workout! Ahh everyone on here talks about HIIT. I really need to try it. Just reading what you did made me tired lol

Awesome job with the healthy eating as well. Eh, don't really view the steak as a splurge. You deserved it. We all deserve yummy food for our hard work :)

And holy crap you drink a lot of water. Here I thought I was drinking a lot with 64oz lol

That's what I thought. I have heard that the rule of thumb is one g of protein for each pound of lean body mass. So if you have 155 pounds of lean body mass you should be eating somewhere around 155 g of protein. I know that sounds like a shit load. You might want to check with someone on this (perhaps Steve) just to verify. I've been eating three eggs a day (egg whites are like pure protein no fat), plus high protein cereal to get my proteins up. Tuna is real good for that, too.

benching 250 thats awesome! Work on those abdominal muscles once you get down to 200 and that would be a hell of a slapshot!!!

Great job with the workouts JZ! Sounds like you're really gettin a good one in. I have to say that I agree with Trops on the protein, 1g per lean lb of bodyweight is what I've always understood. I usually shoot for about 175-200g a day. Double scoop my shakes so they each run about 65 w/ lowfat milk mixed in. Of course I've eaten more boneless skinless chicken breasts than I care to remember.
