What would someone who has the physique I want for me eat???... Answer that question, then eat that!!! Of course, that works for workouts too! What would that guy be doing to keep that build??... Answer the question, then do that!! Pretty simple actually!

Great idea JZ, I use the same kind of idea when trying to avoid the temptation of wrecking 3 days by going on a drinking bender. "What would a normal, intelligent preson do to avoid messing up their life?"

I will apply your thinking to my pre-exercise internal motivation as well as my eating!!!

You rock dude!!! Best wishes with the 5 pounds, but deep down I know you can do it!!!!

We'll have to see about the five pounds though!! ???????????

Weekend Update

Friday... Halloween... had a great time takin' my kiddos out. They went as Darth Vader, a storm trooper, and a kitty cat. I love to see them smile, and that's all they seemed to do. I received a lot od complements about how well mannered they were from many "houses" we visited. Is it really that hard to teach your kids to say thankyou??!?!?!?

Saturday - "Indoor soccer day" - 2 of my three had games!! Lots of fun there!

Sunday - play around the house day! Enjoyed one of the last "NICE" weekends we will probably have weather wise! Played soccer and football, and tag, and capture the flag!! Really fun to do with a nearly 4 year old! He thinks if he can't see you... you can't see him! They loved it because when they got daddy's flag... he turned into a MONSTER!!!

Lots of "FUN" cardio this weekend, and actually some HIIT on the elliptical on Saturday!

I had NO candy at all. Damn, I'm not a candy person, but that chocolate smelled amazing!! I ate clean and healthy with the meals I usually have!! No creepin' to the cabnet at night!! :D

We'll see what the official weigh in has to say, but all in all, it was a GREAT finish to a GREAT week!!!

Well... I BUSTED my ASS last week, and lost 2.5 pounds!!! Half of my goal, but I do not feel bad at all... I know I did everything in my power to be successful... and I was. I'll take 2.5 and RUN like a MO FO!!!

Glad I could make you laugh, and HIGH FIVE for no candy!!!

I lucked out--no kids and no trick or treaters, somehow I didn't have candy either, BUT I did have dessert on Saturday--mmmmh!!! S'ok, I actually DIETED this weekend :eek2: Nice with the HIIT! Cheers!!!

I miss taking my son trick or treating! - He called from college to tell me had a awesome costume this year but he has not sent pictures. I live out in the sticks so I don't get Trick or Treaters-- they all head in to town and hit the nicer developments. I bought almond joys--in case someone stopped.. but they are in the freezer - I will send them back to school with my son when he comes home for Thanksgiving.
I raised him by myself since he was 5. One kept me busy-- hats off to you JZ for raising 3!!!

Well dude, You did a hell of a lot better than I did on the candy scene, but I'm not going to get upset about it. It's all over and I'm back on track. Besides, the back is better and I'm hitting it hard again.

Had a good weekend with your kids too. My hat's off to you JZ. I gotta say, when it comes to respect. I watch how parents are with their kids. I don't even have to meet you, and you already have my respect because of how you are with them.

JZ,

I am new here and just read some of your journal. Very inspiring, thanks. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for droppin' in. My advice to anyone new here... Make this a LIFESTYLE CHANGE. Make you routine just a normal occurance of your everyday life... pretty soon, it will be.

Thanks, and thanks for droppin' by. I appreciate all comments and advice. I do have three children, but I also get a lot of help from grandparents, aunts and uncles, and the kids mom has them 4 mornings a week for 1.5 hours, tuesday night over night, and 8 hours every other saturday. I am thankful to have such a wonderful support group to help me out. It is a very difficult job, but it is ALWAYS REWARDING!!! I wouldn't change a thing!! I get amazing time with them, that I know, as they age, won't always be available, so for now, I'm enjoying every minute!!!

Thanks Cabbie. That means a lot to hear. I live for my kids, and just want to do the best job I know how to do. I figure if I do that, They will turn into amazing individuals. I get all the small moments... I get the everyday life... I truly think that I get more out of the "deal" than they do!!

Yup, you do. Sometimes it doesn't always seem it... but everyone has those moments. Then poof... you're driving them to a college three states away and missing them when they're not around...

That would be a HUGE whole for me to fill.... I better turn to weights/excercise as opposed to food!!! Truthfully, I don't even want to think about those days. My kids are 6 3/4, 5, and 3 3/4, but I know time will FLY!! :( :(

It takes a village to raise a child.
