It's so strange to read about someone that want to gain weight! :p anyway, I really appreciate how you respect us: too many fit people laugh at our attempts to lose weight. The way you treat us and help us says a lot about you: you're a great person.

Thanks Venice! I respect anyone until they give me a reason not to. And how someone looks has nothing to do with how I am going to treat you. Hell, with that said, I might as well also say that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. I have seen plenty of "big girls" that are hot and sexy!

Haven't visited in a while but you still look ummm amazing :D
My brother is built like you and he is one that likes to gain and turn it into muscles I can't tell ya how many of those nasty looking protien shakes he drinks,he always offers me to go to the gym and try it out and workout but I am thinking his working out is way different than my thinking of working.
The men tend to bulk up more I want to lose weight and start on gettinmg a great body shape I don't want manly muscles lol any tips on where I can start when I go to a gym?
Do you do cardio 1st or toning or ab exersices how do you know whatb to start out 1st with?
I really like to hear your input because you know what your talking about I am working on getting calories to around the 1300-1400 mark instead of 1100-1200.I hope you have a great weekend Tammy:)

Hey Tammy.

First and foremost, you can't get big and bulky like your brother. Females are VERY different than their male counterparts in terms of hormones. Hormones are what allow men to increase muscle mass easily. And I don't like the word easily either. I work my ass off in the gym and am not very big at all. And I am a male. So think how hard it is for a woman.

The media has people thinking adding muscle is as simple as picking up a set of dumbbells. This could not be further from the truth.

Look, if you trained exactly like me but ate a caloric deficit, you would lose weight and your muscles would not grow at all.

Now flip it around: if you trained exactly like me and ate in a caloric surplus, you would add muscle, but nowhere near the extent of the muscle I have added.

Weight liftings role during a caloric deficit, which I have been saying a lot around here, is to maintain the muscle you have. That is it.

I would recommend weight training 2-3 times per week. If you are going to do cardio in that same session, do it after you weight train.

No, I actually had a beamer before this care, but I hated the connotations people attached to the bmw badge. So I opted for a bright yellow sports car instead. :D

It is actually a 350z.
 
Thank you Steve that makes lot of sence to me.I haven't been to a gym I do alot of walking and indoor excersices so thats why I was asking where to start.You have a nice day and Venice is waiting for ya to bring the lotion lol.:p
