Hi DW! It's been awhile. Sorry to read you have gained your weight back but you are already proving you can lose it even faster. Have you figured out what has gone wrong in the past and what you will do to make sure it doesn't happen this time?

Hey Derrick - yes, it's been a LONG time. You asked the million dollar question!!
"Why did I gain the weight back (twice!)?"
I think there are a lot of factors that caused me to gain the weight, and I'm trying to deal with them all this time around:
1. I treated diet / exercise like a tool to fix my obesity. Once my obesity was gone, I no longer needed those tools - I went back to my old ways... This time around I know that diet and exercise are part of my LIFE forever and always.
2. Support system - I didn't have a steady support system at home. This time around my wife is my number one ally and we are doing this together. I know she will talk some sense into me if I ever falter / gain weight back.
3. I never had a long term plan or goal. My sights were only set on "when I get to my weight-loss goal..." "when I fit into these clothes..." I need a 1 year goal, a 5 year goal! Goals don't end once you lose the weight.

The scale was the same today, so that's pretty good (yay for no gaining

) We had turkey burgers and sweet potato fries for dinner last night - pretty good! I bought a new cookbook to get some new healthy ideas, so I'm pretty excited about that!
Went to they gym yesterday and did my interval training - which is so freaking hard. Here it is spelled out:
Treadmill
5 minute warm-up at 3.0mph
Repeat 3X (Surge):
30 seconds at 8.0mph
30 seconds at 3.0mph
Two minutes at 3.0mph
Repeat 3X (Surge):
30 seconds at 8.0mph
30 seconds at 3.0mph
Two minutes at 3.0mph
Repeat 3X (Surge):
30 seconds at 8.0mph
30 seconds at 3.0mph
Two minutes at 3.0mph
After that I did some back exercises and went home! My wife and I decided to make Thursdays our official cheat day (dinner only). That way it's not too close to the weigh-in and we have time to get the sodium out of our body and work off the calories. Tomorrow we are going to chilis
