Journal Time!

Weigh-In: 207.6

:hurray:

I lost 3 pounds this week and feel great about it! I'm so excited to be out of the 210s - and I only have 7ish pounds to go before I hit One-derland! If I really buckle down, I might be able to make it in the next 3 weeks (mid-June) which is really exciting to me. I don't have to spend the summer in the 200s! :)

My wife is doing really well too, and actually beating me! She is down 40.2 pounds and looks great. We both still have a long way to go, but we are doing well, taking our time, and making it happen.

Diet was pretty good over the long weekend. I've been having some major cravings and gave into a few of them (in moderation), but the scale is still going down so I'm not worried. I've been going to the gym / working out every other day for the last 2 weeks. It puts me at 4 workouts per week which is great for my schedule. Not too much, not too little. I increased my heavy weight training and decreased my cardio which seems to be working as I've noticed some physical changes in the way my body is shaped.

I don't have any upcoming travel so I'm going to take this time away from the road to focus on my diet and exercise, hopefully the 100s are right around the corner!

Congratulations!! Onederland is definitely not far off for you :)

Thanks for stopping by!! I can't wait to see the 100s again. Especially since I have a nice 1-hour massage certificate waiting for me when I get there (a birthday present I've been saving) :)

Congrats to you and your wife. Sounds like you are going great guns on the weight loss. Isn't it nice to have someone so close to you that has the same goals? I know my wife and I started this together as well. It makes it so much easier to continue on the weight loss when you are doing it together. You will be in One-derland before you know it. By the way it is a great place to be- I am enjoying it here in One-derland and intend to stay-lol. Congrats again!!

I thought I would post a before and after-ish pic.

The first one is at my sister's wedding right before I started losing weight. The second one was about 3 weeks ago around 215 pounds...

hey DW, by the looks of it I'll be here for a while longer. The money is to good to pass up and by what I hear better than what anything is paying back in the states. Even thinking of moving to Iraq, even better money up there.

Luckly I'm still under the 200 mark, but not by much. sitting around 190 to 195.

Hopefully on my day off this week I'll get my diary updated, so you can read the whole story there.

Talk to you soon.

I had my wife take an updated picture of me this morning. I am posting it here, side-by-side with the picture of me at my sister's wedding. WOW. It's so easy to forget where you started! I knew I was big, but seeing it this way makes me remember HOW big I was... and how miserable I was!

I don't know if it's the weight training, but I feel better / look better at 207 than I usually do at 190... I still have a thick layer of fat everywhere (especially my torso), but my proportions seems better. My shoulders / chest seem more broad which makes the lower half look smaller.

I had a great / deadly workout last night. I took BodyPump and upped most of my weights - and I think the teacher was trying to kill us :) It was a great workout but I am taking a much needed day off from the gym today.

Happy losing!

Good Morning! It's finally Friday - WHOOHOO!

I worked from home yesterday and did really good with my diet. However, I didn't make it to the gym AGAIN! AHHH. My wife and I have some visitors coming this weekend so we took the day to do some spring cleaning... that counts for something, right!? I cleaned the carpets, cleaned out a closet, took a few loads of stuff to our shed, vacuumed, changed sheets, cleaned bathrooms... I was definitely TIRED by the end of the day.

We have a pretty packed schedule today as well, but I am determined to fit in some honest exercise. My daughter has a dance recital on Sunday so she has her Dress rehearsal today... along with her graduation ceremony for kindergarten.

The scale is currently saying 209.4. Sigh... I was really hoping for another 2 pounds this week (putting me at 205.6) but I'm not sure if I'll make it. However, once I put in 3-4 hours at the gym this weekend I'm sure it will go down some... I seem to be retaining some major water (my wedding ring is tight!)

Tomorrow we have a KILLER class at the gym. They only do it about once every 2 months and my wife and I took it when we first started at the gym. It is a combination BodyCombat / BodyPump class. They alternate every track between combat and pump - for 2 HOURS!!! If I'm not at 205 after this class I will be shocked! :)

Have a good weekend everyone!

Hey DW - just checking in to see how things are going. You've been hitting it pretty good - want to make sure you are not losing momentum. :)

Hi Jennifer - thanks for checking in on me! Honestly, I have been struggling some for the past 1-2 weeks.

First, let me say that I am still going to the gym (just not as much as I want to) and I've only been bad on my diet in regards to dinner time. I eat pretty well during the day, then seem to fall apart at dinner.

Also, I have NOT gained any weight and I'm actually down to 207.2 (-0.4 from my last post). So, it's not detrimental, but I have lost a little steam.

The good news, my wife and I both recommitted to our goals on Sunday. No more cheating, talking about cheating, eating badly, missing the gym... and so far, it's going well! I'm ready to get under 200 and see some more progress!

We are back on track and aiming for a 2 pound loss each week (no more of this 0.2 business...).

Even though I've stalled a little bit, I don't feel sad or discouraged. I knew when I started that this would be a long process. I actually feel good knowing that I can have a bad week or two, and still maintain / lose weight / go to the gym. This time around, I'm not racing to the finish line - I'm just trying to get there one day at a time.

Side note: My wife and I ran our 5k on Saturday. We crossed the finish line together after running all 3.1 miles. It was a hilly course (IMO) and I feel very proud of both of us.

Happy losing everyone!

Congrats to you and your wife on the 5K. It is funny but there are a lot of people on this forum all of a sudden that don't feel fired up anymore about weight loss. Maybe it is something in the water or the planets are not lining up properly-lol. It is so easy to go back to bad habits. I know that since I have been maintaining the thoughts have been there but I am not giving in- NO DAMN WAY-lol. I know how I got to be fat and how I got to my current weight and I don't want to have to go through those struggles anymore. It is good that you and your wife have recommitted to getting healthy and fit- GOOD FOR YOU!! Keep up the good work!!

Weight: 205.6

It is so nice to NOT see 207 on the scale. I'm having a really good week (although, it's only Tuesday) but I feel positive. I'm SO close to the 190s :)

Congrats on finishing the 5k together - that is sooo awesome. I'm hoping my hubby will be able to run a 5k with me in Nov. (it's not an out of shape thing - rather ankle & knee injuries).

Also - really good news on the scale - yay for you!

Fantastic job putting the last couple weeks behind you and kicking in your healthy routine again.
