So for BFast today I had a serving [1 packet] of go lean oatmeal and a 1.5 cup of mixed fresh fruit [strawberries, watermelon and pineapple]. Snack I ate the rest of the fruit I brought with me to work which was about another cup-cup and a half. Lunch I had a can of chunk light tuna mixed with 1Tbsp of low-fat Mayo and made a sandwich out of it using 24 grain whole wheat bread and a piece of reduced fat provolone cheese. Snack I had the leftover dry roasted/unsalted peanuts that I had in my desk. There was probly a little less than a serving [which is about 40 pieces]. After work I went to the Bleachers at the high school and did 4 sets of bleachers and I walked 2 laps [backwards] around the track. I did some squats, pushups [against the wall], and leg lifts.

I went to the grocery store after my workout and bought LOTS of chicken breast [boneless/skinless] and some more chuck steaks [I like these because their really small... just the right *portion* size] and some more lean turkey meat [ground turkey] some more turkey breast from the deli, broccoli, yogurt and some Kashi cereal. Tonight Josh wanted to try some turkey burgers so I had another turkey burger with a whole wheat bun, romaine lettuce, tomato slice, reduced fat provolone cheese and ketchup. I also had a serving of steamed broccoli.


So today I bought the whole system of Turbo Jam. Im pretty excited. From what I read [from people on this very site] it works really well and is a lot of fun. I guess it'll be good to have something different other than just running all the time. I will continue to run though. I will run 3 days a week and do Turbo Jam 2 days and Sundays will be my off day. I love looking at the before and after photos on this site. Its truly an inspiration!

Man oh man am I tired today. It’s funny when I first wake up im fine and than the min. I step through the door at work I get tired all over again. Anyways here is what Breakfast looked like

1 Serving of Kashi Go Lean cereal [Honey Almond Flax]
1 Cup of skim milk
1 cup of fruit [watermelon and about 2 pieces of pineapple, the rest of the fruit is for my snack later]


Today I plan on running. Not sure if I will wear my weighted vest or not. Chances are I will. I have the battery to my camera charging at home right now. My friend had taken a picture of me at a baby shower she had for me back in November. I was 6 months pregnant and man do I look HUGE! [well besides the obvious belly]. I want to take a picture of me now when I get home and post them up side by side. My face before looked so swollen! UGH! Lol. Thursday is my “weigh” day. I hate weighing myself because if I step on the scale and only see a 2lb loss or 1lb loss or NO loss I get frustrated. One of the many reasons I don’t weigh myself everyday. I stick to weighing myself once a month. I had set up a mini challenge for myself last month [around the first week of June]. My challenge was to lose 8lbs by July 4th. A week after I set up my mini challenge I weighed myself [it was a Friday] and according to the scale I had gained a pound! I was so aggravated. That following Tuesday I had a doctors appt. They obviously weighed me and according to their scale I had dropped 5lbs since I weighed myself that Friday… Not sure what that was all about… Im thinking water weight. Well since that Doctors visit I haven’t weighed myself. Thursday is the day. Since I had dropped 5lbs at the doctors appt. [2nd week of June] maybe I dropped more than 8lbs! We shall see. Lets all cross fingers! [I’ll finally get to update my ticker too woohoo!]
 
Good luck with your weigh-in on Thursday. You have been doing great with the working out and eating right so I am sure there will be some major improvement! Just remember that it will be hard to compare your weight on Thursday to your last weight that was at the doctors office. Weird as it sounds, different scales give different readings. I work in a hospital and people will get weighed in their doctors office across the hall and an hour later when they come to us for their treatment their weight will be off by 2 pounds or more b/c we use different scales.
 
Yay another Turbo Jammer! Turbo Jam rocks. Good luck with your running and weigh in. Your food sounds yummy. I'll have to check out chuck steaks

Thats another reason why I hate weighing myself because each scale can be different. I use the one at work. Its a scale we use to weigh boxes before we ship them out. We have one at the house but the batteries died so its been in the closet, and it can stay there because if I had it out in the open I would be to tempted to weigh myself all the time. I think once I get closer to my goal [within a 5-10lb range] than I will weigh myself more.

LUNCH

Whole wheat Pita with turkey breast [fresh from the deli], romaine lettuce and a tablespoon of Basil Pesto sauce. It was really good. I love basil pesto sauce! The jar is small and its pretty pricey but it adds a TON of flavor to food!

I also had about a cup and a half of watermelon.


So far its looking to be a good day. I have decided if it isn't lightning outside im still going to workout. Yesterday it was thundering and raining but I still went to the bleachers and did my workout. Rain never harmed anyone and I didn't see any lightning anywhere so I went. Florida is weird... same time everyday a dark cloud comes rolling in. Usually around 2pm-I get out of work, is when it rolls in. I always have to stand outside and wait and watch to see if there is any lightning. 95% of the time there isn't and it just rolls over.

It's fun. At first I was dying afterwards, but now I just feel like I"m ready to run after I finish. You can do low or high impact with it. Watch the arm punches if you're not used to working them out. I was pretty sore a few days after my first time because I didn't know my sides were getting such a work out. I'm still learning it. They have some back/side kicks to combine with arm movements that I need to practice more, but other than that, it's easy!

I've done mostly Cardio Party but want to try beach body sometime this week too

I'm going to find those before/after pics you were talking about. I missed that. They do have one person working out in the video and they said she lost 45 lbs doing low impact Turbo Jam

All day today I was tired and had a headache. I wasn't giving up though, as much as that couch looked comfortable when I got home.. I strapped on my weighted vest and went for my 2 mile run. At first my head was still hurting, throbbing with every step I took but after about 5mins. it didn't hurt anymore. Im the kind of person who really doesn't like to take pills to mask the headache. I usually try and "ride it out"... The running made my headache go away completely. Funny how that works.

Dinner tonight we grilled some boneless/skinless chicken breasts. I seasoned them with pepper and oregano. Josh put some grill seasoning on them once they were on the grill. I didn't realize just how big they were but man were they good! We also had steamed green beans. [I had one serving]. Im pretty full now but later I might have a few strawberries with light cool whip. [maybe].

I told Josh that when I reach my goal weight im going to prance around the house naked and cook for him naked. He said "I'll believe it when I see it"... I had promised him I would cook for him naked after he got back from Iraq last year but within a couple of weeks we found out I was pregnant and EVERYTHING went out the window [i.e my body went out the window lol] but I told him I never broke the promise, just... post poned it I guess.

I am so impressed with your workouts, you have so much drive. I woke up this morning and was not feeling like working out. I was feeling lazy and thinking maybe I could skip just one day of working out. Then I get on here and read about you running even with your headache, and I feel like if you run when you don't feel well, I can get my butt on the treadmill when I am just tired. So good job you kicked my butt into gear without even trying!

Yessss! I will make sure that next time I have a headache, you better believe I will be running! lol.

I have that same tattoo on the other side too. It was my 22 BDay present lol.

For BFast this morning I had a serving of Kashi Go lean oatmeal [1 packet] in the Vanilla flavor. [150 calories / 9g Protein]

1 small glass of skim milk [86.4 calories / 8.4g Protein]

1 Cup of fruit / Watermelon and Pineapple [136.5 calories / 4.8g Protein]

Total calories: 372.9
Total Protein: 22.2

Not bad I guess. BFast is usually the one meal that I have the most calories. They say BFast is the most important meal anyways.


So I write down what I eat daily in a food journal I have and I calculate the calories at the end of the day. My goal right now is to try and stay at 1200 calories a day. Yesterday I felt like I ate a lot... I had my usual 6 small meals consisting of cereal [Kashi Go Lean], fruit, more fruit turkey breast sandwich in pita pocket, more fruit, MORE fruit and chicken breast with green beans and yet when I calculated my calories I only had 1080 calories for the day. Should I eat more fruit with my meals/snacks? I was figuring in my head that I was right at 1200 or a little over but not under... Oh well.

Also I went onto Fitday.com to calculate how many calories I burned while running. It said 185... That doesn’t sound right because when I used to run on the treadmill I burned more calories [according to the treadmill] in 15mins than what Fitday is telling me I burned in 20. I also wear a weighted vest equipped with 10lbs so im sure I burn extra calories for that because im pushing myself harder but there isn't anything for me to calculate that in.

Im really looking forward to getting my Turbo jam!
 
How many cals were you eating before you decided to cut them down? 1200 sounds pretty low.... what do you do if you hit a plateau? You have nowhere to cut

Your fruit sounds so good. Yummy. Good job getting that protein in! That vest probably burns a lot more, and I think youre crazy to wear it. hehe
 
Hmmm not sure how many calories I was eating before. I was pregnant so it was A LOT!

I just dont see myself eating more than 1200 a day. Sometimes I go over 1200 to maybe 1300 but since I cut down my portion sizes I stay full pretty much all day [thats with eating 6 times a day]. Sometimes before I go run I will have another snack [peanuts or fruit] just to give me that extra boost of energy.

If I hit a plateau I usually change my workout up a bit. Instead of running all the time I might go to the gym and do the eliptical or stairmaster or take the baby on power walks. On the weekend [usually Sundays cause thats my down day] I will eat one thing that my body hasn't had in a long time.. like ice cream or some cookies... something like that. Just to get my metabolism jump started again. Thats what I did when I was 17. I think I hit one plateau and I "shocked" my body so to say and it started coming off again.
