Wow. What a long day, long week.
So Dax is the general manager of a store here in town. He has an Assistant Manager and a few employees. Well, his assistant is 27, married, with three kids: a five year old boy, a three year old girl, and a one year old boy. Dax and I always have dinner parties and he'll have appreciation nights for his employees, etc... so I know Joe's (the assistant) wife fairly well. I've never really connected with her though because she's fairly abrasive but we've always had friendly conversation.
Anyway, they started having problems about six months ago and she really started acting nutty. She got arrested a few times for forging prescriptions for medications, she couldn't get thru a day without calling Dax's work nonstop, she would go in there with the kids all the time, mouth off to the employees, often Joe would have to leave work and go home because she had some type of issue. She got fired from job after job. Then she started going in and fighting with Joe in front of customers. So Dax put his foot down, told her she was not allowed in the store. He wasn't nice about it, either, mostly because he was really angry because some of his employees wouldn't come into work because they didn't feel comfortable.
So, I guess for the past few weeks she had been saying to Joe "Oh you always chose Dax's side over mine, you need to make him applogize to me.." It has been a huge issue for months at Dax's work.
Well last night she killed herself. The kids were upstairs sleeping. Joe was outside shoveling the driveway. He found her at 9pm. It took the coroner three hours to get there because of the snow.
It is so awful. Dax feels terrible. I feel so bad for everyone involved. She obviously had deep rooted problems.
Also, one of our patients at my work killed herself last week and her husband found her. So awful.
Anyway.
