Jessafurr's Slimdown for Mexico Trip

Didn't wake up. lol. Didn't follow my alternative plan.. Had a crummy weigh in (lost 1 lb). I ate well. I plan on packing in alot of exercise this weekend!

Thanks India! I really appreciate your support!!!

Lana...Maybe I'll just color my hair! Its soo hard to grow it out! I'm just sooo sick of how it is now!!! Maybe if I just have Brian trim it and color it I'll be happy again!

I actually haven't seen him since the summer because I had this idea I wanted to grow my hair out. My mid length hair feels drab.

Well, duh. :) Your hair feels drab because you've grown out a short choppy cut without getting it reshaped to work as a longer style. :)

I've grown my hair from super-short to the middle of my back multiple times, and it always looks bad throughout the growing out process. This time, I mentioned to my hairdresser that I wanted to grow it out again, and she's scheduled me just as frequently as when I had a super-short cut. I go in just as it's starting to look poofy and drab (I have lots and lots of super-fine hair, so it gets really poofy in the grow-out), and she cuts it a bit longer, reshapes to work with the additional length, and thins the bare minimum to keep the poof down. And it looks great again.

It'll take a little longer to get maximum length, but the layers I started with are almost completely grown out, and they never looked weird on the way.

So keep your appointment, but tell him to fix your hair so it looks great at about the length it is. :)

Yeah I'm going to try it. Its been soo long since I had long hair... I'll go see Brian and have him work his magic.

Jessa, 1lb is a great loss! Omg, especially consider your monthly visitor came to town. Kudos to not gaining during a period that you could have easily binged on carbies.

What color are you going with your hair?

hey little treats like getting hair done are good especially for self confidence. 1lb is great. its a good week if i lose that much! plus don't worry about it too much...you may be losing inches before pounds.

have a good weekend!

;-)

x

Thanks Angel.. that is true. I think I'm just used to losing really easy in the beginning.

Lana... I'll keep it brown but maybe do some highlights. I'll see what he thinks. I think I'm going to ask Brian what he thinks and see what he can do to make my hair look cute while it grows out. My hair used to always be really long but I always pulled it back thats why I debated going short again.

So today went pretty good. I had thai food for lunch (my boss took my out to lunch) and though I was real careful to eat a small portion, it was really hard to calculate the calories. I think I over estimated in fit day. Lots of veggies though! So here's my day:

Breakfast:

coffee (bad habit I need to fix -- only having coffee for breakfast)

Lunch:

1 cup broth base soup (very few veggies, no meat)
3/4 cup red curry with chicken
1/2 cup brown rice
1/2 cup green papaya salad (green papaya, carrot, tomato, string bean, crushed peanut, lime juice, garlic and Thai chili pepper.
1 half freshie roll (veggies, bean sprouts, shrimp, soy based wrapper)
4 small bites Pad Thai
1/2 cup Larb Gai Salad (gr chicken, mint, thai veggies, lime juice)

Snack:

1/2 bag m&ms, 1 orange

Dinner:

Protein shake (2 scoops kashi go lean protein powder, 1 cup fat free milk, 5 cherries, 5 teaspoons Fiber-Sure, splenda)

I'm super full right now after my protein shake.

I think I had like 1500 calories.

I had 48 g of fiber (woops maybe too much!!!!), 87 g of protein.

After work I did 30 min eliptical and 30 min treadmill.

I looked at fitday and I have been working out 3 times a week. I'd really like to increase that.

Victory: Our courier brought us doughnuts this morning and I didn't even have one bite!!!!!!

Oh and I bought batteries for my scale so I can weigh myself at home.

:hurray: kudos on avoiding the doughnuts! :hurray:

1lb is a very healthy weight-loss for 1 week, you should be happy! Little results achieved in a long time are more easily maintained than big ones in a short time. I'm sure you're aiming to get thinner and stay thinner, so you're on the right way.

Have a good weekend!

Thanks India!!!

So today I need to go in to worrk for a few hours but I think I'll take a break mid day and take a nice long walk outside because its sunny and beautiful out.

I want to try to get a bunch of exercise this week and stick to my plan a litter stricter. Last week it was a bit hard to avoid temptations -- this week I want to tighten things up a bit! I really need to work on making sure I get all my water each day. Also, I want to have breakfast EVERYDAY-- not just coffee. Increase exercise. Try to stick to 1200-1300 for calories. Increase fiber, increase protein.

I'm going to start it off my having a really good weekend!

Today was good. I worked for a few HRS then took a hr long walk. The I went and saw Juno again (Its SUCH a good movie). Then I went to the gym and used the eliptical for 30 min.

Food:

Breakfast: Cherry Protein shake

Lunch: MC Donalds Asian Chicken Salad

Dinner: 1/2 stuffed pepper

Snacks: 2 prunes, Starbucks Skinny Cinnamon latte (no fat/sugar), 18 baked tortilla chips, 1/4 c salsa

Water: 68 oz

Protein: 86 g

Fiber: 38 g

Fat intake was nice & low!

Calories: 1239

Good Day!!! Weekends are a good time for me to kick ass at my diet. (unless I'm going out of town or something).

Today I made a super good veggie lasagna. Whole wheat pasta, eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, onions, garlic, low fat cheese and a low fat pesto cream sauce.

I went on a nice long walk again. It started snowing but it wasn't too cold. I listened to Dax's (my boyfriend) old band on my i-pod. He sang in a punk rock band for years. The music is fast and upbeat.. good for working out.

I need to increase my water!! I think now I average 50-60 oz but everything I read said I should be taking in 80 oz at least. Also I read that you shouldn't guzzle it all at once! That you need to spread it out thru out the day!! Like right now I've only had 30 oz so far today and its 7:20 pm. I need 50 more ozs!!! I guess I'll try to drink water at a steady pace until I go to bed. We'll see how well I do!

I also still need to plan out my lunch for tommorrow!!

Today I had:

Breakfast: 1/2 a cherry protein shake, 2 nutrigrain waffles w/ sugarfree syrup, 1 tsp Brummel & Brown yogurt spread

Lunch: none (snacks: 4 prunes, 10 frosted mini wheats)

Dinner: Veggie lasagne, 3 oz chicken breast

Hi Jessa!
Yum, that lasagna sounds delicious!

Water should be spread during the day because your body can only retain a certain amount, if you drink it all at once you'll simply pee the excess out.

Have a great week honey!
A hug!

Hey Jessa! Thanks for dropping by even though I hadn't posted in a bit. I was definitely a very bad girl this weekend, lol, but the thought of having to report back on what I ate actually kept me in more control than I would have been.

That lasagne sounds delicious. Did Dax eat it too?

Kudos to you for going out on walks despite the weather. I'm a weather wuss. Lol.

Anyway, looks like you're doing great!

Thats so true, Lana, reporting what I eat when I slip up keeps me in check. I makes me keep control over it.

Sooo...

Today was good though I think I'm putting to much fiber-sure in my protein shake because my belly hurt all morning!

Lets see: Protein shake for breakfast. Tabouli, a steamed veggie mix and chicken for lunch . 2 cups coffee. 1/2 stuffed pepper for dinner. Fat-free chocolate crisps for a snack. I'll probably have a snack in an hour or so.

I went to body sculpt class (yea!!!) and then did 30 min on the eliptical. My body feels gooood.

Got 90 oz of water!!!!!

Thinking of hiring a personal trainer.....

Today:

Calories: 1431
Fat: 28g
Carbs: 225g
Fiber: 48g
Protein: 103g

I actually had to go back and eat another 1/2 stuffed pepper cause I started feeling light headed and gross. After eating I felt better. My belly has been weird all day though.

I looked through my old fitday entries from 2 years ago when I lost alot of weight. I lost 25 lbs in around 3 months. BUT sometimes I only had like 900 calories and I was still exercising alot. Not good. No wonder I lost my boobies so hardcore! Also no wonder I gained it back so hardcore!

This time I'm going to be smarter about it!! Its good, though, to reaffirm that a big change is possible in two months. It may not be as drastic as last time but I definitly will be in great shape by summer!

You know, I think that doing this weight loss thing the right way, in terms of a sustainable lifestyle, can sometimes be discouraging because in the past we were able to lose so much faster, at least it is for me. I just keep thinking though, every time I've lost a lot of weight quickly in the past I gained it back. I really don't have to feel overweight ever again. That's pretty motivating.

You should totally get a personal trainer! They're pricey but worth it I think. Let me know if you end up getting one!

Today was pretty good:

Breakfast: Sugar free oatmeal
Snack: coffee, 1 cup protein chai drink
Lunch: 1.5 cups curried chicken salad w/ veggies (went out to lunch w/ boss)
Dinner: unsure!! not hungry yet!

The chicken salad was sooo good at lunch though probably pretty fatty. I bet I can make a lower fat alternative.

I decided to take a break from exercising cause I have a pinched nerve in my neck.

I left a msg for the personal trainer but I haven't heard back. I want to start next week.

I'm about 3/4 thru my water intake.

My uncle makes a really good curried chicken salad - the dressing is basically curry powder and mayo, then you stir in rotini pasta, boiled shredded chicken thigh meat, grapes, and peanuts. I use low-fat mayo, chicken breast, and spicy peanuts (because I love spicy stuff) when I make it.

Mmmm.. Allyphoe, that sounds sooo good. The one I had today, had raisins and celery in it on a bed of lettuce. I had WAY too much of it though!! Like 1 1/2 cups! LOL Oh well I had a light dinner.
