Jess - The road to happiness and health :)

Sounds lovely Jessie! A lake, beach, and mountains...sign me up!!! lol I live in Louisiana myself in the southern part of the United States. Not a lot of mountains here (none actually)! lol =) Jessie, your food entry sounds great! I've been meaning to look for the Ryvita...it's crackers right? They say it's pretty healthy. And the almonds and cottage cheese...yummmm! Quick question: Do the low fat stuff have a lot of sugar in them? Sometimes they might have more sugar than the regular kind. Sounds like you're doing great "mate"!! ;)

Thanks Anna :)

Thanks soccerrox too! :)

Yep, Ryvitas are sort of big crackers (they kind of look like rectangles of cardboard ha ha!), they're pretty nice. Especially with tomato and cottage cheese on them :drooling:
I'm not sure about the sugars question, but I'll have a squizzy and get back to you on that! I hope not!

Hi! Thanks so much for coming by my diary and leaving such nice comments! I thought I'd come by (now that i have a few minutes to sit and read...which is rare these days!) and see what you are doing in your life.
And what I can say is: Well done! You have made big changes in your life ...and are seeing some great results! You have every right to be proud of yourself. I think you're definitely on the best road to getting to where you want to be!

It must be SO interesting to live in Australia.. i've always wanted to visit. Maybe I will one day, as I tend to travel a lot.
Right now, I live in France...in the Alps. It's very lovely and the skiing is the best, of course...we're only 10 minutes from a small resort and 45 minutes from Chamonix. So- if you're ever up for skiing, you're welcome to crash at our place. We love meeting new people!

I have to tell you that I am a big Wii Fit fan, too. I love the balance games..though I spend most of my time on aerobics and strength. I especially like the boxing. What do you like?

Okay, anyone want a funny visual? Rox just mentioned the Wii fit balance games...

I rule the hula hoop in my household. I have a wife and two adult daughters, but me, the 6' 7" 243lb 45 y/o man is the king of the hula in my house.. go ahead.. drink in the visual there... you know you wanna... :smilielol5:

Thanks so much Rox :)
France must be so beautiful, I still haven't seen snow yet and I'm 32 now! One day *sigh* ... lol. Thanks for your offer!

Yep Australia is cool, so many things to see - I'd love to buy a Winnebago and do the whole 'Adventure before dementia' thing when the kids grow up and move out.

Hell yeah Wii Fit rocks! I love the free step, strength, step plus, hula, heaps of it really. I love that the kids have fun with it too. My son (he's 6) is a champion with the balance games. My daughter's a bit unco but has fun too (she's 8).

I'm all over Wii Sports too, and am totally addicted to Tennis and Baseball :)
They're so much fun!

Hey Cabbie! I can so picture you getting down with the hula :smilielol5: Classic! It gives you a bit of a workout hey? I have a mate I work with and just last week she was saying I should buy a hoop and give it a go if I'm trying to lose weight (she has a HOT figure and is nearly 50!) and I just laughed. I'd be too embarrassed to do it outside... LOVE the Wii privacy!

I did another work out DVD today 'Cardio Party' and it was not pretty! I am so retarded when it comes to that latin dancing stuff. I felt so dumb, but luckily there was only a snifter of that. Bloody hell those women move so fast though.

I feel great for doing it, and was sweating my hoo-haa off so I guess it did something :) Also got into a fair bit of work with my new toning ball (2kg's).

Cross your fingers for me, it's weigh in time tomorrow morning...

Thanks again to everyone for reading and taking time to comment, it's so great to be in this thing with you guys and not just by myself.

Ok, so now I can't get the image of Cabbie going to town on the hola hoop out of my head.... :smilielol5:

Nice one on the loss Jess.... I really need to lose half a kilo so I can keep up with you. A bit of healthy competition is healthy isn't it?

Have a nice weekend

Anna

Thanks HEAPS you guys :)

Anna, you're on!!! Lol

Hey CG, thanks, and yep the DVD's are a go-er, I'm definitely glad I spent the money. It's all about doing something different for me, I get bored so quickly, so I figure if I can get lots of different things happening I won't get sick of it :)

Hope everyone's having a great weekend too :hurray:

Brekky - Banana and 250ml light soy milk.
Snack -
Lunch - Beef and veggie stirfry (same as yesterday)

Snack - Soy yoghurt and 6 raw almonds.

I've decided to write all the positive things that have come from the past 5 weeks of healthy living.

* My skin is SOOOOOOO much better.
* I never have heartburn anymore, and I used to have it every day.
* I'm now a size 16 all over. Bra, undies, shirt and pants. YAY!
* I want to get up in the mornings.
* I am more active with the kids.
* I'm generally a happier person.
* I feel proud of myself instead of ashamed.
* My hubby is getting more 'action' because I'm feeling better about my body.
* I am saving money because I don't buy myself chocolate and ice creams anymore!!!
* I feel like I'm living instead of existing.
* I feel strong.

I plan on reading this back to myself if I have a dodgy day.

I like this! and it doesn't require a hula hoop.

Yay! I love this list - well done on such brilliant progress. I'm glad you're proud of yourself, I would be!

My brother is living in Sydney at the moment and I'm so jealous, you Aussies live in such a lovely part of the world. I'm tempted to emigrate once I've qualified, I doubt you need more Brits out there though :)

Keep up the awesome work Jess x

I'm just 2 hours down from Sydney! Bet he loves Sydney hey? So much happening there...
My Dad was English, so I say bring on the Brits!!! Lol My cousins and Aunty live over in Portsmouth. I'd LOVE to go and see where Dad was born (Cheshire/Pickmere) and grew up (Wales). :)

Yesterday I over did it a bit on fruit but was hungry as after dinner!

Brekky - Banana and 250ml of light soy milk with some LSA mixed in.
Snack - 1 slice of wholegrain bread.
Lunch - Veggie and beef stiffry with marinade, brown rice, peas, beans, onion, capsicum, carrot.
Snack - 8 raw almonds. 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese.
Dinner - Salad wrap with cheese
Snack - Big slice of watermelon, 1 small mango handful of grapes.

I had a pretty good day, not much exercise though, just lots of reps with hand weights and a shitload of crunches.

It's getting bloody hot over here, I might have to start getting up really early for walks and my DVD workouts.
Have a great day everyone!!! :) Thanks for reading.
