Jess - The road to happiness and health :)

Hi there! I just found your diary! Don't you LOVE it when co workers notice your progress?!?! Good for you!

You do eat so little! I wish I could do that but I'm hungry every 3 hours by the clock! :)

Great job on the weightloss, you got this!!

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks so much - yeah this time I haven't told anyone I'm trying to lose weight. I've done that a couple of times in the past, but then been so ashamed when it didn't happen.

I'm actually trying to eat more, but breakfast is my hardest challenge. It makes me feel really crook to eat so early in the morning. I've never eaten breakfast really, even as a kid, my Mum never made me, so after 30 years, it's so foreign to start now!

I think as I lose a bit and my metabolism really gets going I'll be able to eat a lot more too (healthy stuff of course :) )

Just got to exercise a lot more now and it will be all good.

Hello :)
Today has been pretty cool so far.
Breakfast was a cup of light soymilk and a large banana.
Lunch was a soy, sweet chilli and ginger stirfry with brown rice and veggies (so tasty!)
Dinner will be steamed beans/broccoli/pumpkin and a slice of brown bread.
Snack if I'm feeling like one later - a few walnuts (natural, no salt or anything).

I did a 45 minute workout before lunch.
This morning I noticed I didn't have to hoist my jeans up either. They just kind of slid on :coolgleamA:
While we were shopping I felt more confident. I may still be fat, but I'm doing something about it. Hey and I think we are saving quite a bit of money because I'm not buying any junk food for me anymore, just a bit for the kids.
My hubby is really making an effort too, which I really appreciate.

I was so close to jumping on the scales (well I'm using my Wii Fit to weigh myself) today, but I'm going to wait until Saturday. Better to just do it once every week.

Cheers! Jess

Hey Jess, thanks for your words of support on my intro thread. You seem very enthusiastic and motivated so I know you will do well (and you're already on the right track). I look forward to the before and after pics in the next few months. :)

Hi! No worries at all :)

I am definitely going to give this my best effort, that's for sure.
I haven't acutully taken any before photos :( I'm your typical fat person that hides from the camera! But I'll definitely put some after photos on!

Thanks!

Jess :waving:

Hey Jess
Thanks for popping into my new journal. Good job on the loss so far.

Re breakfast, I've found that as I keep going I feel more and more like having brekkie. I pretty much never eat it immediately though. Usually after exercise.. or after I've been up for at least an hour.

Hey Jess - you are off to a great start!! I agree with Anna regarding breakfast - I usually pack it and bring it to work and eat it after an hour of starting my day. I also pour myself a glass of water in the morning when I wake up and make sure it's gone before I leave the house. That gets my sysytem ready for some food. I was never a breakfast eater either.
Keep it up! Looking forward to reading more!

Good morning!
Thanks so much Cabbie, Anna and CG :)

Great news! Today I weighed in, and I've lost another kg! I am over the moon... I've really tried to step up the exercise this week, and I guess it's paid off!

I'm typing this with sunburn on my neck - I spent a few hours on the beach yesterday walking along in the soft sand (wow that is a leg killer!) while hubby was fishing. It was so lovely to be outside in the fresh air and it was such a perfect day weather wise. I used to avoid the sun whenever possible.

This sounds a bit silly but before I stepped on the scales, I was so worried... I just feel sometimes what if it is only water weight? But I have been drinking at least 3 litres a day so I hope not! I guess I'm just petrified it's not going to happen for me.

Anyway, for now, I'm relieved, and one step closer to that vision I see of me in my head :) the one with the self esteem and size 14 flares on!

Yay well done on the loss.

Love those days at the beach... its finally warming up here so I plan to do some beach walking myself.

Well done on the loss!! Great to see you starting to get the benefits of all of the effort!

I love the size 14 flares vision!!!! Great goal outfit hehehe

Thanks you guys!
Anna the beaches in NZ look so beautiful... glag it's warming up for you :)

jjjay -Flares are so great lol!

So I went to a Halloween party last night, it was a bit of an eyeopener! My mates were all wasted! I'm not a drinker anyway, so I was just having water.

I had fun, and went as Darth Vader. Proud to say I didn't snack at all, and the kids and I made spooky cupcakes to take. We decorated them with black icing and then in white icing drew spiders, ghosts, skulls and spiderwebs on them. They were cool!

I didn't get much exercise in yesterday, so hopefully I'll get some in today, inbetween ferrying the kids to different parties :biggrinjester:

I still haven't had any junk food, and am no longer vegetarian. I've made the decision to eat some lean beef and chicken in my stirfrys. I've tried it a couple of times now and it's going well. I think having more protein will help me with my weight loss. I'm even thinking about the odd boiles egg. Are they OK for weight loss?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!!

:drool5:Boiled eggs are awesome! I eat eggs every day, they are good quality protein and not too many cals. WHen I don't have eggs in the house it s a bad day.

ALso I think adding a bit of lean meat is really good for your nutrition. Its such an easy way to add protein to your diet.

yum I'm feeling hungry:smilielol5:

Thanks Anna,
Yeah I thought for the greater good I'd just go for it. Being a vegetarian on a diet can be seriously limiting... or just a lot extra work!
I'm trying to lower the old carbo intake too :)

Thanks for the tip about the eggs, I wasn't sure if they were a 'nay' or 'yay'!

Howdy :)

I've been eating really well, adding more little healthy snacks like nuts and the odd boiled egg (have to hold my nose when I eat them though, they stink!), to raise my calories a little.

Mainly I've been having fruit for brekky, stirfry veg with a bit of meat or chook for lunch and soups for dinner. It doesn't bother me to eat the the same thing every day... then I don't have to think too much!!!

I've been crook for 3 days though, my son kindly shared his cold with me so exercising has been pretty minimal. I somehow hurt my calf muscle on the Wii Fit too lol, so it's really stiff and sore :(

I'm still feeling happy and positive, and my jeans fely saggy in the butt department yesterday. Gotta LOVE that!

hope your feeling better soon, well done feeling the difference in your clothes.
