From My Couch To A 5K... And Beyond!

Congrats! & Happy Birthday!

Sounds like life is going great for you. :)

Thanks for checking in on me. I'm a lazy bum...correction, I have BEEN a lazy bum. That will change.

Congrats on the run!!!!!!!!!

You are sooo gorgeous by the way, you have beautiful skin!

I know you are training for a 10km, im training for a 10km on October 19th! We can both do it!

Thanks Randy and Margaret! :)

My race this morning went really well!

I finished in 36:08. I know, I know... that's way past what I was hoping for, but listen - the route was LONGER than 3.1 miles! My friend and I were both saying how it felt longer than a normal 5K, and sure enough, it was! We checked our Nike+ info, and BOTH of ours said the route was 3.4 miles! Then we started talking to others, and their Garmins all said the same thing, too! I know .3 of a mile doesn't seem like much extra to run, but that's a good 3 minutes extra on my time! Not that I mind running 3 extra minutes, I just with they would have told us it was longer than 5K! There was a lot of talk about how disorganized it was.

Anyway, I knew I was running faster than before (despite the tons of hills! ), so I knew there was no way it took me 36:08 to finish 5K!

Guess what my pace was?!

10:38 a mile!!!!! :D

My normal is 11:30/12:00 a mile, so 10:38 is AWESOME for me!!!!! I couldn't have been happier with my run! Especially since there were some killer hills involved!!! My actual 5K time was 33 minutes, and the last 3:08 was the extra .3 miles, adding up to the 36:08.

I'm so proud of myself!!!!!

Here's some pictures of my run and afterwards... check them all out!! :)
GOOD JOB girlie!!! AMAZING work on that RUN!!! Happy BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!

....you are SOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL may I add...!!!! AND I LOVE YOUR HOTTTT LEGS!

Happy Birthday! (not sure when exactly it was :) )

Wow, well done on your pace in the race!!! Really, congratulations, and man, your body's hot.... I'm taking a leaf out of your book....

I WILL run 5 kms non stop in 9 weeks (couch to 5k). That is on 6 October.... lemme go note this in my diary (lol!)

Happy belated and a huge congrats on the pace in your race... that's great! Very nice pics, thanks for sharing. :)

Happy be-lated birthday!!!! I don't always make it on here during the weekends, so sorry it's a little late :)

Congrats on your 5k and time. That is awesome. I would be able to definitely feel the extra .3 mile on top of the 3.1 too.

Hope you had an excellent birthday,
Sam

Thank you so, so much to everyone that took the time to stop by with your sweet comments!!!!!

I was out of town visiting James's family, and that's why I have been missing for a few days.

The birthday was great! This week I will be home for a few days, and then on Thursday we head to my hometown for my sister's wedding. On our way home from that, we're stopping at Sea World! Yay! We're trying to end the summer right before it's all over, and I'm back to school. :(

As of right now, we're anticipating some "heavy rain and strong, gusty winds" according to weather.com. I'm ok with that, as our yard is a dead as a door knob thanks to 100+ degrees every freakin' day!!!! I welcome the rain!!!! I can handle a thunderstorm (actually, I enjoy them! :) ) as long as it doesn't get any worse than that!

I feel ya on the yard. We had a bad drought last summer that we are still trying to dig out of. My yard is just dirt with patches of weeds.

Are you sure that isn't my yard you are describing? That is exactly what mine looks like, too!!!

Its so funny because last winter we actually got like 2" of snow one morning. My kids had to play in the neighbors yard because the snow was only laying on the grass it wasnt sticking to the dirt. It was a pitiful site. I have planted grass 3 times this year but no luck. I have to either have a soild test done and add the prper additives or spend lik 5k on sod.

The dirt really isnt that bad when I think about it.

Ha! Dirt has the nice, all-natural look to it!

My grass is so damn crispy, you can't walk on it barefoot! It feels like you are walking on nails!

We spent some money on Scott's Summertime fertilizer, but it did nothing. The crispy, yellow grass (weeds) prevailed!

Glad the bday was good and if I don't hear from ya, have fun at the wedding and Sea World! :)
