From My Couch To A 5K... And Beyond!

Sounds like you had an excellent bday weekend, and you have some other pretty exciting things planned for the rest of the summer....

Our grass isn't the prettiest either this year. We have automatic sprinklers and I don't know if they water them enough. I should ask my brother.

It's kind of a stormy day up here too. I like thunderstorms as well, especially in the summertime.

Ugh....

Sooooo full...

I was craving some cereal, so I gave in and had 1 cup with 1% milk. Man, I'm full! I only had lunch like 2 hours ago, so that's why I'm so full... not because cereal extremely filling. :)

I shouldn't have had such a big snack so soon after lunch! Plus, I know I'll be over my calories now.

But, it was Kashi Go Lean Crunch, so at least it was a healthy cereal!! :D

I have been hungry lately to. I made a 1/2 egg sandwich at like 11:00 last night. I just chowed down on some trail mix at my desk. Almonds, pecans, raisins, dried cherries. Only problem is now I am in bad need of some floss and I dont have any.

I may use a business card when no one is looking.

Seriously, what the f*ck?!

James and I went to a friend's house for dinner and dominoes tonight, and when we get back, what do we find?!

His truck on a freakin' jack. His back 2 tires and rims were stolen while we were gone!

We immediately called the cops, and they came right away. The cop tells us that this is only the 2nd time he's ever had to come to our neighborhood, because it's normally very safe. Lucky us. He also said they'd probably come back for the other two tires and rims. Yay. And there isn't a damn thing we can do about it, because we can't move his truck anywhere, obviously. We plan on calling around to get it taken care of tomorrow, but for tonight, we just have to hope for the best.

So now, we get to pay to have his truck towed to a shop and for 2 tires and 2 rims. But it gets better. His tires and rims aren't factory. He upgraded to 20 inch tires and nice rims (no, not the tacky chrome ones with spinners), so if they can't match his new rims to the front 2 (assuming they aren't stolen tonight), we will have to buy all 4 rims.

Seriously, what the f*ck?!

And this is why we pay extra to live in a safe neighborhood?!

Shame, that sucks... life happens sometimes, don't get too worked up :)

And don't worry about extra cereal yesterday either... everyone need a mid-afternoon bowl of cereal once in a while!!!

I just can't have the "don't worry, be happy" attitude when it comes to this. I think it's total garbage. People invaded our privacy and home and stole from us. The home we spend good money on to live in a "safe" neighborhood. It takes of away some the safe feelings I had about living here.

We are now going to have to shell out $1,000 for towing, tires, and rims so someone else can make money off of ours. I just can't be ok with that!

I understand how you feel. Note that I live in a country ranked somewhere in the top 10 highest crime rates... this touches me very often, as I hear of people around me and ones I used to know being violated.

It is frustrating and unfair. Did not mean you had to make light of it right now, but I guess it's one of those things you just have to deal with and get through!

I'm here if ya wanna vent some more! :bigear:

Thanks! And I'm sorry if it seemed like I was snapping at you. I didn't mean for it to come out like that!

I guess it's still a pretty fresh wound since we only realized it last night at like midnight. We really haven't had time to digest it yet.

Stupid criminals.

I'm sorry to hear that. It really sucks. I was robbed once while we were moving. I guess they realized we werent living there but just coming by to get stuff. Anyway they made off with a couple of guitars and about 2k worth of power tools, TV etc.

The worse part is this. About 2 weeks later I saw one of my guitars in a pawn shop. It was a very distinct model with a red mahogany top, of course since I owned it for about 5 years I knew all the scratches, that the A string buzzed a little at the 12th fret, little things like that. When I talk to the guy who owned the shop he said that unless a serial number or photograph was supplied in the police report there was nothing he could do. I called the police and they confirmed that that was true. But the officer who came and did the report never asked me for any of that. So I had to walk out of this pawn shop and leave my 800.00 guitar that had just been stolen from my home hanging there for this sleazy shop owner to sell and make money off of.

Oh no!!!!

It's so unfair how people can get away with that kind of crap!!!!

I know it could have been much, much worse than just the rims and tires, but it's so unjust! I would never do anything to harm anyone else's stuff, and yet crappy people get away with it all the time! And then they get to turn around and MAKE MONEY off of OUR stuff!

Aw I'm sorry too lady... but it could have always been worse. But it does make you second guess your neighborhood... I'm sure it has caused a few worries.

Hopefully they can match the rims so you're not out that extra money. Does insurance cover any of that???

We're hoping it does! But there will still be a deductible, and I'm not counting on the rims being found. I'm sure they've already been sold.

The real fun part is that we are leaving town TOMORROW, so we have to get this all taken care of today!

Here's the damage:

Damn shame, thats a sweet truck. Di the leave the jack stands? If so I guess that is something. They coulda dropped the whole thing and caused mechanical damage as well.

Thanks! I think his truck is sexy... it's the reason I gave him a chance. :D

It's funny you say that about the jack stands, because that's exactly what I was thinking. They did leave them, and you can tell they are both brand new. I was really glad they didn't let the truck hit the ground and cause even more damage. They actually didn't do any damage to the truck, thankfully. They were kind criminals.

Tyly that really sucks. Do you have a homeowner's association? Because quite frankly, where the hell were your neighbors when this was happening? And also, maybe you can lift prints off the jacks? Just a thought before it gets towed and someone else touches them. Best of luck!

I'm not a homeowner... we rent. And I was wondering the same thing... how did no one notice?!?! My only guess is that it happened after dark and they were quick and quiet!

I also thought about the prints thing, but the cop didn't seem too interested. I guess they're too busy for the small stuff! I'm sure the tires and rims have already been sold off.

Oh man...

His grandma just called with the ordering information we needed, because she's the one that bought them the first time...

The tires are $250 each, and the rims are $800 EACH!
