From My Couch To A 5K... And Beyond!

Congrats to your sister!

I ate way too much this weekend too! I don't know what the hell got into me... It's okay, we are both on track today! I should have cleaned more this weekend. I made myself a nice pita sandwich thingy here for lunch soon that is full of dark-green leafies, so I'm excited, lol...

Hey there,
I just started on this forum last week so I've been reading a lot of diaries. Yours definitely caught my attention. I would LOVE to be able to run a 5k. And I have been saying this for a couple of years now, so it is time for me to get off my butt!

I hurt my knee a couple of weeks ago so I've been taking it slow, trying to let it heal. (Didn't hurt it that badly, it's just really painful.) Anyway, I was so excited to read about your success and the 5k's that you have run.

GREAT JOB!

I looked around at some of the races coming my way and there is one on November 2nd called the Doggie Dash & Dawdle (proceeds go to animal humane society...) and I would love to run with my dog. So, I think I am going to start your training program and get myself ready. That gives me about 10 weeks, plenty of time to complete the 8 week program.

Thanks for your diary. Good luck in your continued success.

Do I see you're at your goal weight? And i missed it?! Congratulations! How do you feel? Let me know how maintenance goes, because I have a feeling I'm going to need some help with that once I get there.

I ate too much for dinner this weekend. I know what you mean. Good thing I'm a good bunny during the week!

I am definitely going to get back on track and behave myself after the weekend's overeating! Grrr. I don't do it often (especially not days in a row!), but now that I did, I feel like crap. Here's hoping the sluggish feeling goes away quickly!

Hey girlie, just wanted to stop by and say hello. Hope all is well w/you and the running is going great!!

Thanks!!!! I've been slacking a little lately, but I am definitely getting my butt back into gear! After all, I have a 10K to tackle on August 23! I don't need to ever slack, because I always have such a hard time getting back on the wagon.

Thank you so very much!!! I wish there was an animal 5K around here!

I started out very slowly as well... that's why the couch to 5K program was so great for me! It is designed for the "non runner", which is exactly what I was! I hated running, but I was able to run a 5K after completing the 9 week program! It got me into better shape and it also made me a lot more confident, because for years I felt like I couldn't run, and the program showed me that I could do it!

I wish you much success... keep us posted!!! :)

Oh man, I'm such a bad example! :)

I was at my goal weight before this weekend! Lol. My sister got married, and my family also celebrated my birthday since I wasn't there for it, so I did some overeating!

Before that, I really wasn't having a hard time with maintenance. I was pretty much just doing what I had always been doing. I did gradually increase my calories by a little, but I was still working out just as much.

Now I'm back to having the last 3/4 pounds to lose! Oops! :)

Do you have any before and after pictures up? I wanna see the pics from when you started to now. Always inspiring.

3/4? Thats nothing. You look great anyway.

Aww! You're so sweet! I just hate that it's so hard for me to get back on track! It's not as though I've done much damage, but once I start to slip, I have a hard time going back to determined Tyly. Make sense? Once I get back into my routine it will be no problem... it's the getting back into the routine that's the tricky part! I know I won't stay off the beaten path for long at all, though. I've come too far!!!

Aww, thanks!

I wish my computer wouldn't have crashed, so I would have true "before" pictures... the only ones I have now aren't at my biggest, but there's definitely still a difference!

The before in this one is close to my biggest, but the after is several months ago. My face is a bit thinner now than it was then.

You may have seen this one. The before isn't my biggest. I had already started losing weight at that point! The after shot was me at about 160, so I'm close to 15 pounds lighter now than I was then! Plus, my hair was a lot longer then than it is now! Sorry I don't have a more current one!
