From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Congrats on the 300 day streak and the goal reset. Looks like a solid plan and a great attitude heading into October.

I'm working towards a 40 mile month this month and planning for 50 next month. Biggest issue is that my miles are slow so the long runs are eating up a big chunk of the day

Yay for no gain Q! That's a bonus. Now, we'll see you head towards your goal. Sometimes it's good just to have a break, xo C

Nice work running K&D! Those miles will get quicker really soon. You don't need to push your speed either. You can run slow all the time and you'll get faster. Every time I've ran really slow for a good chunk of time I'm faster when I push my pace.

Thanks Cate! My break has lasted two months when I check my past weigh ins.

So 256.4 and 24.6% BF. So the wright's up and the bf is down from yesterday. My guess is that I'm 255 and 25%. Not for long!

20:25 2 miles yesterday

255 and 25% is awesome. Sounds like you've maintained a lot of lean body mass as you've dropped a lot of weight which will come in handy for dropping even more weight next month.

You're right about going slow to go fast although it takes a lot to convince the brain. 10 minute miles is a nice pace and what I'm working back to eventually.

So day 300 of the runstreak was a 29:25 5K
Big hearty and well deserved congratulations on Day 300!!! And a great time too!

I'm not sure I've ever done anything for 300 staright days, including sleep. I suppose I've eaten for 300 straight days before. Oh and been rejected by a woman in a bar. Other than those two things, I don't think I've ever done anything for 300 straight days before. :D

As far a 10th of a pound a day, that of course isn't ideally what you had hoped. But 30 pounds lost is 30 less that you now still have to lose. So it's a win even if it's a more modest one than you would have liked. I do it all the time, but it's important not forget how far you've climbed.

Anyway congrats again and keep up the good work.

Thanks K&D! I guess I'm pretty solid.
Thanks Cate!
Thanks LaMa! I'm working on it.
Thanks for the pep talk Vee!

So 252.6 this morning with 22.9% on the bf monitor. I remeasured and got a lower number. I didn't lose 5% overnight, but it's a new low and it will be interesting to see what tomorrow says.

I've been pushing on the running and eating better but not great. The increase in miles has increased the appetite but I'm fighting it.

28:43 5K Friday
18:02 2 miles yesterday

Going in the right direction and 22.9% body fat, even if it isn´t completely reliable, sounds like a very good thing!

Hi Q- 22.9%, accurate or not is a good BF percentage. You are looking really good & your health overall must be so much better than when you started out. Keep it up mate. You're in this for life, xoxo Cate

Thanks LaMa!
Thanks Cate!

The 22.9% stayed today but the weight shot up to 259.2. That's nearly 7 pounds! I'm rather sore from splitting firewood yesterday so that's part of it, but damn. Yesterday was 1 mile ran as I over did it with the firewood and was beat.

Any chance you were still carrying the splitting axe for the last weigh in? I'm sure it was a fluke and will drop back to normal quick.

Congrats again on the BF% results.

I wish! My weight is swinging madly in a last ditch effort to avoid going permanently lower. I am so sore all over and that's a definite factor. That was the first time splitting wood since before my back issues (years) and I did it until I blistered through my work gloves. Having good cardio lets you beat the hell out of yourself. I also hauled and stacked the wood, went for a bike ride, ran a mile, cooked part of dinner and helped with breakfast for the week before cleaning out our closet.

The back feels good which was the big worry with wood splitting and biking.

Doing heavy unaccustomed exercise in this case splitting wood, can cause your muscles to retain fluid while they heal.

The DOMS this morning tells me you might be right Tru.

Thanks LaMa! I've waited a long time for this big of a test and I'm stoked with it so far.

Hey there Polly! Thanks!

So yesterday was a super sweaty 2 miles ran, a bike ride, and changing the bar and chain on my saw. I have more dead trees to cut and more splitting to do on the one I downed. Standing dried Quercus nigra and Quercus falcata or water oak and southern red oak.

259. 0 this morning and 29.2% BF. More like BS. Oh well I did have a big dinner but nothing ridiculous. So 7% and 7 pound swings. I had to wear my watch a notch looser last night for my run so even my wrists are in on it.

Great job on the runs and the killer workouts. I'm also a big fan of the exercise for firewood program and can't believe how many times a single piece of firewood will warm you up before it gives off any heat inside the house.

It's great exercise for sure K&D and Cate!

So 258.0 and 29.2% BF this morning after a 1.7 mile run last night. I wanted the weight to drop down as quick as it had jumped up, but that isn't happening. Oh well. I have still been eating too much in the evenings despite trying to stay as busy as I can. I'm working on it.
