From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Wow Q- you have been busy! We must get some Kale in too- thanks for reminding me. I might wait until we get back in 2 weeks though as there won't be anyone here to water them. Hope you're knees are OK xoC

Thanks Cate! The knees feel better today.
So I am still going with the 5K runs and last night was fairly fast for a road run. I split hauled and stacked firewood for an hour or so. That tree is finally all split and I just have 2 or 3 more wheelbarrow loads to haul out of the woods and stack and then it's on to another dead oak nearer to the house. This tree I'm finishing up was more than a cord of wood and I am going to have to make room for more stacks.

I have still been eating too much in the evenings. I'm working to the point of exhaustion every day and then blowing it by gobbling up a ton of food. I am enjoying being so productive, but I've got to stay in control once I'm done.

Maybe you can eat a healthy snack in between working so hard? Might convince your brain you don´t "deserve" to pig out afterwards.

Thanks LaMa and solid advice!
Thanks Cate!

Yesterday was odd. I worked for 2.5 hours straight clearing brush, felling and limbing the big dead oak by my carport, running my 5k, and then hauling and stacking the last of the water oak. I got a shower and ate a light dinner at 9:00 and that was it. I wasn't hungry and has nothing but water and my little plate of tofu and veggies.

I have been feeling off lately and decided that I'm relying too heavily on coffee. I've decided to cut out coffee, chips, chocolate, and all alcohol for the remainder of October. That and 93.3 miles (155K) of running should make for some awesome progress.

Great job on the 5k streak and good luck with the coffee. I had been cutting back on coffee but think I'm reaching a bit of a withdrawal state.

Given the amount of work and running you're doing I'm sure October is going to be a great month for shaking up the weight loss for you.

Look out! Here goes Q! That should make a big difference. It sounds like you mean business Sir. 6kg challenge is indeed challenged :D

Thanks K&D, LaMa, and Cate!
Two days of perfect and the weight went up. I think I'll cut out the scale for the rest of the month too.

I just did a slow 5K yesterday and took a rest from all of the additional work. I got stung by a wasp on my back as I was going out for my run. I feel so tired and sore right now, but I'm sticking with it. I know once I get past the coffee withdrawal I won't think feel as run down.

Nice work with the 5kms Q! You're a pocket rocket! Bugger about the wasp sting, evil bugs they are :(
good work on the coffee/alcohol/etc.. cut out. It's a toughy, but it'll be worth it. Sounds like you're working very hard- keep up the amazing work!

Getting through the withdrawal phase will pay off soon, if you can tough it out and still manage your 5k´s that´s pretty amazing!

Awesome work as usual Q! Putting the scales away for a month sounds like a good idea. I might be in with a chance in the 6kg challenge :smilielol5: xoC(a big hi to E please. How is she going?)

Thanks everybody! I'm feeling much less sluggish today.
I managed a couple hours of intensive work last night with running the chainsaw until dark and then running my 5k. That was the 8th 5k in a row and day 316 of the runstreak.

I think coffee and alcohol are tied together for me. Kind of an upper and downer cycle. When I do one to excess then I do the other to excess and then the frequency goes up. Like every other thing in my life I need to work on moderating it, but getting away from it is a good idea for me now.

Thanks Cate!

1.5 hours of splitting red oak as fast as I safely could. that's how long it took me to get blisters on both hands through my work gloves. I didn't think to measure the diameter, but the bottom round made 29 sticks of firewood with my normal splitting size. It got considerably smaller quick, but I probably got eight to ten rounds split up. The chainsaw isn't working right and think it's the bar that is the problem. I wore out the bar putting way too much pressure on a dull chain for too long.

5K will be at the gym today as we are heading into town.

5K was 30:00 and then E and I went to see The Martian which was quite entertaining and we'd both read the book and felt it was a good adaptation.

I got the new bar for the chainsaw and so I'll be cutting more rounds in the morning.

Everyone's been raving about the Martian. I haven't seen a movie in the theater since Avatar, though, so I'll have to add it to my list to watch when it comes out on demand. I hope the blisters don't bug your hands! I've become such a city girl, the only blisters I get on my hands are when I'm using the wrong knife to cut vegetables. How pitiful!
