Frogged's Lily Pad

I hope you have enough people that are overly excited that you have turned up with the post to balance it out! I know I was out waiting for the postman this morning because I was a little overly excited haha...I was wearing my antler headband too so I think he may have been a little amused by me :blush5: maybe you need an antler headband, its hard to be mean to someone in one!

lol, Andie! I would've loved to see that! My boss said I have to wear a Santa hat on Saturday when I work, haha :p

Just been so absurdly busy! An avalanche of packages every day! I sometimes have to help other carriers with their routes because they just can't handle the workload + overtime. Getting overtime = bad, bad, bad! The suits don't like us getting more money for working longer hours than we're supposed to. I guess because the usps is expected to go bankrupt sometime next spring? Doh.

Anyway, yeah. It's INSANITY right now! lol  I must've climbed 5000 steps today just helping out another carrier! So glad I'm fit now and can handle it without falling apart when I get home! I still managed to belt out a quick 55 minute session for just a little over 5 miles tonight.

Still hovering around 187ish, so this retention is being a bit of a nuisance, but that's nothing new! hehe

Off to catch up on some journals! Hope everyone is doing jolly! :p

Yep, sounds like America! lol

It's almost over.. almost over.. almost!

I've had some friends tell me that I should submit my story to a magazine, specifically to People Magazine's Half Their Size, which I'm tempted to do at some point. I'm still working on getting passed my social anxiety and shyness though, so stepping into a major spotlight right now is something that scares me. I would love to at some point, but maybe not until I've reached my ultimate goals.

Those goals will happen next year, so yeah, perhaps keep an eye out on the magazine stands and/or TV sometime in 2012! hehe ;)

We'll see! I do love all types of suggestions, Crym! Never be afraid to post them, and that goes for anyone who reads my journal here!
smile.gif

Hah, well.. fell right into the Holiday spirit today! I completely lost count of how many cookies and other misc sweet things I ate today. Oh goodness!

Let's just say I'm feeling a bit like Santa with a full belly.

Had a loss of about 1.8lb this week, but next week is gonna be quite a chore. Although I have tomorrow off from work, so I'll be spending a majority of my time working off this day no doubt!

As a gift to my Uncle this year, I decided to give him a before/after picture of myself. He has a little homemade gym at his place where he exercises and he likes to keep a collection of motivational pictures on the wall. He has pictures of my cousins, my aunt, and other various things. He's told me he has always wanted a before/after photo, so I decided to make one for him this year as I recently managed to come across my old 'Before' clothes. I printed it out in high gloss and framed it for him. I wanted to share it as I know how much we all enjoy pics here!

Yes, that is the same exact shirt and pair of pants in both shots! Those pants are 60x32 and, while tight on me in the beginning, could almost double as a camping tent now, lol. The shirt is a 2x because I needed it to really cling for my first photo, but now it's like a boat sail on me. :p

I plan to get more photos like this up when I reach my main goals, but this was just a little something I wanted to put together for Christmas.

Speaking of which, hope you all had a great Christmas!

AFreaking amazing frogged, you should color yourself green mess your hair a bit, than
You will totally look Luke the hulk.

I'm sure that you will get through this holiday with no problems, because you have already proven that you have such amazing will power, that no amount of cookies or any other type of food, will hold you back from getting to your goal.

Think everyone sort've crashed on the christmas diet.. big respect to anyone strong willed enough to survive it, but I know i sure as heck wasn't! Ah well, s'only once a year!

hope Santa brought you everything you wanted! :D

You're too kind, Crym! Too kind! Smokin hot?? Oh my. I don't know about that, but thank you, Crym! :blush5:

I will submit my story around at some point, but there's a lot going on right now - even with the holidays winding down! Seems like whenever I get a handle on one thing, several more issues pop up that I have to deal with. That's just life I guess :\

Santa was kind to me this year - several Amazon gift cards among other great items! Hope yours was great too!

Thanks MLB! LOL, I was actually just looking at popular hair dying products on Amazon just the other day
smile.gif
I'd actually like to dabble with doing some green in my hair.. anything to distract from the increasing grey hair that keeps sprouting up. Oy.. :)

Yeah, I consumed way WAYY too many cookies and other sweets. I have such a sweet tooth and there was just soo many items about (some from family, others from customers on my route). Man oh man. But, I had Monday off from work, so I spent a great deal on the treadmill! Did just a little over 11 miles, so hopefully that burned off a couple of those cookies
smile.gif

Gonna try my absolute best to hit 177 this Sunday to really start off the New Year in a spectacular fashion! Although if I don't, I won't be any less discouraged. I know I'll get there before my 29th birthday in March, which is something I had planned years ago anyway!

Thanks again for the kind words!
smile.gif

Frogged you look incredible in the december 2011 pic! Such a huge motivation for me, also thanks so much for the comment on my diary, was so sweet, made me smile:)

Hope you had a fab christmas and have an amazing new year:)

:blush5:

Thanks, Irish!
smile.gif

I'm glad I could make you smile! I mean it too, you're an incredibly encouraging and motivating person on this forum. If you're anything in real life like you are on this forum, it would be an honor to have you as a friend! Those people at your job are fools and it's their loss if they're too snobby to open themselves to other people.

Christmas was good! Tiring though, of course.

I fell into a bit of a cold, but it's nothing too awful. I just got over a cold like a month ago, but that one really had me hindered :\ This one, I'm trying to kick it's ass before it really sinks its claws into me. I've been downing NyQuil AM + PM for the last couple days, as well as popping Cepacol tablets. So far, it's just been a bit of a sore throat and a runny nose, but it hasn't affected my exercise much - which is good!
smile.gif

Really shooting for that 177 number this Sunday!

Thanks a million Frogged, so so kind. It was only a christmas part time job( im in college) so my contract ended today. DELIRA.

Hope the start of the new year starts amazing for you, im off to show my sister a picture of you before and after, she will flip out! So awesome

hehe, anything to help inspire others, Irish! Go for it!
smile.gif

Is your sister looking to lose some weight too or no?

I picked up a copy of People Magazine's Half Their Size earlier this evening. I'm planning on submitting my own story to them, but it's an annual thing. So maybe next year, you could possibly see me in there if it goes well!

So today, I didn't gain as much weight as I thought. After all the cookies I ate, I thought for sure I'd be up 10+, but it was only about 8. That's not bad at all
smile.gif

Just gonna focus and do about 7 miles per day on the treadmill. I've already done half today, and ate my usual Kashi, some fiber bars, and a veggie sub. There was some mozzarella on the sub along with some pickles and mayo, but the bread was what and it was stuffed mostly with shredded lettuce - really good!

I'm also staining and polishing some of the hardwood floor area in my house today. The fumes are a bit strong, but it looks soooo much nicer now!

My bedroom is kind of blocked off as I typed this while waiting for the treatment to dry, so I may not be able to do the next 3.5 miles of my routine until later on today
smile.gif

I'll do it, even if it's not until midnight! hehe

I'm just putting this out there now.... If you end up in People magazine (which wouldn't surprise me at all, as your story is amazing and you're handsome as heck) I'm demanding an autographed copy. :D

Good luck with your 3.5 miles tonight!

Make that 2 autographed copies :)

Totally agree with Jen:)Yeah my sister wants to lose some weight too. She was astonished by the 2 pictures i showed of you! She was like ' is that the same person? how is that possible' haha

Oh my god, you should so enter the People's magazine half their size issue, i know you would get picked, it would be so great:) I love that magazine for the celebrity gossip. I don't buy it since its kind of expensive over here but i do go on the online website all the time.

Consider it done!
smile.gif

I wish I didn't have to wait another year to do it, but that means I'll just be even skinnier then in the next issue as I definitely plan to hit my goal weight this year (and then some)

Got the last bit of my exercise in too! Had to be like Spider-Man and sort of cling to the walls and swing around through doorways to reach my room just to avoid stepping on the floor, hehe

I'll have to be sure to ask you all to PM your addresses so I can mail them to you
smile.gif

Ok, getting ahead of myself here. I hope I get picked, but it's no guarantee I will. I don't want to disappoint anybody, so I'll just say if it does happen, I'll be more than happy to fulfill any requests! lol

I'm glad to see you posting more recently. I know you weren't feeling all too great, but I hope you're feeling better now and will keep up with regular updates!

Haha, yeah it's like a whole new identity now!

I can run into people I used to know and they have no idea who I am now. Old co-workers, friends, etc. It's like I disappeared and can start fresh. Pretty cool in some situations, I must be honest.
smile.gif

Once I hit my 200 mark, I'll submit an e-mail to the publication. I'm not sure exactly how the time frame works for their segment, but maybe they've already started compiling info and stories for the next one? Hmmm.

At any rate, yeah, I'm gonna try my best (as always)!
smile.gif

AWell look at you all handsome in your Christmas pic ;)

Thanks for finding time to stop by my pad and say hello! It's always nice to hear from you and I trust you're doing well also!

I will submit my story! I just hope I get chosen. There's a lot of amazing people out there doing great things and inspiring others, so we'll see. Maybe I'll be one of the lucky few picked next year

Heya Crym!

I know, I know.. 3 days. Time sure flies. I've been juggling a couple different things recently, some good and some bad
smile.gif
I do still visit the forums daily, but recently it's been tricky being able to sit down and formulate responses to the threads I frequent. Not just with time, but also with energy. I've been exercising a lot lately, and I can feel it taking a bit of a toll. My retention weight is getting tougher and tougher to break off as I get closer to my goal weight. I've been doing 7-10 miles per day this week, although today has been really warm and I just finished a 2.5 mile session and felt REALLY hot. Really sweating, so I stopped to sit in front of a fan for a while
smile.gif
I plan to do 2 more 2.5 mile sessions though once the sun goes down a bit and it gets cooler.

Hoping tomorrow is a loss, but I weighed in this morning at 182. I have to be under 178.8 by tomorrow morning in order to have a 'green' entry on my chart, so I'm gonna do what I usually do in this situation: run my ass off

Off to catch up on journals now!

Thanks for checking up on me ladies, hehe. It is appreciated and makes me feel good!
smile.gif

Hey,

Looks like you've been doing well and been more dedicated over the holiday weeks!! Hope the madness has died down since Christmas
smile.gif
and that you had a good new years break! Hope 2012 has many exciting things planned for you and you finish your incredible journey!!! Do you have any ideas as to what you want to achieve this year?

On the exercise front .. with the physical strains of your job as well, are you sure you're not overtraining yourself? If you're exercising so much, have you upped your caloric intake as well to stop starvation mode? Maybe you should try something different instead of the treadmill to give those muscles a break - maybe try weight training? Maybe you're at that point now where resistance training and weights would be more beneficial than constant cardio? (Would mean weight gain, but from muscle!) I've started pumping weights while on the running machine - you definitely feel it. Up to you of course, just wondering if switching things around for a week would work to your advantage.. Don't overdo it though mate, give yourself a day off now and then. As you always wisely say to me, it's not a race!

I know what you mean about the retention though - if i have pizza, I spend the next god knows how long paying for it. It's still worth doing imo, just to shock the metabolism, but if your body is in starvation mode then obviously it can be counterproductive until you've brought yourself back to a good daily level of calories.

Chip up!

Hehe, my cheery face!

I was in a particularly cheery mood last night, but in really no condition to post (aka tipsy), tehe
smile.gif
However, me and a few other forum members utilized the Chat Room feature pretty good last night for a few hours. It was fun!
smile.gif

You might be right about the over-training aspect. I definitely run a lot. I've been running every day (even Sunday) for the last few months. Although I only do half of what I normally do on Sunday, but still, I push myself hard during that session just like every other day. I do very light weight training Mon/Wed/Fri with a 35lb kettle bell my Uncle gave me. It's not much, just a few repetitions, coupled with some sit-ups and a few push-ups. Nothing too intense, and I usually get it all done in about 5-10 minutes.

Yep, I need to take my own advice sometimes, I admit. It's not a race and we'll all get there in time. It's just that a lot of doors are opening up for me now with my weight loss and I keep aiming for small targets to hit before I walk through them - and I want to walk through them asap! :p

So yeah, as always, great advice, Crym! I always appreciate it and sometimes it's good to get reminders too as you go along since this journey can get pretty crazy at times, hehe
smile.gif

Starvation mode is something I tip toe around I think some weeks. I definitely feel great hunger some evenings, but I just chew gum like crazy and drink (water usually) to counteract it. It helps and usually I'm feeling 'ok' by the time I go to bed. But, next time I eat something 'heavy' with calories/sodium, the weight takes off like a rocket and then it takes days/weeks to get back to where I was.

Well, maintenance mode is coming up soon for me, so I'm just planning to do some reading and research, followed by adjustments in my diet/exercise until I find a suitable balance
smile.gif

Let's hope that balance includes a bit more cookies! ;)

Hi Andie
smile.gif

Madness has died down (thankfully)! There's still a few lingering crazy days, but nothing compared to how it was a few weeks ago! Eesh.

The break was good, but short. Although my job never really has 'vacation' days, as the mail never stops and we just get dumped on even more when we come back. Having a Monday off is bad, bad, bad. That means, we have all of Sunday, Monday, AND Tuesday's mail volume to deal with when we come back. Ugh.. Not. Fun. But, job security I guess (as my boss says).. hah. :p

As far as what I want to achieve this year, well, let's see..

Definitely want to hit my goal weight. That's top on my priority list, and I will. Then, I'd like to travel a bit. I'm going to NY this weekend, and I just recently submitted the paperwork for my first us passport. I plan on possibly going to Canada sometime in the near future to visit a friend. Then, if I can get the time off and the finances in order, perhaps Germany later on in the year with some friends (Oktoberfest!!)

Then, I'm looking into joining a gym, working on getting my PTC (Personal Trainer Certification), and also contour surgery. That is, if I can get the money for it. We'll see. I'll talk to my doctor more in depth at some point and see what kind of options are available.

It's gonna be a busy, but fun, year!

AI think you will reach any goal you set Frogged! and traveling sounds great....its my favorite thing....Europe is so on the bucket list for us...I am thinking for our 20th in a few years. Enjoy your new health and body anyway you can...you earned it!
