Frogged's Lily Pad

Hey Froggy, how are you going?? Haven't seen you post for a few days... hope you aren't working too hard!! Take care

Haha, yeah I'm still here, Luz! In a bit of a tizzy with the constant barrage of customer's Christmas presents! It's making me a tad loopy because now UPS is dumping their workload on us because we hashed out some kind of deal with them not too long ago. So now not only are we delivering mail and our own packages, but we're picking up quite a nice collection from brownie as well..:svengo:

I'm a modern-day Santa, just now without the girth that usually goes along with it! hehe :p

It's all good though. Keeps me active and busy. I managed another 2lb loss last week, so that makes it 198.6 pounds total lost now! Only 1.4lb away from hitting the 200lb milestone!

However, I actually have plans to visit NYC this weekend to tour around and see the Christmas decor with some friends. The plan is to leave Saturday and get back sometime Sunday evening. It'll be tricky since I usually exercise and whatnot on Saturday, and this will be the first time I've taken a break from work to travel since I started my regimen, so I'm gonna have to see about bringing my scale/laptop with me so I can update my stats on Sunday morning.
smile.gif
I figure all the walking around we'll be doing will make up for the lack of a treadmill, so I'll just have to be careful with any food items that we'll be partaking in while visiting.

It would be so cool to hit my 200lb weight loss achievement along with a visit to NYC (hope I didn't just jinx myself)! hehe. I only went there once as a kid when I was around 4 or 5, but I don't remember any of it.

Should be fun!
smile.gif

Wow, that's awesome! You're so close to 200 lbs lost. I hope you enjoy your trip to NYC. I've never been, but I don't think it's my type of place.

I know you usually eat the same things everyday. I was wondering if you've been out to eat at all since losing weight? Or will this be the first time?

Thanks Munch!

I hope I enjoy it too!

Yeah, I've been out to eat a few times since I started. Luckily, it's typically on a Sunday where I usually indulge anyway. If not on a Sunday, then I usually just try to make the best choice and bring gum along with me to chew after I feel like it's enough - even if I'm still hungry!

I'm telling ya, gum is a lifesaver, because I definitely think I would continue to eat certain things without it sometimes.

NYC sounds amazing.. have never been there myself, but my parents and my brother have.. both said it was a very busy and enjoyable city! Make sure you take lots of pictures! Have an awesome time! :D And I'm sure you'll stay on track.. you have a lot of self disipline, and should be proud of that! JUST SAY NO! :DD

Heya Crym!
smile.gif

Yeah, I was a bit surprised! I already have an idea of what gym I'll probably go with. It's only a few minutes from my house and a few people I know already go there frequently.

I've already looked into online courses a little bit. They're not too expensive, so it's definitely something I'm considering. Though I'd like to talk face-to-face first to someone who could possibly aid me in pursuing this career before I start really putting down money. I'm sure though, once all is said and done, I'll be able to attract a pretty good list of clients thanks to my experiences and past history. We'll see!
smile.gif

I have no doubt the trip to NYC will be quite something! I'm still pretty camera shy, but I'll bet a few shots of me will be taken and surface somewhere, hehe :p The plan has changed slightly though. It seems we'll only be going for one day, Saturday, instead of a whole weekend thing. If more people were going, we may have stayed overnight, but nah. We're just gonna leave early on Saturday and get back in the evening sometime.

Ah well, should still be an interesting time! We'll have to really run around to make sure we see and experience as much as possible in the few hours we'll be there!

Eh, well the NYC trip has been postponed. :) It seems as though some people that were planning on coming won't be able to now due to Christmas-related obligations with their families, so we're just going to choose another time when everyone is a little more free with their schedules. It was sort of a last minute thing anyway.

We'll definitely be going soon though! Hopefully before all the Christmas decorations disappear, but who knows. Kinda bummed, but oh well. I guess now I'll just focus on hitting the 200lb loss mark without having any sort of distraction this week.
smile.gif

Although there are some friends of my roommates coming to visit tomorrow night into Saturday, and we'll be making some food I don't normally eat. It's healthy stuff, but probably more sodium than I'd need, so I'll have to be careful with that since we all know how bad retention weight can screw you on the scale!

Maybe I'll just stick with my bars.

Hey Frog!!!!!!! That sucks about your trip being cancelled, I hope you can get out there sometime soon!!! I'd love to see New York!

Ahhh and how exciting you're so close to 200lbs lost!! Fully understand that you feel it'll be easier to control food now, I always stress out a little when I have to get into a social situation that involves me not having control over what I'm eating. Though I haven't really had any too recently, it's just people looking at me like I'm mental when I'm at work and the boss is shouting everyone fried chicken and chips and I say no lol... But then again, I get picked on pretty much every time I eat something at work it seems. I think it's because people tend to get defensive about what they're eating, and unfortunately this small town has a fairly high obesity percentage... I'm not being mean or anything, but I get picked on at work for eating sandwiches and bars while everyone else is eating an entire packet of chips and packet of biscuits just for morning tea. It's pretty frustrating. I even have someone picking on me for walking again at the moment!!

Anyhoo... How's the parcel delivering going?? Is it more mental now Christmas is just over a week away? (Hehe, I still can't wait!!)

Yeah, I know you weren't being mean or anything!
smile.gif
I know what you mean about being defensive. My roommate is that way too sometimes about the things he eats. I try not to say anything, but just tonight, he had a big helping of pasta salad that he made himself. Looked really good and there was a fair amount still sitting on the stove after he helped himself. The temptation was definitely there because I was/am famished right now, but once again, my gum is just so invaluable in these situations. A friend once asked me if I was a spoke person for my brand because I advertise it so much, but I'm not! It's just one of the greatest tools I've used for weight loss and I want everyone to be aware!
smile.gif

Don't let anyone give you crap about leading a beneficial lifestyle! They're probably frustrated that they're unable to attain such discipline, which is unfortunate. But there's no need to try and get a rise out of someone just because that person has resolved to live healthy. I wish I could get my roommate just as motivated, but he's more than content with just sitting back on the sofa after he gets off work and watching TV. He hears me running all the time (it shakes the house!), and he'll make the occasional snarky comment when I tell him about my upcoming milestones, so I just wish there was more I could do. He's a big 6' 5'' ~300lb italian guy, and he has lost weight in the past, but he just doesn't have the willpower right now. :\

Oh, and work is completely mental. As the day starts, more and more packages keep arriving at odd times in the morning. So, just when you think you have the mountain of packages organized, sorted, and marked.. BAM! Another truck shows up and parcels start getting thrown at you again. It's maddening!

A customer today said, 'Thank you, Santa!' as I handed her an armful of Amazon parcels, haha! :p

The deadline is coming up, and all the last minute shoppers are definitely scrambling! I feel it! But it should be over soon - that's the only silver lining in this craziness.
smile.gif

Oh, and I know I have been slacking on my diet/exercise numbers, but that's because not much has changed. Still eating around ~2000-2200 calories and I'm averaging 6 miles per day on the treadmill @ roughly 70min.
smile.gif

AThe "its just one" or its the "holidays" ...is beyond on my last nerve this week!! it took me 6 weeks to re-lose my cruise weight...they just don't get it....or refuse to get it!!

You do what you have to do to survive the friends visit!! its hard!! I know!!

You still amaze me with your awesome work out schedule!! on top of a physical job!! I sit at a computer all day and its hell to come home and do an hour! ..haha

Ok, so.. not good. :)

As I type this, my belly is packed full of junk. I did well all day up until about 5pm, then my roommate's cousin, Richie, and his wife, Christie arrived. They're really great, outgoing people! But we started cooking things and hanging out. I drank a bit, then drank more.. and more. Eventually, I was being fed shots, and well, being hungry mixed with alcohol can be a REALLY bad combination! My willpower was definitely waving 'Bye Bye!' as I got more intoxicated.

Even though I met my caloric limit at about 5pm (~2200 calories), I probably had easily over 2000 calories worth of things from 6pm - 10pm alone. I'm a bit more lucid now, and I plan to do some running before collapsing into bed, so hopefully my retention weight won't be so horrible in the morning. I'm off tomorrow too due to our plans of going to NYC, so I plan to be focused like a laser all day and spend the majority of my time on that treadmill - even if I'm just walking at a leisurely pace! My roommate and everyone are going to New Jersey for a Christmas-related family event, so I'll have the whole house to myself all day. No distractions!

It was fun though, and we all have to live a little, it's just I suppose I go a little excessive when I do.
smile.gif

I had a good amount of Captain Morgan, along with some cake, a few ice cream cookies, chips, dip, and some other misc items. Erf.

Well, I binged. Plain and simple. I won't let it kill my resolve though. I know I'll hit that 200lb milestone very soon, but just not this week perhaps. No big deal.
smile.gif

edit: Ok, did a quick 40min on the treadmill. I covered a little under 3 more miles making the total about 6 for the day. I couldn't run as hard as I wanted to for a couple reasons. Firstly, our guests were trying to sleep in the adjacent room, and also because I was getting some pretty intense abdominal pains :[ It hurt pretty bad, but I got a decent sweat going.

I weighed myself after and I was at 186.6. I was 182.4 this morning, so I don't know how well I'll do on Sunday. Hrmmm. I'm gonna try getting in some serious treadmill tomorrow all day and probably decrease my calorie intake by 500 to make up for tonight's junkfest.

In the end though, I'm not worried, because I've dealt with this before and I know I'll hit my goals very soon!
smile.gif

Well I hit a new record today for exercise.
smile.gif

Let me just first say that I'm not insane! :p

Ok, now that we cleared that up, on to the numbers!

Total Time: 230min, 25sec

Miles: 17.149

Est. Calories Burned: 1,936

Now, I didn't do that in one shot mind you. I had the day off from work, no distractions as my roommate and our visiting guests went out of town for a family-related Christmas thing. Then, on top of all that, I still had the frustration floating about from last night's drunken binge.

So, all that together meant some really focused exercising I guess.
smile.gif

I split it into four separate 3.5 mile sessions that I would do about every 1.5 hours. Then, I ate a cereal bar and drank water right after each one. I decided to have a little chicken from last night's homemade wraps we put together and polished off another 3 miles real quick.

Everybody is home now, so I'm done with the exercising for today. I'll probably do a few more miles in the morning though.

Anyway, my legs and feet a little achy, but not too bad! I didn't run at crazy speeds or anything like that. It was all just a pretty mellow jog (about a 7mph) to my videos.

Curious to see what the scale says tomorrow
smile.gif
I may bump back into the 180s again for the week, but I have no doubt I'll get back into the 170s not long after!
smile.gif

Thanks scbibhouse!

Doing my best! I'm glad it helps you stay motivated! Anything I can do to help others with their own weight loss!
smile.gif

Best of luck to you!

Ok, well as figured, I went up a bit. Not too much though, just about 3.6lb of retention.

We went out for breakfast today and got some groceries for Sunday football, so I'm not eating too great today. Although I did a quick 2.5 miles on the treadmill this morning, I'll probably be up a little more by tomorrow.

But, no worries! It's just retention and it'll come off as quickly as it came on. Just gotta keep at it!
smile.gif

What a weekend.

Good grief. Ate even worse today than on Friday's drunken binge!

Hrmm, lemme see if I can recall everything that went into this big damn mouth of mine.

Breakfast, had 2 Entenmann donuts left over from Friday night, then some friends and I went out to Cracker Barrel where I had 4 slices of French Toast w/ syrup and butter, 2 eggs cooked over easy, 3 biscuits with gravy, 2 little turkey patties, and some chocolate milk.

Later, had 2 6'' subs with mayo, a variety of meats, and some cheese. THEN, we deep-fried some tater tots and crab rangoons.. lol. Only had 2 of the rangoons and maybe 10 of the tots.

You'd think that would be enough, right? Wrong.

My sweet tooth wasn't nearly satisfied enough. I also bought quite the variety of ice creams while we were shopping earlier. I had a pint of Ben & Jerry's, 'Milk and Cookies' flavor, not long after the deep-fried things. Oh, and also 4 ice cream drum sticks (each one had an average of ~300 calories).

To say I went overboard was a bit of an understatement. I wasn't even drunk! Just good company and a friendly atmosphere is sometimes all it takes! hehe
smile.gif

No idea what the scale will say tomorrow morning, but I know it will absolutely NOT be forgiving in the slightest. I can actually feel my belly sticking out.

The only healthy option I believe I made today was ordering a diet coke for breakfast, lol  I forgot my gum too before we left! Erp.

Hopefully those reading this won't be too disgusted with me after this post, haha. I won't hold it against you if you do.
smile.gif
I was definitely back in my old mindset, the only difference nowadays I'm actually doing something to balance out the crazy food intake by incorporating crazy amounts of time on the treadmill!

Although Christmas is next Sunday, so it's gonna be another scenario of good company + good food again! Good thing it's on my cheat day!

I will remember my gum though just so I don't go too nutty!

Oy. I'm gonna be making my treadmill smoke for the next couple days.. haha

Ahhh Frog I think there's something in the air, I just had 2 insanely terrible days too!!! The 5 perfect days I had this week were completely undone, I think I break even... Really don't even want to step on the scales tomorrow!! Just not going to count last week lol, it'll be a week off... Going hard this week though!! I'm sure you'll see your 200lb loss soon!!!

I hear ya, Luz. Something in the air, or the craziness of the season.. who knows!

All I know is, like you, it's go time this week! I'm gonna make that treadmill of mine beg for mercy!

Good luck to you and I expect this week to be much better for us on the scale!
smile.gif

Hey, hang in there, the madness of Christmas is almost over! A couple of slip ups won't matter as long as you get back on your feet afterwards and keep going

I know what you mean about alcohol though - I can refuse sweets and treats anytime, but if I get a little bit tipsy then I'm like the freaking cookie monster. I just stop caring! My boyfriend's ma was offering me alcohol again last weekend, haha - I had two small glasses then refused more, because I didn't want another relapse!

As you know, it really doesn't matter - as long as you make sure you continue afterwards! S'all good in the hood! Don't break the treadmill! :D

haha, yeah Crym. I know, but these slip-ups are annoying - especially when I'm so close to a milestone!

lol, cookie monster! :p Yes yes, that sounded a lot like me that night!

This was me basically, only with a bunch of ice cream cookies and about 4 times!

smile.gif

Good for you on resisting that alcohol! I don't know if I could've done the same. I seem to indulge a bit too much in that regard sometimes. People like to get me drunk I've noticed!

I noticed you haven't updated your own journal in a while. Hope you're doing well!

I did today, went on a good wee ramble haha

You must be insanely busy at the moment, but its only 4 days till Christmas :)jump: ) so almost there!!!!

!!!

I will go check it out!

Yeah, parcels from the last minute shoppers are flowing in! hehe

Almost done, but then unfortunately we have to deal with the not-so-happy complaints from customers after Christmas who weren't able to get their gifts out on time, thus blame us for "late" delivery.

Um, yeah.. we deliver EVERY package that comes in, and then some! It's not out fault if the truck didn't bring us your package in a timely matter or you underestimated the shipping speed from the website you ordered from!

Some people always love to shoot the messenger. :)
