Frogged's Lily Pad

Wow, almost at 200lbs lost, that's so amazing! Great job!

I just recently tried my hand at CoD Modern Warfare 2. I was used to Battlefield Bad Company 2, which is a little bit of a slower pace. Boy was I in for a shock when I popped that one in! Very fast paced, but was fun. My only complaint was I didn't like jumping from character to character. I just got Battlefield 3 on Black Friday, just waiting for it to come in the mail. Can't wait!

I'm a xbox girl. When I was younger I was into pc games, but I guess I adapted to xbox. I prefer a controller as opposed to a keyboard I suppose. ;)

AHeya Frogged! How're you doing?
Seems the weight loss is still going good. Congrats on losing the 2.2 lbs! Excellent job :) you're so consistant with it, it's amazing!
Sounds crazy busy at your work! Must be a bit annoying, but good to be busy? I'm being such a part timer atm it sucks for my bank account xD ah well, should get more hours soon. And I reckon you burn plenty of calories by working anyway.
I've always wanted to play CoD or something like that, I tried it on my brother's xbox, its pretty cool. But it also takes me ages to kill one person lol. I should really find some new games, I only play WoW xD

Frogged! You are amazing!

Anyone with as much willpower as you, should have a ton of confidence! I mean come on, you've lost almost 200 lbs, and you're still consistently losing!!! Not to mention your good looks, you should have no problem talking to anyone!! It is all in your head, seriously. Just start telling yourself every day how far you have come and how GOOD you look, and you will start believing it. Even if it sounds cheesy, it's proven to work. The more you tell yourself something, the more you will believe it. You are extremely hard on yourself, I know we are our own worst critic but come on, you are so much better than you give yourself credit for. When you wrote down what you were saying to yourself in the car after smiling at that girl, it made me so sad. You should never tell yourself those things. Society is already judgmental enough, you need to be the one that cheers yourself on and builds yourself up, or no one will! Keep your head up!:hug2:

Thank you so much, Munch! It definitely wasn't/isn't easy, but it's very fulfilling not only in terms of feeling so much healthier, but also because it really lifts my spirits seeing how much it helps motivate others to change as well!
smile.gif

Yes! Agreed about Battlefield vs CoD. The action is soo much faster in CoD! I get a little disoriented playing it sometimes, hehe :p

The last time I was really efficient with a controller was Playstation 1 :]

Thanks again for your kind words!

Hi Becky!
smile.gif

Yeah! This plateau is a thing of the past! I'm really glad it happened though because now everyone can see what it takes to break through one! Just slight tweaking of the calories/exercise (not much), and never stopping! That's all it took to break through my 2-month plateau
smile.gif
Oh, and a lot of patience doesn't hurt either! hehe

Yes.. work is crazy to put it lightly. It can be annoying, but yes, busy is good.. for the most part. I won't lie and say I don't feel a bit drained afterward, but because of how much physical activity I'm getting just from work, I'm only doing about half of my normal routine until things settle down. I don't want to completely wear myself out!
smile.gif

I always die in CoD before I even see who killed me. It's kind of embarrassing, and anytime I do spot an enemy first, I get so excited that I can't aim with the thumb/joystick combo because I'm in a frantic state to try and get him! Makes aiming so difficult when compared to just point with my mouse/keyboard! By the time I finally manage to get my aim over the enemy player (if at all), that's usually when he/she turns around and kills me instead.. :p

Aww, thanks Amanda!

It's getting better. I just recently started keeping a little handheld mirror next to my computer that I hold up to myself every so often and say 'Good looking man!' lol!

So, I'm trying!
smile.gif
I can say I don't feel embarrassment the same way I used to when I was heavy and that I'm much more comfortable being a little more outgoing in social situations. I'm always willing to goof on myself or act like a big dope nowadays (see most recent picture posted in my diary, heh) :p Before at my heaviest, I'd usually just sit in the corner acting like I had just witnessed something terrible, but now I actually perk up at random intervals!
smile.gif

Thanks again everyone for your lovely comments! I always appreciate them and it never fails to put a big froggy grin on me! You all are so wonderful!

Yeah, there were definetly times where I was just spraying bullets hoping to hit something. I'm more of a slow goer, I like to be careful, methodical. But I found my self running in guns blazing in CoD!

I remember the playstation 1, I think that was about 5 consoles ago for me! I don't get every new one that comes out, just over the years would upgrade after something has been out for awhile. Now I'm an avid xbox user. I'm so addicted. It's hard sometimes to choose between playing a game and going to the gym. I just have to remember that the video game won't burn very many calories!

From what I've read on here, your a big motivator to a lot of people. You should be proud of not only what you've accomplished, but the effect you have on everyone around you!

And here I go off topic a little bit. I've read through your diary and you seem to eat the same types of things everyday. Do you ever get tired of this? I know Sunday is your cheat day, so there's some variation there.

Yeah, I was big into MMORPG addiction for years. Started out with EQ (for a month or so), then DaoC, then WoW. If I had to guess, I say I probably spent the better part of 7 or 8 years of my free time in that genre :\ It was difficult to break out of, but I managed and now I have no trouble choosing whether or not to exercise or play a vid game
smile.gif
I do still play counter-strike: source off and on, but that's because it's such dumb fun! Plus I always laugh at the goofy ways the ragdoll physics throw players around when they get fragged, lol

It really keeps me going and makes me so happy whenever I read about my success possibly helping others with their own weight loss!
smile.gif
If I can inspire just a few people to turn their lives around and live happier, then it really makes me feel so much more accomplished.
smile.gif

The monotony of eating the same typical things each day isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's always convenient, I never have to guess too much, and it's always yummy (to me anyway!)
smile.gif
Bars are quick and easy, which is crucial to my line of work! So I'm able to get my calories in while still getting my job done efficiently. The fact that it's been working so well also helps keep me in line too!

Sundays are the only thing I tweak every so often. Just because it's a drag having to run off so much retention weight, so occasionally I won't eat as much as I usually do just so I can insure a good loss the following Sunday
smile.gif
I mean I'll still cheat, but not too much!

Thanks again for the kind words, Munch!

Yeah, things are going great all things considered
smile.gif

The holidays are making me a bit nutty :\ So much junk mail and packages.. erf. I can't even remember how I handled this time of year back at my heaviest weight!

I'd love to get more into Skyrim, but I'm just so tired after work. I manage to still get my exercise in, although I'm only doing about half of my usual routine. As a result, I've been watching my calories pretty strictly. I'm doing well on my weight this week though as I didn't really eat too bad on Sunday - we made cold cuts with low-fat ingredients!
smile.gif

Nothing newsworthy about CWG, but I haven't really had time to even think about it and I haven't even been to the winery in a few days, which is surprising!

Ah well.

A:santa: I am a big online shopper Frogged...so you can think I am helping you work out when you are dealing with all those packages...haha...most of us are in our "lazy season" and you are getting your butt kicked...see you are the lucky one :biggrinjester:

haha, yup Tete! For the last couple days, my boss just comes up to me as I'm sorting the ever-growing mountain of parcels and says, 'Job security, Greg.'

I just nod in agreement like a good little worker bee, lol :p

It's not that I mind all the packages and the running around, it's just the ridiculous time restraints my job puts on everyone to get it all done. We're expected to still maintain the same schedule throughout the year, regardless of circumstances. They give us no breathing room to get our deliveries done, and will only punish us if we fall short of their expectations due to weather, break downs, or just sooo much volume.

It's almost as if the majority of people running this business hever never delivered a piece of mail in their lives with some of the absurd mandates they keep handing down the pipeline. My boss is always under a microscope, so he gets stressed some days, which makes everyone else get stressed. For example, we got called into a meeting just the other day because our boss was sent a mandatory service talk via e-mail about managing our time efficiently in the morning. Um, hello?? So the purpose of that meeting was to inform us that we shouldn't be wasting time, yet we were interrupted and pulled away from our work for 15min so we could stand around and be told that? ...alllllrighty! lol

It's just an ugly situation all around with the financial burdens this organization is facing as well. UPS is actually dumping a fair share of their own parcels on us to deliver because, apparently, the USPS worked out a deal where for each parcel we deliver for UPS, we get reimbursed $1, hah. Anything to get extra revenue I guess!

Anyway, enough of my venting! I could go on for pages with some of the crap I've seen over the years.

As for diet/exercise, it's going well. Although I feel more and more drained with each passing day from all this craziness. I think I need a mini-vacation after the dust settles from the holidays.

I actually do enjoy the Christmas season, it's just I enjoyed it more before I became a postman. ;)

Just a small glimpse of the average day right now, and keep in mind, it's only getting worse. I took these pictures on Wednesday and I was expected to fit it ALL into my jeep! :[

My jeep was already crammed to the roof, and I still needed to find a way to fit the ones on the ground in :\

This is how I drove for the first hour or so - just shoved in there! I'm glad I lost weight, cause I don't think I would've fit! hah

This is my rear "view".. real safe, huh? Yeah, I couldn't see a damn thing for about 2 hours. That's great for when you have to constantly pull on/off busy roads! Good thing I have great hearing! :p

Be careful driving around like that Frogged, they're gonna put you on the next episode of Hoarders ;) That is just nuts, I have no money to buy things online, I bet my postman loves me!!

I'm surprised they let you drive your own car? All the post office workers here have trucks with the logo on the side, I always thought that was a requirement so people knew you were legit!

Oh and I was east coast-ish, my mom is looking at jobs in Kentucky and N. Carolina, still pretty far away from you, but closer than normal!

I love this, it put a huge smile on my face. Good job Frogged, proud of ya :D

Can't believe you are still managing to fit in workouts with all that job stress, you're a total machine!

Awesome work, as always :)

Have you shifted the final 4lbs yet?!

Yah, and today was "light" compared to those pictures, so I have no doubt Monday is going to be absolute insanity. I think someone screwed up because I had about 1/4 of the volume that I've had all week. I'm expecting another 2-trip delivery day, ugh. At least I get paid mileage after I go out again with my second load :\

I'm hopeful about a loss tomorrow of course, but I don't think it'll be the 4lb to get me to the 200lb loss mark! We'll see!
smile.gif

Ya never know!

I'm always careful, it's the other nutjobs out there speeding around me that one should worry about. I can't count how many times I've nearly been clipped by those bozos! It's like they're running from the police sometimes the way they fly passed my vehicle! :[

Oh, and I'm a rural carrier. There are 2 types of mail carriers; a city carrier and a rural carrier. City carriers are the guys you describe. They are provided their vehicle by the post office (the white box truck with the logo) and have to wear the blue short-shorts uniform, lol. What's nice about that gig is that a city carrier doesn't have to pay for maintenance on their vehicle. So, if it breaks down, they don't have to worry.

A rural carrier on the other hand provides their own vehicle and doesn't have to wear a uniform. Just as the name says, it's more centered around a rural area with a lot of country/wooded/farmland areas to make deliveries in. The downer of it is when your vehicle breaks down, the post office doesn't lift a finger to help. They expect you to fix it and find someone to fulfill your route until you do. I think it's stating the obvious when I say that vehicle repairs can be rather costly! Especially when it's a right-hand drive vehicle that requires specialized parts :\

Anyway, yeah! hehe, I actually do keep a mirror by my computer here. :p I sometimes use it to make sure my hair looks ok before I go on webcam - and I know where your mind is going with that comment! LOL! It's Skype! Nothing sleazy, I promise!

Hey!

You are so close to your 200lb mark, 4 lbs to go is incredible! Wow! That is incredibly impressive :hurray:

Hope you are getting caught up in the Christmas mood and your present shopping is going well! I've got about a third of mine already and I am NEVER this organised...

Thanks Andie!

Yeah, I know. It's really crazy to think about.. 200 pounds. I've lost more than I weigh!

hah.. well, I'm definitely caught up in some sort of Christmas mood, be it good or bad, the verdict is still out. Right now, I'm just too busy to even process my feelings. I have some shopping done, but not much.

Glad you're doing well!

Lol I think half the parcels sent to this town are for me... I'm waaay addicted to online shopping!! Drive safe though, that looks INCREDIBLY dangerous!! We get pulled over by cops if our rear window is blocked!! Craziness.

INSANE that you've lost so much!!! Such a huge achievement, you should be so incredibly proud of yourself

Thanks Luz!
smile.gif
Wow, if I was pulled over every time my view was obstructed, I'd have a lot of tickets!:willy_nilly:

Although maybe the cops just give me a break since I don a strobe light, hehe

I am proud! But what makes it more rewarding is seeing it inspire other people to do the same for themselves! I've found that passing it on and motivating others is certainly one of the greatest feelings you can get from this experience!
smile.gif

Actually, I was just at a dinner the other night with some family and a few relatives decided to give me an early birthday gift! They're going to finance a 1 year gym membership for me! Wow!

I love my family so much, and they've really supported me before and after I started losing weight! I told them my idea of pursuing a path of helping others professionally with losing weight, and they found it to be very inspirational. Since I've never really utilized a gym for my weight loss, I intend to do some research (and tour) some of the local establishments in my area after the holiday season settles down. The hope is I'll be able to get my foot in the door, and possibly set myself in a position as an instructor/motivator/trainer at some point in the near future!
smile.gif

AWhat a great gift...your family sounds wonderful!!!

and I think you could help so many people with your story!! I hope it happens for you!! you are very inspirational and a great source of motivation for many of us....I know people could benefit from hearing about your journey!

Wow, that's such a neat gift! I think you'll make a great trainer/instructor.

Boy, you certainly are busy with the holidays! Those pictures are crazy!

Just to let you know, I think some gyms have treadmills that can go 14mph! You'll be able to go faster than on the one you have at home! lol

Wow that is an amazing and well thought out gift! Your family sounds very nice
smile.gif
I hope you really enjoy working out in a gym environment, it is definitely exciting and motivating having so many people around you with similar goals! It will be a new experience for you and hopefully will help with all the different weight machines to experiment with!

Yeah, I was quite surprised! My birthday isn't even until March, but I had said about a year ago how I wanted to reach my goal weight before my 29th birthday.
smile.gif
This will definitely help!

I've also heard of treadmills going up to 14mph in gyms. Hrmmm, I'm not sure how well I'd do trying a sprint at that speed right now. I can do 12mph for about 30s to 45s, depending on how I'm feeling. I might be able to do 14 for a few seconds, but not long! hehe.. yeah, we'll see. In time and with a little more weight loss, I'm sure I'll get there, but not at first.

I know the loose skin will still be an issue for me in a gym environment though. I wouldn't want to move or exercise in a method that might expose my belly. I'm always self-conscious of that, even at work. It sucks :\ I guess the only upside is I can use it to show people that I'm not joking about almost weighing close to 400lb just a little over 2 years ago. I've talked to a few people about my weight loss over the last few months that had trouble believing that I used to be that big. The last fella I spoke to about it said he never would've guessed I ever had any weight-related issues, which was cool.
smile.gif

Yeah, so we'll see how it goes. I'm still drained from the holiday craziness right now, but also a little excited about the possibilities next year may bring!
