First of May – My New Way

Great day yes, and I've been granted three days off later next week where I hope to get some cardio hours done. First time today that I got a little rub burn from the treadmill, hope it's gone tomorrow.
Btw 60 min treadmill did ipod count as 6481 steps.

Nylon stockings? Couldn't hurt to try it out.
Plan another 60 min or more today, if there still is a problem I'll jump the cross trainer or gym bike.

I just to have chaffing marks on my thighs when I was bigger and went on walks which were 10 km's or further.
Rubbing vaseline on the spots which chafe before the workout did the trick for me.

It's underneath my feet I have the problem, it seems fine now hope it'll last.
Warning of rant:
My mind has been circling around candy all day. It's the hardest and most persistant habit from pre lifechange. When I drop off the kids in the morning and know their father will pick them up, then I have the entire day/evening to myself. I keep imagening all the candy I can eat on the couch, home alone and no obligations. I used to buy a pile of junk and eat and eat that day.
I have just had a protein shake and a pint of water and will hurry off to the treadmill and hope the desire goes away.
I will never make it out of the 130s if I eat like a maniac just because I CAN.

Although candy isn't a problem for me the sofa is. I want to have down time and I want to use it to stuff my face or drink beer or wine. I'm still working on this too so I don't have an easy answer. I can say find a new "candy". In other words find something healthy that you associate with down time and relaxation. Something that satisfies you and requires the solitude that you used for candy time. Since my back limits my activity I have tried to make things like cooking, cheese making, computer projects, drawing, photography, and reading to fill my time in a calorie free way. I share my projects in my diary or on social media to add an interactive element.

Good luck to you and hang in there! You can do this Clarissa!

I use good old talc powder for chaffing issues,

Try circling your head round some healthy snacks. Sitting on the sofa, no obligations, some baby carrots, celery, cucumber with a healthy dip,

If hubby's not home I love sitting on the sofa and snacking while watching my girl-y films that I never get to watch when he's home lol I will also have to trade candy, chocolate for the above.

Thanks for the advice guys. You're right, I need new candy or couch habits. Actually coffee is a wonderful treat to me, but I am sensitive to caffeine and can only have one or two cups a day. I will try some decaf and see if it works out.
Did 45 min on the treadmill and then I felt the burn a little and thought it would be better to stop than risk it to evolve in to a real blister.
Have lots of things to keep me occupied I just need to begin.
I have just been shopping for my mother and her aunt and I got a pepsi max for myself that I currently am drinking in the shadow. Have to go shopping again for the aunt.
I am watching my parents eat crisps and have desided not to have any, because I CAN do that too.

Decaf is great, while pregnant I drunk one real coffee in the morning and decaf during the day.
It tastes the same so if you're sensitive to caffeine I would go decaf :)

Yay on deciding a not to eat the crisps!

Avoiding blisters is always good.
I was about to throw some shoes away today thinking they gave me a blister on my heal. When I actually looked at it, there was a piece of small glass stuck in my heal :-/

The rub burns come in most shoes, because it gets to hot in them, I wear sandals on the treadmill (really good hiking ones from Teva) and sandals are terrific and mostly prevent it.

Never did the yoga yesterday..
All week there will be a bunch of handy men outside doing very noisy things to the building 7am - 3pm. and they have blocked my windows with boards so it's dark and hot in here.
Spent the morning of this first of three days off sorting things, books, music and papers. Found an excellent yoga book I'd forgot I had, it's far better than the ones the library has so I will return the stuff I borrowed and start working on trying the asanases and eventually ending up with my personal program. Found some money too I forgot I had put away so new DVD player will come home soon!
Will probably turn on the laptop later today to do back ups and ipod stuff, will try to remember to post the circus pics.
Now continuing sorting old stuff, it's hard having no kids and no work, mind has too much time to think on food..

Hello Clarissa! I have not read your entire diary, but I did read the first page and the last few pages to see where you started and where you are now. Congrats on your success so far. :]

I know what you mean about not having people or activities to distract you with food. I'm living alone until the end of the summer and am injured so that I'm limited in the exercise I can do. It has definitely made it difficult to keep away from the fridge.

Hi Cory thanks for stopping by. Wow I guess I should not complain about 3 days off everything. Hope you are able to stay busy somehow.
Of course I enjoy it too and it's 3.30pm now and I have only had 720 cals so far (and I rarely eats pass 6pm so dinner will probably come with a dessert).
It's 30 celsius and the house is blindfolded it's so hot in here and hard to breath because it has also started raining.
Have kept busy, I have made a bag of 150 calorie wholegrain buns for the freezer/me, tofu 'meat'balls and hummus and now I am baking wholegrain buns to the kids and my mother, had some milk that would spoil before the kids come home so I made some banana chocolate ice cream and used the rest of the milk in the buns.

I seem to eat most of my calories after 6pm! Don't usually have dinner until 8pm. Maybe I should look at changing that!

Hope it cools down for you soon--although the weather is a great excuse to make ice cream! :p

Was at the swim bath this morning and did 2 km (and 6 km biking), got me thinking about my goal of 24 hours treadmilling, it makes it nearly impossible to do anything else besides the treadmill. Now I still have to do 60-80 minutes on the treadmill later. Arggh.
Anyway got my letter from the bachelor today, of course have to buy a pile of books and other stuff. Luckily I have sold most of my books from the financial bachelor.

Sounds like your exercise has been going really well. Keep it up. I just noticed that you're already down +32lb from your starting weight. That's quite the accomplishment. I hope you're very proud of yourself! :)
