Dumpy the diet disaster tries again.

Awwww shucks you say the nicest things GGH. How's things in your neck of the woods? We have summer with a vengeance here... thunderstorms.

Yea summer is here that's for sure. Been getting our share of the rain.
Spent the weekend doing yard work and cutting wood for our weekly bonfires we have on Friday and Saturday nights.
Now that's a workout.... lol

Some years ago, I joined a line dancing class with my friend who didn't want to go alone. First though, I made sure I didn't have to wear a cowboy hat and boots or shout 'Yeeehaaar'. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but my friend had to give up because every time we spun around she got giddy and fell over:rotflmao: So she took a Fine Art's course. I didn't want to keep going on mmy own so also gave up
Anyway, I met a couple of women from the group yesterday and they have persuaded me to rejoin. I reckon it will be fun and a good way to shift a bit of weight

I'm having a good week, dietwise. Focused, head in the right place and getting into a good routine. WI on Friday morning.

It's not only Friday the 13th but its also a full moon which only happens literally once a life time.

Awesome job losing the 3 lbs Dumpy. I'm proud of you...

Yes, my Canadian buddy told me to buy an extra lottery ticket because yesterday was lucky. My husband and I bought an extra one each.... nothing. AND we got a flat tyre on the way home... deep joy:banghead:

It's that time of year,Big Brother has started over here. Love it or hate it; you have to admit that it gets the weirdies off the streets and safely locked up for the summer.

I was not aware that line dance had hopped the pond. I line danced once to Boot Scootin Boogie in the early 90s. I don't dance so that was enough for me. I suppose I live in the line dancing Mecca. I have the outfit and everything, but I wear it to do work outdoors like cut firewood or to the very occasional rodeo.

Congrats on the weightloss and I hope you have fun with your dancing!

A bit of redneck trivia for you: The exclaimation "Yee Haw" comes from the terms gee (pronuounced hee) and haw which are the commands to turn a draft animal gee to go right and haw to go left. When I was a kid my Father bought a mule that had been used by an elderly man to plow fields. Even though we rode the mule he responded poorly from rein commands and you had to use gee and haw to make him turn well. Whoa to slow or stop and click sound to speed up.

D, line dancing sounds SO FUN. And look at you crushing the weight. So proud of you, girl!!

Here's to another fantastic week!!

Aww Quercus, I would have loved that mule. Line Dancing and Country music are both very popular over here as is American football. Super bowl always gets high viewing figures.
Now, I scorned the Friday 13th/ full moon prophesy of good luck, but did buy a Euro lotto ticket and a ticket for the UK Lottery on Friday. We had no luck on the Friday Euro draw but, last night, we won £25 on one ticket and £10 on another in the UK one. Petrol(gas) is very expensive in the UK it is measured by the litre not gallon. A litre is roughly a pint and three quarters and one litre costs £1. 27p at the cheapest filling stations and £1.32 at the dearest. We are using our winnings to fill up our camper van and taking it to the coast for the day tomorrow.
Morning Amber. What are you up to these days love?

Please feel free to laugh, everyone else has.

Yesterday we were at a friends house and one of their grand children asked me which grip we used on our tennis racquets in the 1960's. It was the now obsolete 'shake hands' grip. 'Ooo' he said, 'I doubt you would get much of a serve with that' He's a snotty little son of a bachelor so I sent him to the other side of the net to receive and sent an ace down. It was a beauty, he ducked. Unfortunately, I pulled a muscle in my shoulder and the yelp I gave was so shrill dolphins out to sea could have heard it and sent an answer:blush5::biggrinjester:.

A lot of kids now days are more talk than action

Never could play myself. Never really had any interest either.

But anyways.... Keep up the work and keep pushing. I want to see them numbers dropping on you...

I think the karma police were on patrol Dumpy. Get well soon. FYI I paid $.85/liter today, 63p/liter, or $3.24/gallon. It helps to live where they drill, but then you have to live where they drill it. ;)

Too true love, too true. The bed rock off Scotland is full of oil. Off shore, all you can see are oil rigs. However, the government of the time decided to sell it so there is no 'local oil' for Britain. On top of this, the price at the petrol stations is more taxed than anywhere else on earth I believe Is there any wonder that Scotland wants independence from England? Don't get me started on gas... that is piped from Russia when Norway could have provided it for half the price.

Weeeeee I am so tickled pink.

When we moved to this little house a year last February we started vegetable gardening. We didn't know anything about it but got stuck in. Our spuds (potatoes) in a dustbin (garbage can) were a disaster. NOT ONE! This year we planted them in deep plastic boxes and the variety we planted would ... fingers crossed... crop in mid June. I noticed this afternoon that the flowers had died and the plants were starting to wilt. So as that is the sign the spuds are ready my husband, a bit dubious about it all but under orders from me, started digging them up. 10lbs we got. 10lbs. Got to go now and e mail everyone I know.

Fresh produce! Nothing like fresh food from the garden, especially young potatoes with a leeeettle bit of salted butter...
