Dumpy the diet disaster tries again.

I think trying to do the best you can under the circumstances is indeed the right approach.

Congrats on the dropped pounds so far.

Yesterday was a dreadful day. In the end, my husband went out and bought a KFC bucket for 2. I've never had one before and never will again. The chicken (and we have to believe it was chicken) tasted like nothing on earth and the texture resembled rubber. Even our dog turned her nose up at it, and labradors will eat anything. We put it in the dustbin.

I have got a low fat chicken casserole out of the freezer for today and we will warm it up in the camper van. I made it for emergency days and this is one of them.

I am longing to get back to normal

I haven't eaten chicken in a while, but I remember having KFC when I was young and hating it. We only got MCD, BK and KFC on roadtrips and I used to convince my mom that it was a much better idea to take sandwiches with us from home. :) Totally know what you are taking about when you say KFC chicken's texture is like rubber. I used to think that too! I am imagining your furry baby turning her nose- and yes, they do eat EVERYTHING.

Chicken casserole sounds delicious. Hope you get back to normal comfortable self soon, D!

I am really, really struggling. We had no water yesterday and still have none downstairs today. Our garden looks like a sandy beach, sawdust everywhere. And I've twice fallen over equipment. Normally I could cope with all of this but I so badly want to get back on my diet. I enjoyed it so much and had got into a lovely cosy routine.
Last night my husband said 'Bugger this. We are going out to eat' I won't tell you what I had but it was NOT healthy and further more I enjoyed it.
All the work should be finished on Wednesday and I have to say, they have done a wonderful job. I wouldn't have recognised the kitchen, it is so different and it isn't finished yet. So its all been worth it. Oh yes, another thing: Because men are popping up all the house sorting electric, gas etc, I am constipated. I just can't put me mind to it knowing that one of them may be outside the door!

I could cry. This seems to be going on for ever.
Yesterday was horrendous. The electric was off all morning with electricians and goodness knows who else popping up all over the house. It turns out that the wiring in the kitchen does not meet British safety standards. Or, to put it another way, it is a wonder the house hasn’t burned down. I know we bought the house cheap, but we didn’t expect to have bought a death trap!
When the electric was on, the floor fitters were cutting Welsh slate to size and the noise went straight through our heads like a knife. The gas fitter came today, and as far as I know has not met any problems. The kitchen is being re wired tomorrow and the tiler will also be coming to ‘grout’ the tiles.
I dread to think what has happened to my diet. I had a very large whisky and coke last night. I dream of getting back on my regime. But it seems a very long way off.

Dear D. Sorry to hear about all the stuff going on in the house. Hopefully it's a few more days and you can get back into your groove. Sending you positive energy from here.

They will be finished early next week. I shan't be sorry to see them go so that I can get back in the 'zone' but in a way I will. They have all been fantastic and thoroughly nice people.

I AM BACK!

And jolly glad to be so. The kitchen was finished on Thursday last and a really good job they made of it. We both love it. I have been without a laptop for a week, so that's why I've been AWOL. I gained 4 pounds, I expected it to be more but it is lovely to be back in my diet routine. I have missed all of you who have posted on here and look forward to catching up with you on your thread.

I have lost the 4lbs I gained, and boy did it take some walking and strict VLC to do it. But its done.

Congrats on the re-lose of the 4 lbs.
It's awesome to here that your kitchen is completed and you have survived the tedious ordeal. I hope you enjoy your new kitchen to the fullest by cooking some awesome homemade healthy meals

Hiya Ghosthunter!

Yes, busy in the kitchen. It is Wmbledon fortnight at the end of the month and I am a tennis nut so busy cooking meals and freezing them so that I can get as much time in front of the TV as possible. How yer doing? If I can lose just 1 more pound by Friday morning I will have lost a stone (14lbs)

YOU'RE BACK!! This makes me so happy. We've missed you around here. And congratulations on all those lbs lost. Yay for hard work.

I used to be a tennis nut too, until life happened. I haven't owned a TV my entire adult life. I am living in a hotel for the next six weeks and I don't know what to do with the TV. Maybe I'll start watching tennis again. Do you play as well, D?

I used to play a lot when I was younger, but then I had to concentrate on exams (I was a nurse) and tennis kind of fell by the wayside. Now I'm a keen 'watcher' My husband was a rugby player when younger and we still enjoy watching rugby, he also ran for his school in athletics so we watch as much of that as we can. We used to walk as much as we could and now both of us are trying to get fit we have started walking again

Yea I remember them younger days also. I played Football (not soccer) back when I was in school. But once I graduated I went into the Army and football just kind of went to the wayside. But I do still watch it as much as I can.

Everyone in England thinks Football is Soccer, but in Wales we call rugby football. When I was in Canada i really missed rugby, so they took me to an ice hickey match and I was hooked

Well, I did it a whole stone lost and now I'm starting on my second. No big issues on the horizon so I can concentrate and get my head in the right place to lose steadily through the summer.
