kicking myself....

Hey all,

Well I am sure bloody kicking myself today....had my six week weigh in this morning, had only lost 0.8kgs in two weeks!!!! Yes, any loss is a loss, but I felt terrible - had had quite a few 'bad' days over the past couple of weeks, one day I was sooo down that I indulged in some white chocolate covered shortbread biscuits (only two, damn they were good - but what I would give now to have not eaten them!!!), and I have been naughty and nibbling, stealing tiny little bites of yummy food from my daughters plate.....all this combined with only getting about 6 or 7 hours sleep a night (HUGE study load at the moment) and also not drinking enough water! I think I have been getting into a bit of a comfort zone - given that I've only got less than five kilos to go before I order my refeed. Am not feeling like the 'fat' person I was before, and the program's kind of been shifting out of my focus a bit. That's sooo dangerous to get into though, I know, so as of today am definitely going to step back up to the plate. Very dissapointed in myself though - my consultant today said that my weight loss should stay on about the same rate through the program if I follow it 100% - which means that I would have lost about four kilos in this past fortnight and would have been there ordering my refeed at 65kilos today instead of feeling like crap!!! BUGGER!!! Shows the flip side to staying off the scales - I thought I would still be losing - didn't have to face up to my 'cheating'!
On a brighter note though, (and possibly the reason why I've been a bit 'vain') went and bought a few new clothes the other day - SIZE 10 JEANS AND TOP!!! YAY!! I don't think I've ever bought size 10 in my life!!
But am determined to stay focused now - I'm on the home stretch - and considering I've already gone and added a few extra weeks to my program- don't want to add any more - I want my social life back!!!

Sorry for the long post - had to get it out!!
Everyone is doing really well, good luck to all those starting their program, the tiredness will pass, and you will have a lot more energy!!

Where are all our people who've completed their refeed??? Myshy, DivineMissNat - we want to know what life's like on the other side!! Drop us a post if you're still out there!!

Hopefully by next Friday I'll be down a couple of kilos!! This week's goals - no salt, no cheese, no coke, lots of water, lots of sleep and NO CHEATING!!!

Take Care All,
Tash xox

KIM_J01 - If I were you I'd check with your consultant on that one. Personally, I figured any 'diet' soft drink was ok on the program, but not so. For example, I was initially told (by my consultant) that the only reason caffeine free diet coke/pepsi was in our program is that caffeine can make you feel hungry, therefore de-caff was recommended so you don't overeat or cheat. So, because Diet Coke and Coke Zero don't make me hungry, I thought I was ok to drink it. Wrong... I've since been told that no, I shouldn't be drinking it. Which I think is crazy, because we are allowed to have three cups of coffee per day before having to switch to de-caff (by the way, I don't dink coffee).

Just check before you potentially jeopardise your weight loss.

PRINCESSLOU - 9.4 kilos in one month! Super effort. You'll be at your goal in no time. Lucky you!!

Cheers :D

OH NO!!!! Thankyou PinkVirgo!!!!!!!!! Here I was in my little 'dream-world' thinking Coke Zero was ok!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to your posting I went back & re-read the beverages part of my plan & Holy Crap - Non-Caffeine Coke & Pepsi are the only ones allowed!!!! I am SO glad I read your post THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who read my post from last night, you'd know that I was going to jump on the scales for the first time in 5 days (since I started Cohens) this morning. Well.... fabulous news! I have lost FOUR KILOS in FIVE DAYS! That is one crazy weight loss! But I am stoked! WOW! Those 4lts of water each day, and not cheating are really paying off! And it has been so easy! At this rate, I'll be ordering my refeed at the end of the month! Don't think rate of weight loss is likely to keep up though.

C'mon all you newcomers! You can do this too! Just be really dilligent with everything!

Motivation guaranteed

Well girls went to my clinic today...

I am really motivated now..

I will now be having an appointment every Thursday morning to talk and weigh in..

I am hoping and praying that 6-8 weeks will get me to goal weight and to re feed - thence the going in every week..

After a lengthy talk with Tania my consultant today I realised a few things that I had forgotten ...and thanks to her I feel I can do this journey with no hesitation.

Moni (Christie) we were talking about you today there also...

My clinic here in Tamworth is moving into a bigger and brighter office..more hours and more days..

They are also going to have meet and greet days and lucheon days...

Something to look forward to..

Anyways girls ..I'll be off now and see you all later

Hi there everyone. So encouraging to read all of your posts. Everyone is trying so hard. And for those who have been having a tough time, or have had real-life issues to deal with, I admire your strength and willingness to move forward. Go all of you!!

I've gone back to work and am busy again. Will be going off early in the morning - have just finished making chicken and asparagus soup for lunch. The water bottles are filled and in my cooler; the biscuits and fruit are ready!! My goodness it's always such a big production - but worth it, and definitely a money-saver .... that's the only benefit I can find for being slow, the fact that I will save more money by staying on this longer.

You really are doing so well, and we will ALL get there - I am quite sure.

Was thinking PinkVirgo that we have about the same amount to lose - I'd offer to race you but I can't get the body to move any faster.

kimj01 and ridiculous - you are doing particularly well, good on you.

So glad for you happymummy to have had so much support from your consultant - sounds like you have a great clinic there. Hope it makes a big difference for you.

What am I missing here - I don't know what this V soft drink is?

i CaN i WiLL yea you are right, Zero Coke is off limits, but don't panic. When I first got my program it wasn't!! My program says 'try to get caffeine free". So people have been having the caffeine ones and succeeding in the past. The program only changed late last year to say No caffeine in the soft drinks. I don't know the reason either, and I made the change (I don't like the coke zero anyway but I miss my pepsi max). If I hadn't been for this forum I wouldn't even have known about the change. Who knows why, the explanation makes no sense to me either, but I'm doing my best. Anyhow I wouldn't panic about what you have been doing, I'm sure there's a reason for it but when I made the change I didn't lose any faster!!

Have a good sleep everyone, and get that HGH working.

Have not messaged for while

Hello Everyone and welcome newies, well done to you all, i have not read all the threads that i need to catch up on but all of you seem to be going great guns.

I have not messaged for a while as been busy and a way. I cant adjust my weight do dad thingy as i have not weighed my self but honestly everyone its not falling off me like it was beacise i have not been sticking on the program 100% through no fault but my own :( But i am bridesmaid in a wedding (YET AGAIN this is my 4th - allways a bridesmaid never a bride !) in JUNE so am getting back on track. I CAN DO IT

- CASEY

I am so impressed with everyone. there have been some sensational weight losses recently and isn't it encouraging! I did a bit better this week with a 1.1 kg loss. I have been losing about 800 - 900 g recently so its an improvement , I hope it continues. Pink Virgo, I identify with you such a lot, I really understand your frustration, I am impatient to lose this weight too. but you are not alone, frustrating though it is, there seem to be a few of us who are just slower losers. BUT WE ARE LOSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it would be much more satisfying to be a fast loser but its' still happening and I for one am very pleased about that. I have a theory about fast and slow losers and the thing about having eaten fairly healthily pre Cohen's, certainly rings true for me. I think my problems have been carbs and large quantities but have eaten pretty well for years now. Its one of the reasons that it was so disappointing to continue to gain. The other idea I had was that I had already dieted for a couple of weeks before starting this program and had lost the fluid and "easy" weight, it's just a thought but could it be that this is why my overall 1st official month's weight loss was not as high as I had hoped? I am probably talking through my hat and there might not be anything to my theory... but it makes me feel better! LOL
I love reading everyone's posts, I have become an addict. Bye for now.

soft drinks

:) Happy Friday to everyone, I too have become an addict at reading all your posts and find that there is a lot more to learn from others on the program than just what's in the folder.

My drinks list say's I'm allowed: Diet soft drinks (max 1 ltr per day)
Diet Coke, Pepsi Light (MUST be caffeine free)
Sprite Zero, Diet Lemon Lift, Diet Solo
Soda water, mineral water
Coffee (decaffeinated if more than 3 cups per day)
Black tea
Herbal teas (green, chamomile and peppermint)
NOT ALLOWED - Milk, sugar or honey
Diet cordials or fruit juices
Fruit flavoured teas.

Caffeine Diet Coke is readily available, but haven't found any caffiene free Pepsi Light, does anyone know if it's available and if so where?
Coffee means all decaf, not the 1st 3 and then decaf. If you only have one, two or three then thats okay.
V juice wouldn't be allowed as it comes under fruit juices I would think.

Had a call this morning from my consultant after she received my blood results from Mr God in the mighty US OF A and he said that I must stick to the program 100%, duh, as I only lost 6kg in the 1st month. Will sure be sticking to it from now on, but I was still pleased to lose 6kg considering I had 5 social events over that month, so without any that I can think of this month should give me a much better result. I am the President of our golf club and that calls for me to be in charge of the social side of big and small events which of course involves catering and being in the kitchen for a lot of the time. Will just have to be organised on these days and take my own food. Have told most of my golfing mates that I'm doing this so it shouldn/t be too hard. I do feel better in a couple of my outfits so that is always good motivation. Any one have any really bright idea's to help me get through these situations would be appreciated.

Great to hear all the success stories and I know that I can do this but maybe not as fast as others, but I guess that's my problem. I think that if I can have an extra drink or whatever and still lose weight then that's ok but I guess I'm only fooling myself, no one else. Anyway sorry to whinge, it's not usually something I do, but guess it makes us feel better to get it off our chest LOL.

Keep it up everyone and have a great weekend.:D :D :D

Jen - I too have become addicted to reading everyone's posts! I can't wait to see what everyone is doing, and how they are tracking!
Happymummy - seems like you have a fabulous clinic! I'm jealous!
Gayegal - I agree. I have learnt way more through this forum than from the folder.
The old me and Pink Virgo - I agree that your theory makes sense, but it doesn't ring true for me. My normal food was very healthy - weetbix, salad for luch, meat and veg for dinner, as I was loosley following weight watchers and I have lost a lot of weight very quickly on cohens.

I have another question.... sorry!.... but does anyone's stomach grumble a lot? It's not that I even feel hungry, I could've just eaten luch, but my stomach will make these moaning noises. It doesn't happen all the time. Just wondering if it happens to anyone else?
Up to 5litres of water today! I'm a water drinking machine at the moment!

Can't start yet

Did my blood test on Monday. Been bugging the consultant as there has been no word on my eating plan.

Has this delay happened to anyone else?

Can't imagine what's going on.

All information and insights appreciated.

Have a great weekend drinking water and losing weight.

Maybe it's all the water making that noise?

Hello!!!

I don't remember when this forum was so quiet. I think we went a whole 24 hours without posting. Must mean everyone is busy, or bored, or falling off the wagon, or being totally uneventful. Maybe everyone is just having a great weekend.

Well I don't think there is anything eventful happening for me right now. After going back to work this week, I have just been veging out and catching up. My weightloss is the same as ever. Life is fine actually, just nothing to write up.

Tash* you are getting so close. I do hope you can stick to it well at this point because it really is going to be worth it. You will be there before you know it. And then you can tell us all about your refeed and afterlife!! You go for it. And congrats on the size 10 jeans ond top!

Sammy I am glad you are talking to your clinic on Tuesday. I hope they are particularly helpful for you.

happymummy: well the past has been disappointing for you. Can't change that. But you get a second chance so make the most of it. I know you can benefit this time. Stick with it. You know it works, and you will be back to where you were, and then past it in no time. I am sure you can do it!! Just persevere, because it will be worth it.

Casey it is so good to hear from you! I wondered where you were. Hey you can do this. Don't keep going around in circles. You only have to persevere for a while and then you will have your whole life to celebrate. It will change you.
You have to want this - not just because you are going to be a bridesmaid and you want to fit into some dress, but because you value yourself and your quality of life. Do it for yourself. But do it NOW!! Come on, and keep posting, and get support, and achieve your dream. Look forward to progress. It is hard to say no for a while, but if you do, it will be worth is. So step up and surprise yourself Casey - you go girl!!!

the old me:
you seem pretty close to where I am too. You will get there. Sounds like things aren't as fast as you want, but WE WILL GET THERE! So just go for it, and let's see if we can race each other. Doesn't matter who is first and who is last, as long as we spir each other on towards the finishing line.

gayegel, it is interesting to see how your program is written. Mine gives examples of diet soft drink but does not define it as these ones only. Cafeine-free pepsi light is usually in our woolworth stores, and I can usually only get it in a 2 litre bottle.

I made enquiry about the Zero Orange Sprite that was taken off the market so quickly. I had been having a bit and I wondered whether or not they had made a mistake about the no sugar bit. Customer service assured me that it had been stopped but not recalled. And just that it did not meet their own high standards, but that they weren't aware it had any medical implications. The new version is near to production and it will be re-released soon. Which is good because I liked it - sometimes it was too strong and I had it half and half with Zero Sprite.

ridiculous, the stomach grumble just sounds like the bowel readjusting itself to this plan. No clues on stopping it. Hey, you are pretty close really, given your speed of loss. That's something to be pleased about.

hopeful 1: there is nothing more frustrating than waiting for something to begin. It isn't unusual for it to take 10 days, and for some people a bit longer. Just drink your water in anticipation, and cut out all sugars. Cut back on your caffeine if you are a coffee drinker. That will give the body something to do. Get rid of the headachy stage before you start by having your withdrawals now. If you do this it will ease you into it and you will begin to feel the changes straight away. You will be doing something very constructive while you wait.

Healthy Mum: what happened to you? If you are reading this please let us know.

And myshy, how is this new stage of your life going? Really interested to know what is happenning.

Hope to hear from you all soon,
lizzi

Boy! It has been a quiet weekend for the forum!
This marks day 9 for me, and I've lost 5kgs. But I measured myself on saturday morning and I've lost 28.5cm! It's about 4 - 5cms off everything, but a massive 9cms off my waist! So motivating.
I've decided that it is easier to not do things that involve food or alcohol. So I've been a bit of a homebody at nights. I figure though, if I keep losing weight as I am (from being so strict, i think) then I probabaly only have about another 4 weeks of staying home and making excuses. Not much in the scheme of things, really.
Well I hope all of you had a really fabulous weekend.
Here's to another week of big losses!

Bella

It certainly has been quiet on here. I kept checking the posts and when there were none, I thought that the server must have been down! LOL .
Wow Ridiculous, you are doing soooo well. What a huge loss in cms. That must be very satisfying. You will be able to sing the praises of this program high and low after such a sucessful start. My cm loss is 24.5 after 5 weeks on the program. Most of it off my waist with very little loss anywhere else yet. I guess it'll come soon. Lizzi, yes we have a similar amount to lose, it will be interesting to see who gets there first my loss doesn't seem to exceed 1kg per week and sometimes drops to about 800g, what about you? L-Jay, how are you doing? Still feeling flat and horrible or starting to pick up a bit? I hope its the latter. Take care all. Jen

Hi everyody - it's the end of Day 13 for me and so far 7 kilos down. Very happy about that but feeling extremely emotional and tired at the moment.

Ridiculous - what great measurement you have lost - you must be very happy with that!

All I can think about having is a cup of tea with milk and a piece of bread with butter, sounds boring but it seems like the ultimate dream at the moment!
Have a good night everybody

Minxy xx.

Good morning ladies. Sounds like we're all on track to have another great week of losses!

Had my 1-month get together with my consultant on Friday and passed my blood test, which I expected. I did bruise up quite badly after the test though, despite the fact that the lady who took it was very gentle!

So: over the half way mark for me now, which is a good feeling. I have been in a bit of a boring habit of cooking very similar meals quite often, particularly the ingredients in my stir-fry vegies for dinner and those in my salads for lunch. I am going to try to mix it up a bit to accelerate the weight loss on this home stretch. Any suggestions? I tend to use a lot of baby spinach instead of bok choy or lettuce as it tends to weigh less, so I get more of it. Then I generally have tomato, mushroom and onion with it. Do you think changing things around will help? I have also decided to try and eat fish more often as I have been tending to just have beef or chicken every day.

To those of you reporting feeling tired, weepy etc, my advice is to just hang in there for a few more days and it will get much, much better. I felt pretty dreadful for about three whole weeks and then suddenly, I was feeling good again. It does get better! I must admit, I still get a bit dizzy when I'm working hard in the garden etc and then stand up quickly, but the head-aches and moody-ness have certainly passed!

Let's all stay fired up this week and try to record our biggest weekly losses yet!

Gotta love ++ results!!

Woooo - Hooooo....... :D

I changed my ticker this morning to .........58kgs!!! So that means, I have 6kgs to go...I'm stoked!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Sure it's been a bit 'hard' sometimes, but really if it was easy we wouldn't respect the program or ourselves as much!!

So proud of all of us strong determined girls!!!!! Yep, I agree the forum was a bit "postless" over the past 24hrs!!!! Hopefully this week it will shine with new & exciting positives!!

KEEP UP THE WATER!! WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!

Question........................

why is it we can't have milk (I mustn't have paid attention during that bit) I mean rev or skinny milk that has no fat in it blah blah. The lack of latte is killing me................

Does anybody know?

xx
