Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
You will eventually plateau, your body will eventually FORCE you to re-feed. When this occurs you will regain weight very quickly.

Interesting comment - I have a girlfriend who lost a whopping 75kgs (165lbs) on this program 6 years ago and hasn't put any of that weight back on at all! She looks amazing!

We are all encouraged to start an exercise program after the refeed part of the Dr Cohen's program. It is obvious we can't start a fitness regime while on the plan as we don't have enough calories to give us what we need, it will cause dizziness, fatigue and spike hunger that will make us reach for anything that with satisfy the immediate craving. And therefore ruining all the hard work.

I personally have worked out for years, including fitness programs such as BFL and PhysiqueTransformation with all the whey protein powders and supplements needed, and this wasn't a "oh I'll try this for a while" kinda thing either, I spend considerable time and massive amounts of effort as well. - I still kept putting weight on. - I was never a fast food, binge eating, stuff my face kinda girl. I ate incredibley healthy before this program, low to no sodium, no sugar, good lean proteins, hitting 100% of all my dialy vitamin and mineral RDI's a day, I ate fibrous fruit and veg, no starchy foods unless whole grain seeded bread once a week, almost zero processed food, 4 litres of water a day and working out 4 to 5 times a week doing resistance training and cardio as you can see I have nothing against the gym whatsoever. I enjoy going and plan to hit it hard at the end to tone up and continue my healthy lifestyle.
It was incredbley frustrating and baffling to me as to why my body kept gaining weight, after many discussions with trainers, dieticians, nutricianlists and doctors taking every test under the sun, no one had the answers for me either. I became pre diabetic and insulin resistant, this is from someone who had a very reduced carb diet (only whole grains and seeds in any starchy food and brown rice if I ever ate rice which was rarely). I was insanely upset and desperate to get on track.
I certainly did not go into this program lightheartedly and after many years researching the ways our bodies operate I decided to give it a go.
I started on 25th September 06 and have lost 20kg's (44lbs), my hormones have balanced out, I am no longer insulin resistant/pre diabetic.
I knew that there was something underlining my problem and this program (nomatter what your opinion of it), has changed my problem. I intend to continue a healthy diet and start going back to the gym as soon as I finish the refeed part of the program.
To me (and this may sound silly to you) but this program has saved my life. I have diabetes in my family and have already lost 2 uncles to it.

I didn't really want to get into all of this, but hey there's my 2cents worth.
I really hope we can all move on from this and go our own happy merry ways. Thanks for listening.

Hi all!

Had a busy week. Finally feeling better in the tummy after being rather ill for over a week. Boy does it make a difference to your weight loss if you dont eat everything. I remember being on other diets and feeling great if I didnt eat much for the day. Now, quite different. It really is a wonderful weight loss system.

Ticker update. Because of being ill, only a small loss this month of 5kgs. But dont know any other program that 15wks into it allows you to still lose that much in a 4 wk period. Pretty awesome if you ask me. 29kgs down and 13.7kgs to go. Cant believe time has gone by so quickly and the weight has come off even quicker. For all you newbies, you have made the best decision of your lives. You will never regret bringing Cohens into your lives. Go for it and always remember we are all here for you for even the silliest or slightest querie/problem you may have. Or even just to air out frustration or pleasure. GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!

BRIEZIEL - Keep up the great work and still waiting for those pics.....hehehe!;)

Hope all are doing well and feeling lighter.

Cheers,

Regina:D

Hi everyone, just wanted to join the group, say a huge thanks to everyone and try and change the subject back to the reason we are all here, to support one another through this amazing programme. My daughter (Lexie07) and I are going down this path together and whilst I was initially sceptical I was quickly won over, I initially attended the information session to support her and to ensure her hard earned money was not going down the drain. After the session and advice of our lovely consultant and a few days of thought we both signed up. An excellent decision for both of us. Have throughly enjoyed reading this forum and am impressed by the kind thoughts and support offerred by everyone.:)

Well done Regina

I agree this diet is great people can say what they want but like Mellyp said she has been through the long yards with dieting and has found Cohen's to be the right one for her we also have diabete's in our family my brother is insulin dependent and my mum is type 2, I was heading down the same road i had gestional diabete's with my first pregnancy and that scared me big time.

I can't understand this argument with Cohens we are fighting obesity, we are gaining our health and the feedback from this forum is that we are all feeling mentally and physically well.

For myself the health benefits have been astounding I try not to harp on it but this is the best I have felt and looked for a very long time.

To all the Newbies don't be put off we all know that "fat" is the cause for many health issue's and the government and health departments are spending a fortune to combat this issue (childhood obesity) in particular.

This forum speaks for itself we are not spinning tales this is the real deal and I am sure the Cohenites who have finished refeed and have not put back the weight will vouch for this.

So that's me again

Sam:)

We should get a commission from Cohens!!

I must have given the clinic details to 3 or 4 people on the weekend... most of them didn't even know what I looked like before. But when I said I used to be a size 24 and now am a size 14, they wanted to know the program details. So, I think I should be getting a commission!! I already have one friend who's just finished refeed.

The thing that I really think is so fantastic about Cohen's is the enthusiasm the people who are doing it have. The impact that the program has on serotonin levels is great. In the end, whilst losing weight is appealing to people, I think the fact that most of us, most of the time, are joyful about the process is the thing that really speaks volumes!

What an interesting read this evening has been on this link anyways...

I must say that I have to agree with all the other successful people who have done and are completing the Cohen's program.

We all understand that exercise and diet go hand in hand. These two together can assist you to live a healthy active life. In saying that, this specific individually written program is to the health and betterment to us all.

Do you really think that if we didn't have problems with food, hormones etc that we would just do this because its the easy answer. I mean if you actually take the time to read the posts you will find that the majority of people who are on this program have tried everything humanly possible. Don't you think that this would include healthy eating and exercise?

I'm not going to buy into this argument. I have worked hard to lose what I have done. I do exercise from time to time and can already feel the difference in the vast array of things that I can now do that I couldn't do previously. When I finish Cohens, exercise will again be a permanent part of my life, as to will be continuing to eat healthy and avoid those foods that made me sick in the first place.

I can not thank the Cohen's clinic or this forum enough for the inspiration and support I have received.

Thanks fellow Cohen supporters for your positive and inquisitive postings.

Here! Here! Heavenly Lamb.

I went to NSW for a visit recently to see family and friends. They seen how big I was before and what size I am now and out of those people I have 4 people who have since signed up. They couldn't believe it was me!

Commisions all round I say :)

Hi everyone

Still going strong after 10 weeks - my skin has cleared up and I am feeling great -

Loving the support you all give me and your stories are inspirational.

My PCOS symptoms have all but disappeared.

And to think - not one unnatural product has passed my lips - and nor do I feel like eating any other way

Have a great day

Hi Losing,

What a job well done..

Isn't it wonderful when those nasty symptoms vanish..???

I can't tell people enough that I was in so much pain from PCOS and a few other things that I could barely function. I now don't even notice a period coming... after 22 years of constant daily pain I feel like I have a new lease on life!

Isn't this just amazing?

Congratulations on making the Cohen's choice!

Faithie

I was going to write in and say I have terrible flu and a sore throat and feel yuk 1 week into the program. But I'm a bit worried that some may assume its the beginning of the end...instead of just flu.lol

Perhaps we can get back on track and continue to offer support to each other. Whilst we appreciate the help from outsiders, we all came into this eyes open. I personally find it very difficult to exercise carrying around the equivalent to an extra child. As soon as its gone, I'm there, I would love to play basketball, ride horses, play tennis etc etc, but at the moment all these are impossible.
As for heart health, my cholesterol is so high they want to put me on tablets, I've been on beta blockers for migraines (which mean I can't get my heart rate into the range needed for fat loss regardless of how hard I workout at the gym)
We know it is a low calorie diet, we are eating it every day.But we choose this way and you choose your way. Apologies if it seems rude, but we just want to be left alone to get on with our fad diet. Thanks for help, we appreciate your concern, but right here, right now this is working for us.

anyway, I personally will be abit wary of posting on this forum, as I didn't realise we had so many lurkers.

Thanks to our regulars for trying to keep the thread honest, its much appreciated.

Jayce! You were NOT 100kg! You DON'T look like you were! OMG! I'm super inspired!!! *faint*

Yes, we were that couple at the office last Monday :) it's great doing the program together. We go grocery shopping and cook together and it's great fun to be able to talk to each other about the program.

Ok, I woke up to 12 reported posts on this thread....I'm gonna work on getting it cleaned up, but its going to take a few min's.

good advice Kristine!!!! sent so many reports of them all and voila GONE! it's like magic!! Thanks and now lets get back to where we were before we were rudely interupted!!:p

Thanks newbride02 and maleficent

We know we are in good hands, here.

Your support is very much appreciated and the quality of the moderation is what makes this such a popular forum

You are to be congratulated for your positive and fast response

Warmest regards

Kristine

Thanks for the clean up super moderators!! :D:D:D

Now i know were supposed to be drinking CAFFEINE free diet coke but theres a special on at coles for a 24pack/cans for ten dollars somethings and right now i just CANNOT afford to buy the 24 pack 'caffeine free' type as its $18!!!!!!!

I dont drink any coffee at all and i only drink one can of diet soft drink a day as my treat so i wonder if it would be okay if i replaced my 3 cups of coffee allowed with one can of normal diet coke...

what does everyone think??

Ibeat ya too it - NewBride :D I think I got 'em all:D

I can't believe that you actually deleted posts that were opinions and stated factual information trying to give helpful advice.....people took time out of their busy lives to post here and you deleted their posts.

I'm really puzzled, however your the boss.

I thought an open forum is to discuss peoples opinions. Just because some don't agree with others doesn't mean that the opinions should just be deleted. Is that how you guys work here? You just delete a post that you don't agree with?

To Jayce and WindyBlue

Jayce: I wanted to say this a long time ago but didn't have the time so now I'm doing it... You look so damn good!!!! I'm sure you are a head turner now! I'm so proud of you!!! Keep going yah! I'm so so sure your boyfriend is so proud of you! You look so pretty and sweet! Yayayyaya!

Windy Blue: I wanted to say that you and your hubby are so fortunate to have each other. It's really good to embark on healthier eating habits together. I have been on this program for a year and my tastebuds have completely changed. What I find sweet, salty is bland to my family. And honestly, my family isn't used to me choosing healthier alternatives sine I was eating junk food for the past 25 years! Yup... so when I complete refeed, I will go figure out how to align my eating habits, lifestyle and tastebuds with my family's. Seriously now, I can't even bear to buy a box of chocolate chip cookies for my family... I find it too sinful...

Keep going on this program all! I just called for my refeed and will most probably start when I reach 66 kg. That will be a nice complete round figure of 60 kg loss!

I hope I will reach 66 kg this week... keep my fingers crossed. When I do reach 66 kg, I'm going share my joys, triumph with the Cohen family here!

Persevere on, Cohenites! Keep trying and the weight will just come off, some how, some time!
