Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Hi everyone,
I have an appointment to go and see someone on friday! woohooo. I am definately joining. I was wondering if anyone here attended the O'halloran Hill office in Adelaide? And if so what the support was like!. I was on the program in 2002 and the support wasn't so flash back then! Everyone here is so inspiring.I can't wait.

Bosses

Thanks HeavenlyLamb and Losing for putting things into perspective for me :)

I've always been known to enjoy my food so it will be a surprise to many people. However, if the results are showing, I suppose it makes me look better in more ways than the physical.

ok so i finally have my eating plan. i am travelling for work rest of this week and have family celebration on the weekend so i think i will start tuesday - i don't start anything on a monday. i have modified my eating habits over the past couple of weeks, reducing amounts, cutting out bread, taties, rice etc so fingers crossed the first few weeks aren't too traumatic. will let you all know how i am getting on at the end of next week.

send me good positive thoughts - banish the thought of cold sparkling champers from my mind and let's hope i have enough guts (no pun) to commit to this. you guys are such an inspiration.

Mrs Clooney, you can do this! AND even better it will work!!!
I remember when i started, 45kg to loose. it was almost incomprehendable. such a huge amount........
But it does get lost, and relatively quickly. once you get into the swing of things, the program is REALLY easy to follow, and the results are astounding. i get so many complements, and have even inspired (just by them watching me lose weight) many of those close to me to lose weight as well.
The complements are AWESOME, and the looks on peoples faces when they haven't seen me for a while is amazing. some of them are speechless and get that "gobsmacked gaping goldfish" look. (it's funny watching them pick their jaws up off the ground!!)
If you don't mind me asking how much weight do you have to loose Mrs Clooney?

Well i am now into size 12 Woo hoo!!!! size 12 bottom and size 12 top!
I must admit though my poor boobs are getting smaller again! (i was a 16DD) and the skin on them is loose. the other half joked last night about how i was going to look like one of the African tribeswomen on National Geographic!
Oh well. they will firm up.
Have a wonderful day every one

Well done!!
Make sure you invest in a great bra.... I have just started being able to wear some really good ones that I used to wear a few years ago. When I did my last visit, my bust measurement had gone UP by over 3cm!! ( I have gone down from a 20DD and the ones I'm wearing now are 14DD or 14D.) But I look much smaller than I did wearing saggy, ill-fitting bras. Make sure you get fitted properly as well, because we are generally not that great at selecting good bras for our size. I think the theory is that we generally buy a size which is too large and a cup that is too small!
I figure my bra covers a multitude of sins and sags!

Thanks for the support and suggestions folks! I'm about to have lunch so I'm feeling much happier already :p

I have three options for breakfast - yoghurt, egg & veg, or cheese & veg. I tried yoghurt one morning and my tummy rumbled like it was the end of the world because it can't digest lactose very well. So I've been doing egg & veg.

I noticed the other day that Vaalia have a natural low fat & lactose free yoghurt. I saw it in my local woolies the other day in a 2x 175g pack. Maybe this would be worth checking out in the future if you feel like you need a little variety.

Mez,
Vaalia is the only yogurt I can eat due to me having issue with the watery and lumpy textures but Vaalia is creamy. Word to others dont try and be a tighty and buy crappy cheap yogurt it ended up in the bin after 3 mornings of me gagging my way thru.
2 weeks tomorrow 9.2 kilos down lol now only 30.8 to loose

Hi Tanya! Welcome to the program :) I started on Jan 20 and already my clothes are fitting so much better. In fact, colleagues have noticed that my clothes are handing a bit looser!

It takes a lot of discipline but with the end in mind, the inspirational sharing and support from this forum's members, I've gotten use very quickly to this new lifestyle of weighing, preparing and eating home-cooked food.

I'm just a NewB and haven't started for long so I look forward to losing those extra weight with you :)

Hiwindy
WOW that is so encouraging. i picked up my program today and much more options than i thought. i was glad that it was quite different from others i had seen as some "free loaders" at work are just copying others cause "they are all the same". so here we go. did a shop and organised a weeks menu plan. very excited.

4 weeks from here till weigh in.......:D

it will be great to track along side someone as it seems we have around the same to lose. also great to see those further ahead for inspiration.

good luck all:D

Welcome Mrs Clooney,
i am a newb also. you can do it. everyone i speak to that is on Cohens say that once you get on the train, it is pretty easy riding. so here is to us, to will power, health and lighter all round. it is a mind game and us women are good at that. no offence to any fellas out there. ;)

look forward to sitting here in three months having a celebratory glass off champers while posting a photo of the hot new me:p

Hi everyone,

It's great to see so much terrific progress and those moving tickers very inspiring!!

Am into my 4th week with 7kgs and 25cms gone Hurrah!!!!:D
and no longer as lethargic.............. I seem to have my morning energy back
thank heavens (say my family) they can cope with me obsessing about the program but me being so slow was a bit "wierd" for them!

I also use the Vaalia natural yoghurt and find that it is creamy and not so tart!

Looking forward to another week of loosing for us all:)

Hi dreamer!,
Thanks for noticing me LOL I have posted a few times over the last week and never had a response. I thought about using the old program but i never got a refeed. So that scares me a tad! I guess I am hoping that with this forum I will get the support I need that I never got with the clinic. Although things may be different now. As it was 4 years ago. So here's to a new life as it is my time!! I am getting married in November. My partner is a gym junkie and has a body to die for. My weight loss has been an ongoing battle for the last 4 years. We have been together for nearly 2 years and I know he will be a neverending support for me. As my dreams as his as well :) I look forward to getting to know you all a little better. Cheers

ticker update..

yep once again i'm back on track... after christmas. I once thought this was easy to maintain... but wow it taked a hell of a lot to get back in controll after such a big event as christmas... But here i am to say i HAVE DONE IT!!!
I have 22 more to go and probable around 20 till i order refeed but it is now a race to loose 20 before my plan expires on the 8th may 07. thats 4 months so 5 kg a month i have to keep reminding myself that I NEED TO DO THIS FOR MYSELF!!!

Hello.....

Hi all, just thought I would introduce myself. Was pointed in this direction from the staff at cohen's after a christmas relapse. I only started the program a week before christmas, so was probably a bad idea in the first place!
Am thankfully back on track again now, and have lost an additional 5 kilos this week. Pity every week couldn't be so successful hey?
Am loving the program though. The first few days are a real struggle, but after that, I think as long as I don't deviate even the slightest I'll be fine! :)
I have quite a bit to lose, so am looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next few months.

Hide the Scales

Hello

Well, had my 2 week weigh-in yesterday (my clinic weighs us every 2 weeks to keep us on the straight and narrow - but it does go against the grain of the program, ie only supposed to weigh once a month) ... and only lost 620 gms ... big sigh :( - but I did lose another 3 cm so my total cm loss is now 77 cm (as I've explained in earlier posts, I'm experiencing slow weight loss but fast cm loss - go figure!).

I was feeling very flat (pity my stomach wasn't too!) after the weigh-in ... and after admitting to being a serial weigher earlier on in this forum, I went home and asked my husband to hide both my scales and my tape measure! I also made my next weigh-in for a month's time - instead of 2 weeks. Hopefully, this will make me less obsessive about the whole 'watching the kgs' thing and maybe I'll have a nice surprise in a month's time. It was starting to consume my life ...

It's very hard ... I know many of you are enjoying the quick weight loss promised (which was the big carrot for me in joining this program) ... but not meant to be for me ... never mind - I'll get there! :D

Kind regards

Taffy

Hey Dreamer, thanks.
I don't have my new programme yet! I am going to the clinic on friday to re-join. So I guess it will be a couple of weeks until i have it. Today I started to use my old programme. I am guessing i have around 23kg to lose. I am the same weight now that I was when I joined 4 years ago. Although I did only lose 13kg before I fell off the wagon.....so to speak! I am hoping to get a bit of a head start into it before my new one is ready. While my mindset is good I need to run with it. If I keep thinking I am starting in two weeks I may just gain 5kg stuffing myself while i realise the restrictions i will have, so i need to be conscious of that. So how long have you been using your old program and how much weight have you and do you need to lose??

Hello all. I had my blood test yesterday and am awaiting the call to get my program. I would like to say that I made the decision to join after reading your forum! I am 88.7kg and a size 16 (just) my goal is to be 60kgs and I have every part of my anatomy crossed that this will work. I am scared and very hopeful - I don't really know what to expect but the need to be thin and healthy is just too strong!

I will post my ticker up and any advice that you ladies could offer would be greatly appreciated. One thing I would like to know is what is the least amount of weight people lost in their first month - I have heard anbout 8 - 15kgs and if I do not reach it would be nice to know that I am not the only one!

No Valiaa in Singapore

Hello! Thanks for the Valiaa tip Mez. But I haven't seen the brand on the shelves here in Singapore. I take Brownes when I do take yoghurt - it's less sour and easier to gulp down....i still don't like yoghurt...so I'm eating the egg/onion/mushroom omelette and cheese and veg grill suggested by others on the forum.

heyfatty, focus is what keeps us on the path and encouragement is what makes the going good. Imagine - we'll both look so super way before Christmas comes round again!

It's Chinese New Year in Singapore in 3 weeks. Like Thanksgiving/Christmas, we have big family reunion dinners and loads of treats. But the family's been supportive so I don't think it'll be too much of an issue. The bigger problem will be my holiday trip to Bali. I'll be there for 6 days as hubby attends a conference. Both of us will have to be very careful about what we eat. We won't be expecting weight loss but to maintain will be good.

Having Troubles

Hello All

I have been avoiding contact for such a long time. I have fallen off the horse and am finding so so hard to get back on. I guess i have been eating steak chicken yoghurt etc for 3 months straight and just needed a break. Now i can not get back into the swing of things and hate myself for it.

I have not put on any weight which is great. But i am , alas, 23 kilos from the finish line, which appears so far away.
I am so over meats and there are no vegeterian options, no tofu etc available to me! I am hating it. I need variety. I have experimated with receipes but they task crappy to me? May be i am not a born cook!

Sorry to bring you all down.... hope you are all doing much better than me. I am due for my blood test this week. OUCH! funny, i have never received any feedback about the blood test... wonder what terrible news this one may actually bring...

Take Care.

Hi Livingit

Ask you consultant regarding the tofu - perhaps it is only included for vegetarian participants - but it is certainly an allowed food.

Are you making sure that you are using your whole 'Shopping List'? It's not all about 'meat' as such, and although meat is the most convenient source of protein there are really so many ways of eating the food.

Have you tried, for example, making a sasoned pate and eating it with your crispbread allowance and a tossed salad? Or stuffing zucchini or other 'stuffable' vegetables? Take the emphasis off the meat and present the food slightly differently, and all of a sudden the same ingredients can be savoury or sweet, formal or casual.

I found that a warm chicken salad at lunch and a casserole at dinner were my main meal choices, but that doesn't mean I didn't experiement, just that I settled in to a reasonable pattern which didn't take much thinking about and only donned the chef's hat if boredom set in. After messing about for one plate of food I generally was quite happy to go back to the usual fare.

I never received any feedback regarding the blood tests - I can't think what feedback could be forthcoming? As long as the blood is there, fresh, red and healthy that's about all I need to know.

Keep on keeping on

Regards

Kristine
