Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Welcome Carol

And congrats so far....yes this forum is very addictive. It keeps me on the straight and narrow. Why don't you open up your own diary that way you can keep track on your weight loss and discuss your every day activities...even if it's not weight related. (if you wish)
Good luck and welcome once again.

Sam:)

Hi Carol

Congratulation for taking the first step and starting Cohen's, it has been great for me. I am heading the end of my 4th week this Friday, so looking forward to seeing the results after a full mths work.

This forum is very addictive and I have found it to be of great support and inspiration. All of the people in here are so wonderful and supportive and it is so nice to be able to share what you are going through with others in the same boat.

Anyway good luck on the rest of your journey and if you stick to it 100% I know you will be at your goal before you know it and feeling fantastic.

Hi Carol & welcome to the forum. Congratulations on choosing Cohen's to lose your weight. I hope we can provide you with plenty of support & encouragement in the forum. It is a very good idea to start a diary as it's very therapeutic. All the best, cate.

Thank you everybody for the encouragement.. it is more than weightloss that I benefit from the diet.. See... i never cook, but with this diet I have to cook for myself and is adventurous with spices.. =)

Hi there,

Saturday today, started my diet on Monday. Was absolutely staaaarving on Monday and Tuesday, and very tired on Tuesday after work (slept for hours).. before going to bed. Since Wednesday it has been going great though. Not hungry anymore (almost forgot to eat my crackers and fruit a couple of times).

I feel ready to dot this!

Welcome to the forum & Cohen's J-9 & congratulations on your first week. It sounds like you may breeze through the program. I look forward to following your progress. It has helped me with motivation & support to have my own diary. It's very therapeutic. If you decide to, just start a new thread & name it whatever you like"J-9's diary" or whatever. I type in mine daily & it helps me keep on track, even(especially?) after reaching my goal weight, cheers, Cate.

My weight bounce back

On Saturaday night i ate out at this restaurant who offer Cohen, I am not sure if the manager heard me correctly. I told him 115grams of chicken, not sure if he got it right. Anyway. I measured at 73.5 on Friday and now is73.7.. sigh.. not sure if i am scaring myself. Will measure again tomorrow.. your weight lost rate is like mine.. :p

Welcome Mac

look forward to following to your progress. Could you give us a bit more info on what your goals are and maybe a bit of info on yourself. We are a very supportive bunch here so once again welcome.

I started Cohens Dec 2006 and completed refeed in March 2007.
I lost a total of 15kg. But I am currently back on a revised plan to lose a few unwanted kilos since christmas.

Hi Karinarrgh, Are you in Australia? There is not a clinic near me but the consultants in Tas travel throughout the state & I could have seen them in either Launceston or Devonport if I had wanted to. I did not know that initially & saw them in Hobart, where they are based. In the US it is only an internet program. I am not sure about other countries. Let us know where you are & I'm sure the information will soon follow, cheers, Cate.

Thankyou, but i already look at that and none are particularily close to me :(
Hmmm
I wrote an email to the tamworth one, so ill see if they reply

HI Karinarrgh

I live 5 hours away from my clinic! I have done my program via "correspondence" the entire time. I have never had a weigh-in or anything like that... and in 10 months (really slow losses...no deviations....long story!!) I have only met my consultant twice. I have received most of my support through the forums ...although my consultant has been excellent!

It probably doesnt matter that they are far away from you.... because you just get your program and run with it and do all of your "support" stuff over the phone and via email....

Dont let your distance be a barrier!! In some ways it actually makes you stronger I think! It means I have to be really motivated and in control and not look to my consultant to prop me up every week or month.

Look forward to seeing you around the boards!!

Blessya

Support on Cohens

Hi again

Kanndew is right I found the bulk of my support from this forum I did have access to a local clinic but I rarely visited them, I think I did my first 2 - 4week weigh ins and that was it they didn't keep accurate records either......and when it came to refeed I picked it up and mainly corresponded with them via email or phone and I never was encourged to come to weigh after the refeed was completed.
This forum has been and still is my main support I sometimes think if I had this 20 years ago I wouldn't have struggled with my weight for so long.
Like Kannadew said if you really want to do this you will......all you really need is your plan, a clinic to have your blood tested and a set of accurate weighing scales for you and the food and this forum.

Goodluck

Hi all,
Im new. Have paid my $ and filled in my forms and had my blood just waiting on my program.

Just wondering, how often to you go see the clinic? Is that where you are supposed to be weighed and measured? If so, does that mean i should go before i start? (havnt been yet)

Thanks

I went to the clinic in Hobart once only. I was not weighed there or measured. I did all of that at home. I only ever saw my consultant one more time when I went in to Launceston to pick up my re-feed. It means you are responsible for & to yourself. They are there if you need them. It doesn't matter at all how far away they are. You can ring or email. My consultants were very good with prompt replies. Cheers, cate
