Cate's Diary

Yay for comfortable clothes in uncomfortable weather! It can easily make the difference between going out and sitting on the couch. Also: keeping that much weight off for so long is a major achievement, kudos to you.

Thanks LaMa. Keeping that weight off will always be a battle, but now that I am no longer ashamed of having been so big in the first place, I do feel proud of what I have achieved. Getting back down that last 5kg feels like an almost unattainable goal, but I'm so stubborn, that I just can't give up on it!
The comfortable, warm clothes made a big difference. I feel a little guilty about not waiting for the last group to come in, but I don't make a habit of leaving early.
Thanks LJ. It's nice having you back again. Dinner & the wine were delicious!

Yesterday-I weighed (no loss) I did 20 squats, played 18 holes of golf. I have done 1 of my 2 "fasts" this week.

After that NYTimes article, I don't know if I can handle any more of your findings! I'll admit I had an emotional response to the previous one - somewhere between anger, sadness and disappointment. And "It's just not fair!!!"

Me too LJ. I promise I won't put any more of those in my diary. I'm just going to pretend I never read that!
Stay Stubborn!
That's me, Stacy! I'll never give up.

Our house is back to normal now- kids are all off to school, our OS, D is at work & I'm sitting in my recliner drinking espresso. Maybe fasting on a day where I cook bacon, eggs, mushrooms & zucchini for everyone is not such a great idea........my stomach is making such a racket!
I'm going to go play golf again tomorrow, so changed my FD to today. I can do it! I think I'll now make a pot of herbal tea.

Your will power with FDs always impress me Cate (specially considering that you are on this sort of plan for awhile now)........girllll, thankfully I'm rarely usually hungry-hungry so intermittent fasting is natural for me (I stop eating around 6-6:30pm in order to have a good digestion way before bedtime, otherwise I can't sleep well) and usually only eat again after 8am...but I must say, when I am on my HUNGRY days, forget about controlling me...I can't stop eating till I feel satisfied, and I can only imagine if that would happen on a FD, that I would sabotage all my plans on a heartbeat - a growling/hungry stomach is one of the worst feelings EVER.........the good thing is that you only do a couple of days a week, so you always can think of TOMORROW to eat all of that OR, if you are really diligent and serious and not a constant cheater, play around on which days you will do a FD for that week. ;-)

Xoxox.

Nice to see you are doing well.

Good plan. For now I'm going to assume those issues were a result of the extreme diet/exercise plans the contestants went through. I know enough people who succeeded in taking off and keeping off the people that it's gotta be true!

Thanks Delsid. I got through it OK, but have been hungry all day! It's the cold weather I think!
Thank you CaliGirl. I do swap the days around to fit in, but really want to keep doing 2 days a week. I actually fitted in some extra exercise today, so am happy with the day. I am sooo looking forward to breakfast though.
I think LJ that the article relates to people who have lost a lot of weight very quickly.
I think I'll head to bed, so I stop thinking about food
'night folks, xoxo Cate

Cold weather doesn´t help to convince your body it doesn´t need a lot of calories. Great work sticking to your plan!

Thanks, LaMa. I am still hovering on the cusp of you know what. It's being very elusive. I'm off to golf today so that will help. I have to remind myself that I am still 7kg lighter than last August & am not gaining.
It's a better day today & is not windy. There are clouds, but they're not dark. I'll be playing with the men today so should play better. I thought it might make me play better on Wednesday with my partner. We are 2 shots behind in the C-Grade championships so need to do some catch-up. 2 shots is nothing. Pft......I have not been playing very well lately. I'm not sure why.
Better scoot. Cheers, Cate

Just saw this on Facebook & thought it worth sharing for a laugh :D

THAT is meeee :D
That is funny!
I played golf yesterday with the men. All 3 in my group were low handicappers. I played some decent shots, but my game was very ordinary really. I only just managed to finish. I was knackered. Maybe playing golf the day after a fast day is not such a good idea. I was really aching too. I did find out that there is a really good chiropractor in our local town though & I will go see him this week. Halfway through my swing it hurts in my lower back, right-hand side. It has done, on & off, for a few months now.
G & I were going to go do some outside work today, but it has started raining & is cold. We may just have to give it a miss I think. A lazy day would not go astray. I can feel some reading in front of the fire might just happen.

Look after yourself dear Cate!!! Listen to your body! Hope you get to rest today and regenerate. Lots of love!

Thanks Hon. I will. I loved seeing your excitement at sharing so much with Caligirl. She's lovely! You will have lots of those moments in the forum. & will find that you have a lot more in common with more people than you could ever possibly have imagined xoxo

Hi Cate! I know it's been forever since I've come on over...lol. Enjoyed catching up on your diary and hope your back is on the mend, so you can get back to golfing as soon as possible! :beating:
