Cate's Diary

I can't sleep with socks on either.
That's too bad about the scale reading but it could be just water retention too couldn't it?
But anyhow your plan to make those adjustments sounds good too. Have you ever tried the lemon drinks without honey? I can do just lemon and hot water but if I add ginger then I do put a bit of honey in. I also like a nice variety of herb teas though and never put honey in them. Haven't had that sleepytime one in a while but I remember I used to enjoy it.

I'll fall asleep with socks on no trouble (usually when I'm sick) but then I'll wake up and take them off during the night so I know what you mean. Sorry to hear about the scales :( What happened to monthly weighing though?

Hi, Liza. I don't like the lemon drink without honey, but love lots of herbal teas too. I bought this today-
Jilungin Dreaming Tea
Wild crafted Jilungin Dreaming Tea harvested by the Nyul Nyul people, who are the custodians of the land where Jilungin grows: the beautiful Twin Lakes area of the Kimberleys. All profits from this product go to them.
I could have some weird dreams tonight!
LaMa- I joined a monthly challenge on the 5:2 forum, so thought I should weigh at the start of each month for that. I'll weigh myself again in 2 weeks & then a week after we get back from our golfing trip. Boo scales!!!

Good morning, forum friends.
I slept better last night. The tea was weird & I dreamt a lot which I haven't done for ages. They were ok dreams. G was twitching as he went to sleep & I went & slept in another bed. That always helps. I woke feeling really refreshed.
The GK's aren't that keen on going out for lunch so I suggested we go to the gelato cafe for icecream after a light lunch here. They & their dad are now staying the night & we'll take the kids home in the morning before our game of golf.
It's cool here today.
I think I would have had about 1400 cals yesterday, which wasn't bad considering we went out for lunch. We have been having lunch every 3 months with G's siblings & partners since their mother died. It's a good idea. We take it in turns.

Interesting! It'll be neat to see if the tea always has that effect or if that was a one off.

That does sound like a really nice idea to stay connected like that

That's a really lovely idea. If you don't plan these things in, years can go by before you see each other.

Hi, Liza, LaMa & Em.
I'm going to have one of these teas every night until it's gone, so I'll report how my sleep goes. It's not a pleasant taste.
The lunches are a good idea. Family is very important to us.
I won't be here until tomorrow night probably.

I'm intrigued by the magnesium oil - is the idea that the magnesium is absorbed through the skin? In terms of teas, I was given some camomile tea - I should give that more of a go.

Salute to you for this! It's so easy to let family slip, or be "edged out" of the social calendar by the next generation (who are also so important to not let slip - and often in the nature of things have more instability, like accommodation crises, for example, in their lives).

Yes, Amy. The magnesium I'm is absorbed through the skin. Thanks for the reminder. I'll do it now :)

You're nice to do that. When that happens, I'm the one to go to the couch. I will let my wife know that she could be the one to vacate...although I wonder how well that would go over :)

All this talk of magnesium...I really need to get onto that!I sleep ok, but it would probably help with my back

Jack- G is such a terrible sleeper that I am happy to head off into another bed as I really do value my sleep. Our spare queen bed is very comfortable.
Cate hope you have a lovely time at the luncheon . They sure come around quickly
They do, Petal. I enjoy them more now than I first did & it is a good idea.

Magnesium oil is wonderful. Any aches & pains I rub magnesium oil in. I think rubbing it into the soles of your feet at night really does help you sleep. It also feels like you are being really kind to your feet. Our feet put up with so much!

We had a lovely time with the GK's & dropped them home this morning before golf. G & I had a lovely day today & were runners up. We won the raffle & another prize for one of my shots. We made new friends & have signed up 2 couples to our social group. It was a very positive day.

Wow sounds like a really great day Cate! Lovely to hear!

Seeing how relieved I am to hear how much more fun golf is these these I can only imagine how delighted you are :grouphug:

Thanks, LaMa. It is so, so different!
