Cate's Diary

I really like the idea . We do aboit 2 a year mainly planned by me . Might try and Do a bit more .
raally pleased you enjoy them now I recall you dreading them .

I did use to dread the family get-togethers, Petal, but I see now that they really do help us to feel connected. Everyone gets so tangled up in their own lives that it's easy to actually lose contact.
I'm pleasantly weary this morning after playing 18-holes of golf yesterday, not in a buggy. I decided to fast tomorrow instead of today & will again on Friday as I'm going out to lunch again with the golfing ladies on Thursday.
Last night I rubbed magnesium oil into my feet & put some cotton socks on about an hour before bedtime. I also took an extra magnesium capsule as I was cramping a bit & drank lots of water. I drank my Aus bush tea, which by the way is quite awful. Then before I got into bed I massaged some moisturiser into my face, hands & neck. I slept well once again. I woke at 3.30 but went back to sleep within a few minutes.

That sounds like some really lovely self-care Cate. Nice to hear. I wonder if you'll get used to the flavor of that tea or if it's something people just put up with for the good effects. Is that just one type of leaf in that tea, or a blend? I'm annoyed that i forgot again to get some magnesium while I was out today!

I am inclined not to fuss over myself, Liza, but it feels really good to nourish my skin. I use Vegesorb. It's a non-greasy moisturiser based on natural Almond and Apricot kernel oil, fragrance-free and colour free and safe to use on sensitive skin. It's also inexpensive. I haven't worn any makeup for decades, so my skin is ok, but it does get really dry.
The tea is described as "earthy" & I would concur with that. I'll stick with it until it's gone. I'm sure it won't kill me :D
Are you going to get some magnesium oil or magnesium tablets?

Hi, LaMa. I think that bedtime rituals are a good idea, especially if it feels like you are telling your body & brain to wind down.

Your bed time routine sounded so relaxing Cate, like Maria said a bedtime ritual ( I have none) I need to create one I suffer with sleep. Hope fasting goes well today, you’re so good for continuing to keep at it:) it’s so hard

Hi, Kate. I'm resurrecting my bedtime ritual, after being slack with it for too long. Start one tonight xo

I have cleansed toned and moistured my face every night without fail since I was about 18. All before bed. My mum did too and so does my daughter . Good to hear that you are doing it Cate . I love the sound of your moisturer. It's good to feed the skin

The magnesium oil is a bit harsh on my hands, so I'll have to really concentrate on them. It makes your skin feel tight.
I think the ritual is good. I have slept well for the last few nights & will keep it up. I think I'll buy some sleepytime teabags to take away with is & will take my little magnesium spray with me.
I made the mistake of looking at the website for the course we're playing at in the Nationals & it looks SO hard! I will take lots of spare balls. I am getting really nervous. :svengo: I'll try not to thinks about it as it makes me feel sick....
I'm fasting today (500 cals). I woke up yesterday so hungry from golf on Sunday that I decided to postpone it. Good decision.

I keep Magnesium spray in my sideline first aid kit when I work at sporting events, it can make a big difference dealing with cramps.

Are you going to get some magnesium oil or magnesium tablets?
I was aiming for both, but now that I've found i have the epsom salts, I'll make my own oil with that. But I would still like to get some tablets as well. I just about got some today but felt unsure on what type to get so will research some more.

:( That sucks to be feeling sick at the thought. Maybe try some positive visualization--imagining yourself doing well on the course. When is the Nationals?

Can you use gloves?

What's the worst that can happen?

I'll just have to get over myself I think. The nationals are the week after next :svengo:

I'll just wash my hands well after using it, LaMa.
I know, I know. What's the worst that can happen? Maybe I'll surprise myself :blush5:

Cate go out there and have fun . I think you will surprise yourself . Will it be televised ?
It sounds to be a fun trip to me .

The challenging course sounds exhilarating! And they're usually so good to look at, too; it's whole serious profession of its own golf course landscaping, where the sneaky challenges are subtly blended with (with what? gardening? I don't think I've ever seen flowers on a golf course - so..) subtly blended with greenkeeping, I guess. :)

Hi, Amy & Liza. Golf courses are often beautiful. A lot have flowers, but here they're mostly flowering natives. I don't think this course will have many sneaky challenges. Golf is a very challenging game, full stop. I'm going to stop myself thinking about it!

I got through yesterday's FD reasonably easily with the help of a really nice, very low-calorie vegetable soup & small peppered venison & veggie dinner. Veggies are your friend when trying to cut calories. I maybe went a little over 500, but not by much. Just double checked- 528 cals.
I have made really big veggie soup for my next fast day, which will be Friday I think.
I have a day at home on my own as our local golf course is closed due to maintenance. I'll start putting things aside for our golf trip. Who am I kidding? I'll put some more stuff aside :D

Edit: I have decided to have a 1200 cal day today & have my food planned out.
I had 2 eggs & 1/4 avocado on soy & linseed GF toast for breakfast.
Lunch will be some celery & snow peas, 2 very small venison meatballs & 2 Ryvitas with quark & fresh tomato, followed by an orange.
Dinner will be peppered venison casserole with lots of cooked veggies(beans, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, potato, sweet potato & zucchini), followed by 1/2 a pear & 1/2 a nectarine.
No wine.
I have a whole day in front of me & it is time to get moving.
