I love lizards too Rebel, but don't like keeping any wild animal as a pet.
They are gorgeous Hana. We are very lucky to live where we do, even if the possums wreak havoc with any attempt at growing fruit. They are still cute though
He is a jerk Cory, but we'll deal with him. He will only get help if he asks for it.
Thanks, Morgane. We'll do our best to not let him affect us badly. He's not worth it.
That new captain is finding the "job" a lot harder than it looked before he started it. He feels like he isn´t doing as well as his predecessor and needs someone to blame. G resigning may mean new guy will gloat a bit but then he´ll no longer have anyone to blame and everyone will see him for what he really is.
I think you have hit the nail on the head LaMa. He isn't doing as well as G did, but then G has such high standards for how he does a job(too high?), that it would be hard to match them. G thought he was helping him out, but if it's being seen as interfering, then he does need to totally step back from anything that could possibly be construed as interfering with his position. I don't think G needs to quit the Committee, though as there are many jobs that need doing & the captain is not expected to do them all.
Emily- you actually just made me smile from bemusement I think. G was the captain for about 5 years before he resigned at the end of last year. The guy who sent the text messages is the new co-captain & the one G spoke to yesterday is the other co-captain. G assumed that he was aware of the "issue" but he wasn't. They decided to share the job, which was a good decision as it is very time-consuming & involves lots of organising. We were both very grateful that they took on the position. G has been very supportive of them & stuck up for them when anyone else criticised. Picking up trash around the course is hardly part of the captain's job. The course manager is someone else(D) & he & the 2 of us are the ones who usually pick up the trash. G & I usually do around the clubhouse(I'm the bar manager) & D does the course. G rang him first to ask if he would like us to do the course & he accepted the offer with thanks. We are not people who look for conflict or feel we need to be controlling or to hold power. I'm sorry that you could possibly see me that way. I suppose you don't know me very well. You have not upset me at all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Today- G has gone to golf early as it's a 27-hole memorial event today. He won it last year. He is playing with 3 really nice guys & should enjoy his day. I hope so anyway!
I have a day at home on my own, which I haven't had for quite a while. I should get off my butt & move. I only had a banana & some yoghurt for breakfast & I'm looking forward to lunch. I am having some home-made vegetable soup for lunch, which G made yesterday & may have a toastie with it, so I'm not tempted to snack. I haven't weighed for a week, so had better do that tomorrow. Bye for now, xoxo Cate
