Hi Mr Vee & thanks for the compliment. The hat came from the op shop, as did the dress. The cows are indeed beef cows, not dairy. We live in a fairly lush farming district that is a mix of both mainly. You must have been hungry when you saw that photo.
Hi R- Thank you! It has been really hot here too. It sure hits you hard when it arrives. I did a 6 hour shift at the golf club last night as the club was stuck....again....& boy, was it hot behind the bar, stocking fridges etc. It was the Christmas Turkey Run(as distinct from the usual Thursday Chicken Run, held over Daylight Savings) & everyone drank fairly well as it was so hot. They have a barbecue & buy their stuff from you as well, so it was a good opportunity to do some freezer tidying. I made a bit extra for the club last night as some burgers & sausages were left over from another function & when they offered them around I suggested it would be nice to donate them instead to the club. Nice bonus.
Hi Icy & thank you sweets. It's funny hearing about freezing cold Christmases! Most decorations are for the Northern hemisphere & I try to steer clear of them as it seems so crazy when we're usually spending Christmas outside & slapping on sunscreen. No snowmen here! We tend to avoid the big baked hot fare & go for the barbie or a selection of hot and cold. We always have salads. I have trouble imagining what a Canadian Christmas would be like. It just doesn't get that cold here. We are thinking we may go to Canada in 2015. We were thinking our YS would be living there so we would visit him, but I think I would like to see it anyway. I would also like to visit NYC again. It will depend on the situation with our elderly mothers.
I am about to head into town before it gets too hot to do some food shopping. I'd better scoot. I'm playing golf tomorrow in our club Christmas fun day, with my LH & 2 of the vets(male) in a 4 person Ambrose. It should be great fun. They are really nice guys- one's 83 & the other about my LH's age I suppose. They should be good company.
Bye for now xoxo Cate
