Camy's diary

Thanks girls!! Problems solved with the man... phew! I did not get in contact and eventually he did and apologized, then we fought some more because he understood nothing (as usual!!) and then I told him I wanted to talk to him once he has made his mind up, whatever his decision was, but I needed an answer.
He later called to tell me he told his flatmates that he was moving out! Good!

Food of the day:
Breakfast: 1 banana, 1 kiwi, 8 strawberries
Lunch: chicken sushi (250 cals)
No snacks
Dinner: some sushi and tons of fruit and chocolatey creamy stuff! It was my friend's BD and she was having a fruit and cake party. I totally overate on the chocolatey stuff, I feel sickish and I feel guilty... argh!

Exercise:
25 minutes elliptical
150 sit ups
good long stretches!

Camy

Shortest gym visit EVER! Went in, got undressed, put on my swimming suit, showered, went to the pool got told that the swimming team is training and I won't be allowed to swim for the day, got back to the locker room, took a good long shower, came out!

So no exercise for me today. I am dancing tonight at a concert (my jazz band's concert needed a dancer so I volunteered).
Have studied next to nothing, did a past paper and was very smug that I could do it without studying. Then stopped doing work and lost time. When I looked at another past paper I realized I had just been lucky, I cannot do most of the other oens. Now I am in the very noisy library trying to do soem work, but I only have like 20 minutes.

Food of the day this far:
Breakfast: 5 grapes, 1 apple
Lunch: 1 rice triangle, 4 small sushis (that would probably only be like 250 or so cals)

I have to try to eat something else!! Dinner will be at a restaurant. Not sure which one yet, hopefully Thai! I would LOVE Thai food!
Camy

Yesterday's food updated:
Breakfast: 1 apple, 5 grapes
Lunch: small amount of sushi
Snack: another small amount of sushi
Dinner: chicken breast, rice and small amount of greens (choi sum and spinach)
Treat: 3 spoonfuls of nutella

The rollercoster this weight loss is being is on a downwards spiral again, I had lost almost 2 pounds until friday an now on sunday I have put all of that back on. How exactly I don't know, I can't believe that a bit of chocolate would negate all the hard work of the week...
But however, life has to go on.
I need to study like 9 hours today, tomorrow is my second exam, and then I only have 1 more and that is it! Yey!
Camy

Just a quickie:
I have found out that with my ridiculous weight loss of 100 g I have actually gone down a point on my BMI and now it is 23.9!!!!! That is a huge step!!!!!! I am sort of in the middle of healthy now!!!! Incredible!

Food of the day:
Breakfast: 1 banana, 1 kiwi, 1 glass of OJ
Lunch: salmon (1/2 a steak), potatoes, cucumber (the pack said 230 cals... I thought it would have been more)
Snack: soy latte and an apple
Dinner: cod and fresh veggies

Exercise: nothing except for frying my brain studying! Tomorrow is exam nr.2! Yey tomorrow at 1 o clock I am 2/3 there!!
Camy

Thanx RB, I thought people had forgotten me already!

The exam went well!! Yeyeyeyeyey!! Just 1 more and I am done... can't believe it! The last one is the hardest but it is also the most previsible one! The questions are very repetitive, so I am planning on doing past papers tomorrow and wednesday and thursday and then I should be fine for friday!

Today we are going to a concert, I can't wait! I am very excited about this!!! Not sure I will get to post afterwards so I will post food and exercise beforehands. The man has decided he would like to come to the pool with me today, which is fine, because I have shaved and I am gonna look good ;)!!

Also yesterday he said the sentence we all long to hear during sex: "Ouch, your hip bone is hurting me!"

Ok, so food of the day:
Breakfast: 2 slices of gf bread with buttery spread (180 cals), melon and grapes (140 cals)
Lunch: Thai red curry, full of fresh veggies and with some tofu, 1/2 a bowl of rice
Snack: (probably) coffee and a piece of fruit (apple)
Dinner: salad

Exercise: 1 hour of swimming (40 laps... could be less though, I am not stressing!)
100 sit ups
crazy dancing at concert!

That's impossible Camy :D

We share that car ;)

CONGRATS ON NEW BMI and GOOD LUCK ON YOUR EXAMS !!!

:smilielol5: You've just made my day LOL

The 2 mystery pounds are gone once again and since they have been gone for 3 weigh ins and present for one, I am going to go with the magic of the higher number and change my ticker!! So check it out... amazing!!

Thanx wicked for your nice comments, I am glad I could make your day, my friends here didn't get it, but then they are both thin, so they don't really know what a marvel it is to see and feel those hip bones!
On those same lines, my man lifted me up 4 times yesterday during the concert and he would have never been able before my weight loss, so that was amazing too!
And we were fooling around in bed and he smashed me into the bed board, so I was ouching and he said:
"I don't think you should lose the weight afterall!! (I look puzzled) Because now you are light enough for me to actually move you and then chances are I will hurt you! When you were bigger I couldn't move you at all!!!"

The concert was great. Everyone, every single person there, was italian which made me realize how many of them really are here in London. It was my first big outing where I haven't felt sick, so I am very happy. I LOVE knowing what is wrong with me and being able to make it better through diet!

Gotta go and revise now, just one final stretch, 3 more days and I am dine and can celebrate happily ever after (until my dissertation starts that is!),

 That absolutely ROCKS !!! :D
The next step would be: to start feeling the way people perceive you, Camy! :)
I can't wait to hear when that will happen :D

I've meant to ask: what's your major?

Wicked, I am a postgraduate student. I finished medical school last year and I am now doing a master in fetal medicine. I thought it would be easier to continue studying than do my rotations and then finish studying and this master's really looked interesting.
However I am tired of studying and very happy that in a few days my last exam for quite a while will be written.
I am lucky that (probably) my work in africa will count as a year of rotations, but we will see. Otherwise I am young enough to "take a year out" and then rotate afterwards.
I finished med school very early so I am a few years ahead of people (time wise).

Yeah perception is a good argument... I do still look chunky. Like nobody who didn't know me before would say I look thin now (only in comparison with me at 160 pounds, yeah I do look skinny!). From my frame (which is uncovering itself slowly) and my past I think I will be an ideal weight at 120 ish, but whenever I feel really happy with my shape I will stop.
I do remember being 130 ish and feeling fat though... oh well, we will see what happens. My sis is really tiny (from all angles, she is short and thin) and she has tons of problems with her nose and her acne, I have "perfect" skin and a nice nose but got the weight... so everyone has problems with their appearance. You just need to make the best of it!
And unlike my sister getting rid of the weight is much easier than gettnig rid of acne (scars, more than the actual pimples by now) and a bumpy nose!

Food of the day:
Breakfast: 1 banana, 8 strawberries, 1/2 glass of OJ
Lunch: brown rice with some ratatouille and broccoli, greek salad (just a tiny bit though), half a marzipan bar
Snack: apple
Dinner: nicoise salad

Exercise:
swimming (probably just 20 laps, sore from yesterday)
100 sit ups

Playing catchup here, omg thats rude that they didnt tell you or have signs at the door though!
Once i went to the local pools, paid to get in and had 4 kids with me (some of them clearly younger kids). we got in, changed then went to the pools.
The kids pool was closed because somebody pooped in it and the large pool was closed for lessons and only thing open was the diving pool and spa. So i went back up and asked why they even sold me the tickets when they knew the pools we would want to use were un-useable.
Anyway they refunded our money thank god and gave us a day pass on the waterslides as a bonus which helped.

WTG on the weight loss btw, thats fantastic :)
Its funny how everyones weight looks different on them. You say you look chunky at the weight you are, and i have friends who are similar, and yet im only on the edge of looking chunky around the hips and thighs and im a heap heavier! talk about different body types eh.
But yeah the chunky has to go, im re-motivated and on my way to removing the chunky (now that cycling season is over here).

Can't believe I am posting again... I am way too addicted to this!!
Anyhow I did do 30 laps in the end, so good for me! I was very tired but thought why not... 30 laps are 1 km, which is a good distance to swim!

I ate a bit of crap between swimming and dinner. They were out of apples so I got some sushi (200 cals), then ate the other half of the marzipan bar (another 80 cals) and then the man wanted to watch the football and bought us a small pack of crisps to share (another 100 cals). So almost 400 cals in snack!!!
Dinner was sea bass fillet (small but delicious), salad and green beans. Instead of having the spoon of nutella I so much desire I am drinking some fennel tea. Not quite the same but way better for my tumtum!

Thanx wishes for yous comment, the pool is inside my gym and is part of the membership, so I couldn't really complain. I guess I should have asked when I saw a ton of men coming in with me!

Well, Camy - You are my absolute hero right now! ( I feel faint only thinking about blood ;) )
And Africa, WOW ... that only shows what a wonderful person You are ...
A born doctor!

Camy, I wish you all the luck in the world!!!

PS
Funniest thing is, that from the start, You reminded me of my friend (She is from Spain). You are both so full of life, somehow more colourful then the rest ha ha ah ha I'm a rather shy type myself, so I LOVE IT !!! :D

Thanks girls,
I didn't expect my diary to be in the "top 10" when I came on this ehem... afternoon. I read til 3:30 last night and the couldn't get out of bed... now I am going to go, have lunch and study study study.
I work a total of 25 hours this weekend (thursday, saturday, sunday, monday), so I better be prepared for a lot of kiddie drama! Their mom is on holidays. She is so lucky!

Anyhow I don't think I am going to exercise today, though I may take soem clothes with me, maybe at around 6 I feel like 30 mins of "Friends" and elliptical. My legs (and my body) are aching from the past few days, and I have so much to study, it is just ridiculous. The problem is that I study wrongly. Instead of spreading it out, I do everything possible in the last 2 or 3 days and then hope that I will be lucky to be asked the right 3 questions. If they don't I am screwed, but up to now I have always managed.
Anyhow, I will update later with food and drink etc... I am now drinking calcium fortufied OJ, because according to fitday I get about 11% of my recommended daily calcium intake. Don't wanna have breaky bones!
Camy

Food of the day:
Breakfast: 6 babyricecakes (they are small and for babies, these were apple flavoured, 3 of them are 20 cals, so total 40 cals), 200ml of calcium fortfied OJ (90 cals)
Lunch: ~ 400 cals of sushi
Snack: vanilla soy latte (180 cals) and gf shortbread (200 cals)
Dinner: nicoise salad (yum yum yum) (based on 1 egg, 1 tuna steak, olive oil and veggies I guestimate it to be 400 cals), 1 choc ball (70 cals)
Grand total: 1380 cals

Exercise:
100 sit ups

Studying wasn't that great either... just messed around most of the time... some days are just a waste of time!
Camy

Hey Camy, Keep up the great work. Looks like you are half way home.

ps Sushi rocks, that my lunch for tomorrow!

My brain hurts! So many things I need to know for tomorrow. I do not feel motivated to study because I feel confident, and at the same time this confidence is wrong, because I do not know a lot! Hopefully by midnight I will, and then tomorrow I will get up early and then I will know it all by 10 am when the exam starts... or at least enough to pass!
The most stupid thing is, I know what is coming up (the topics repeat every year), I have done some work on most of them, so all I really have to do is read them properly, take a few notes, try to remember the main bit. So basically the easiest part of studying, but also the boringest!

My food was a disaster, nor here nor there:
Breakfast: 1 banana, 1 kiwi, 20 grapes, herbal tea
Lunch: tomato, cucumber, carrot and tuna salad (small), some salami, couple of slices of cheese, teddybears
Snack: a lot of popcorn (the "snack period lasted from about 2 when I was finishing lunch to about 6 when I finally left work and came to the library)
Dinner: Basa (a white fish), green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, little corns, mange-tout and carrots (all of the veggies steamed and with a tad of olive oil)
Exersice:
nothing!
Tomorrow after the exam I will go (weather permitting) to play football with the band and then (because I am so close to 20 pound loss) to swim for an hour on top of it. Then the man is taking me out to celebrate the end of my exams. Poor baby, he hasn't even started his and he has 7!!
I will be so happy in 16 hours time! Hopefully!
Camy

Hi Camy

Congratulations on the weightloss and on the new BMI number.

Also on the comments about your bones sticking into your man, and you being too easily moved in bed.

Good luck for tomorrow's exam. I am sure that you will not need it though. I hope that you enjoy the end of exam celebrations.

If you are concerned about your calcium levels - it may be worth you increasing your consumption of green veg - I understand that broccoli is very good.

My multivitamin contains calcium so I get some extra calcium there too.

It is great that your man is moving in with you. You get to see a whole new side of someone when you live with someone - and you find out what it is like when you cannot get away from them when they irritate you. It is definitely a crash course in the art of compromise for both parties.

Take care
Love
Margaret

hay camy thanks for visiting my diary, i thought i would return the favour
