Burlesque Babe

Thanks.
Today wasn't too terribly bad if I don't eat anything else. I had 3 turkey 'pepperoni' sticks for lunch so not much calls there, but I did go out for supper to drown my sorrows (someone called me and threatened to sue me and verbally attacked me for a few mins before hanging up. They don't have a leg to stand on lawsuit wise, but it still was stressful and annoying to deal with)
So all my cals came from supper, which was probably a pretty high cal meal but probably was at least at or slightly below maintenance for the day.

Hey Mystic!!

I'm sure you'll get back into it soon enough. Wow at that psycho phone call you had!!! Hope you're ok, even if they don't have anything to back themselves up it's still not nice dealing with that.

What's the plan on your jacket? Have you tried it on? Can you have it let out a bit if it needs it a few weeks before your show?

Thanks. I haven't done too bad in the past couple days. Probably closer to maintenance but I don't think I've been going over.
I haven't tried it on yet.I'm sure there is some room to let it out if I can really boogie to lose as much as I can before there I think it should work. If not I'll have to try to find a super cheap jacket for that show.
I want to try to teach myself to eat more intuitively rather than just counting calories. I also want to train myself to enjoy more healthy food. Like I used to not get any veggies on my subway sandwich. Then a cute guy was working at subway one day and I felt embarrassed not getting any veggies so I got some lettuce on it. I then made myself get it a couple more times and now I even sometimes ask them to out more on! Haha. I want to do that with other veggies and such.

Today wasn't too bad.
I went out for breakfast with a friend. Normally I have a smoothy as a drink then my meal, but today I did not have the smoothy. For lunch I had an apple and a bit of farmer sausage. For supper we had taco soup, which is probably pretty high in cals, especially when you add in tortilla chips, sour cream, and cheese but it's really good. Hopefully an appropriate sized portion isn't ridiculously high in calories. Then since my brother and his family were down and my birthday is in a few days we had ice cream cake. Just one smallish piece. It was probably at least close to maintenance I would think due to the soup, eat out breakfast (ham and swiss crepe with hollandaise sauce), and the cake but it could have been much worse.
Also went sledding with my nieces and nephew so I got some exercise in walking up the hill and such.

Mmm...I love Subway. Had some on Saturday...or was it yesterday? I can't remember what happened on the weekend for the most part. But yes Subway=awesome :) Always get lots of green peppers on mine. YUM!

I can't remember the last time I went sledding but I must have been pretty young. Definitely a fun way to pass the day though!

Ya it was fun, and my dogs got some exercise running up and down the hills with me!

Today has so far been ok. I desperately need to go grocery shopping, but I'm trying to find some new recipes to make and that's really hard sometimes! And all the 'healthy' recipes have 30 ingredients, 18 of which you have never even heard of before, and you don't want to buy ALL those groceries (especially since it's fruits and veggies and stuff that will go bad quickly) for a recipe you may not even like!
But I am so low on food. Had to take alphaghetti to work today for lunch. I have a few suppers in my fridge for the next few days, and could probably bring on for lunch too if I need to.

Lol at your Subway experience!! I can only get salads there anyway cuz I can't eat bread. Funny that he said something though!!! When I saw a dietician over a year ago (had to when I found out I had to be GF) she gave me a meal plan with 2 cups of veg at every lunch and every dinner- maybe aim for something like that? Most days I do that without trying anyway, it's good that such a huge amount of veg is so low cal... makes me feel like I'm eating more haha. I use cabbage and cauliflower as extra bulk.

Hey if you're looking for an awesome healthy meal, check out crackslaw:

It's so easy, I only needed to buy a couple of the seasonings for it (like the ginger paste and sesame oil). You can really use any veg and any meat, I've even done it with bacon, broccoli and shirataki noodles and it was so good!

I have to grocery shop today too. Boo.

Cute guys working at Subway pressure you to eat veggies, cute girls working at bars pressure me to keep drinking beer. Somehow I'm getting the short end of this dynamic in terms of weight loss...

Thanks guys! I do agree MrVee that you are getting the worse end of the stick in terms of weight loss with the cute girls and drinking!
Thanks for the suggestion Luz! Sounds like that could be good!
My biggest problem is that I'm not a huge veggie fan. Really, the only veggie I like on its own is carrots. I can eat cucumber but only really with dip (and a lot of it) which isn't great calorie wise!!

I'm fairly happy with how I did today. I only had alpheghetti for lunch like I said. I got home from work early as my hard day of work ended up being a lot easier than expected and the weather was too gross to go to the barn. I really worried that that would make me snack and eat throughout the evening as I wasn't really doing anything and bored = food most of the time.
However I only ate once. I had taco soup. I had 2 half bowls so about one very full bowl. I wished I had kept it to 3/4 bowl as I imagine it's not supper low cal but since I didn't eat anything else this evening (besides 3 werthers candies when I was wanting to put something in my mouth) I think I still came out ahead!

Next time I want to eat my meals slower and not eat it while watching tv or being on the internet. If I want to eat that's all I'm going to focus on so I can listen to my body's signals.

BTW, still trying hard to get myself to exercise. During the day at work, or when it's bedtime I think about how awesome working out would feel and that I will definitely get right on that. Then the times come when I CAN workout and I just can't find the energy. Right now it's not even 9 and I feel like I could fall asleep, yet I will probably stay up till close to midnight.

Sounds like you did well with food today! I'm kind of in the same boat as far as the exercise goes...

Thanks. I'm really proud of myself today. Normally on a day when I am at home and not doing anything for so long (got home from work around 3ish) I have a near impossible time not jamming my face with food every hour. So to only eat twice today is crazy amazing. I think I will feel fairly hungry tomorrow morning as I normally eat much later into the evening than I did today (and most days I will still eat pretty late after getting back from the barn) but I will pack a good lunch to bring (making some chicken in the crockpot overnight to bring). Hoping to have the energy/gumption to go grocery shopping after work and riding tomorrow.

What is it you don't like about veges? If it's the texture you could make a huge pot of soup and blend it smooth, can really flavour it however you like too with herbs/ spices/ garlic etc etc. Then that's veg down, have some protein or something on the side and you're done! Doesn't have to be boring either, curried soups are so awesome.

If it's just ew, veges (flavour wise) then a tiny bit of butter, some garlic powder and a bit of salt n pepper and/or Italian herbs. YUM. Could also be how you are cooking your veg... like I HATE steamed cauliflower, but I love it stir fried or roasted (OMG... so many veges taste so much better roasted!)

If you really can't face them, add them as bulk to things like meat sauces, meatballs/meatloaves or casseroles... grated carrot or zucchini add no flavour, they're really good at hiding. Cooked spinach has practically no flavour when added to things too if you can get over how green it is.

I agree with luz. A lot of people dislike veggies because they don't know how to prepare them. Don't be afraid of salt, pepper, herbs, and preparing them in ways other than steaming. I LOVE roasted veggies. I prepare almost everything that way.

Thanks guys. I have been trying to find good soup recipes as I can generally eat most things in soup (not big tomato chunks).
Today was a bit of a bust. At a light lunch as usual but felt hungry on the way to the barn so picked up a bagel. Then unexpectedly at 6 a friend called me and invited me for supper and I WAY over ate, though I'm not sure WHY it felt like I ate an incredible amount.
I had a few pieces of bread, half of a big meat ball, a 6oz steak, and a very small portion of mac and cheese. Really not a ton of food for what I CAN pack away with no troubles and yet I felt stuffed to the nines! (to the point of having those "I'm too full" burps. But my friend then made me order desert too! So I went from totally stuffed, to not feeling good stuffed!

Tomorrow I am going out with my mom for lunch and gonna be a lot more conscious of what/how much I eat.

Tell your friend next time he/she makes you order dessert, you're going to take one bite and then make them wear the rest. :)

Yesterday was my mom's birthday and so I had birthday cake. IE, these things happen sometimes.

I usually just make my own soup recipes! Usually pumpkin is super cheap here so that's a bit of a go-to. I'll roast half a pumpkin, cook 1/2 a head of cauliflower (makes it creamy), then cook some leeks in a fry pan. Add it all to the same pot with salt/pepper/curry powder and blend it smooth! If you like a thinner soup you can add stock as well.

I use cauliflower as a base for several different soups, I like it in mushroom and leek as well. Broccoli and cauliflower with cheese is awesome too! Be creative!

On the bright side, you are feeling fuller without eating as much as you could have in the past -- that's a good sign. And you can make up for it the rest of the week with some good choices.
Soup is good stuff for sure. Low calories, usually and fills you up, and keeps you hydrated. Love it!

Hey guys. Sorry I have been away again. Had a bit of a hard time getting back on track after a few overly full days of eating around my bday. Still not totally sure I'm back on track but I have to be! If I want ANY chance of fitting into my show clothes come my first horse show I need to get going on this NOW! I would love to lose 16 pounds by then (10 the first month as some of that will be water weight so you usually 'lose' more at the start, and 6 the next month)
I just realized I have a schooling show coming up in 2 weeks that I might need a jacket for! Ahh! Hope not!
I have groceries in my house now, though not sure what healthy stuff I can all make with what I have.

So by March 28 (just before I leave for the show) I want to weigh about 150 (not entirely sure what I weigh now, but lets go with that as being 16 pounds down)

Didn't do too badly today. My brother and his family were down at my mom's house so I went too. All my meals were what my mom served so I could be super choosy I just tried to be mindful of serving sizes.
Had roast beef, noodles and gravy, corn, and salad for lunch. Did have a pepsi and could have cut that out. Had non-fried 'fried' ice cream for dessert but just one small serving. Waffles for supper. Wished I had had just a couple less 'triangles' (quarters) of waffles, but then didn't have any treats afterwards. And I was able to stave off eating when I got home, even though I had some good cravings. I gotta quickly come up with something to eat for lunch at work tomorrow. Granola bars are quick to grab but not the best lunch/first meal of the day.
