Burlesque Babe

MysticRealm,
Glad to see you back. Good job watching the serving sizes. You will probably need to be relentless about calories and excercise, but 16 lbs is doable by March 28th. Maybe join one of the challenges, if you haven't already. Good luck! We're here for ya!

Happy birthday for the other day!!

Do you have an older jacket you can use? Just to take the pressure off you? Just because you have such a deadline, if it were me and I could see I was falling behind my goal I'd be more likely to just say screw it and go off the rails lol. Good luck with the goal though, anything can be accomplished with a healthy dose of blood/sweat/tears!

Thanks guys. 16 pounds may sound like a lot, but I'm pretty much starting from scratch so a ton of water weight will come off. Most of my 'first month's I have lost 10 pounds just due to a lot of water weight. So if I think 10 pounds in Feb, then I only need 6 in March which is less than 2 a week.
I did however go out and buy a cheap show jacket ( I wanted to spend less than 150 and spent 142 yay!) as I need it for the show Feb 8-9 and I don't think I can hit 16 pounds lost by then!
Today is going great. Had my chicken 'casserole' for lunch which was probably a fairly 'big' lunch but nothing crazy. Then when I got home from riding I made up a bunch of ground chicken. Most went to my mexican lasagna that is in my fridge and freezer for the next few days meals. Then left some for tacos today. I had 2 tacos, but only used half a tortilla shell each. And I am currently munching on plain old whole carrots. And that will be all I eat today. Now if I could just get some exercise in!

Happy birthday young lady. Very happy to see you back on here.

Groceries and clean dishes are sort of a hidden key to making sure you stay on track.

Thank you.
Today was a great day.
Had a piece of lasagna for lunch, I was hungry after work so had 2 'pepperoni' turkey sticks.
For supper after riding I had tomato soup.
I feel a tich hungry so I might have a couple carrots.
Still tired and not getting in any exercise other than riding.

You have been doing great with the food! And glad you found a cheap jacket for the upcoming show :) 16 lbs for March is doable, but definitely not so much in 2 weeks! Even though you now have a back-up jacket for March hopefully you hit your goal and can wear the one you want instead, I think you can do it :)

I love love love Mexican lasagna. I'm willing to bet your version is much healthier than the one I eat though. My brother is the one who makes it and he always put a ridiculous amount of cheese, beans, and mean in it.

A show, huh? How often do you do them?

Thanks guys!
Ya my Mexican lasagna is pretty 'bland'. It's really just meat, salsa, pasta sauce (tomato sauce), corn, tortillas (3 total for the whole thing), and some cheese (try not to make it too much haha) I think calorie wise it's like, 400, or something per 4.5" by 4.5" piece.
I show as often as I can. Finances and other things have held me back a bit in the last couple years, but hoping to show a bit more this year.
Today was another good day eating wise.
Had a piece of lasagna for lunch, then when I got home after riding I made myself some Butternut Squash Agnoti with creamy rose sauce. I made a little more than I would have liked (I always seem to think I'm making *just* enough and it ends up being more than I think), however still easily in 'weight loss calories' I think. I ate that around 6:30 and was worried that I would just be sitting there wanting to eat for the rest of the night, but I didn't! I really hardly even thought about food. at 9 I felt a little ting of wanting to eat something so I popped a Werther's candy into my mouth and was done with it.
Again though, I was so tired that I napped for 45 mins after supper, so no exercise. I probably just need to FORCE myself to do it a couple times and get into a routine and I'm sure I would feel ok for it, but right now it just seems impossible.

It's different. Has salsa and tortilla shells and such.
Today was another great day!
Had my lasagna for lunch, then made myself mashed potatoes and a new chicken recipe for supper. It was quite good. Delicious actually!
It's a little scary not knowing my calories, but with only eating 'normal' meals (not snacking all day long) I think it's much easier to eat 'whatever' in ok portions and stay in my calories. I still pay attention to them a little, like when looking for new recipes, or if I can have a larger serving as cals per portion are low, but I'm not tracking them.
So far though the scale has dropped by over 3 pounds (thank you water weight!) since monday so I think I'm decently on track. I will let the scale and the fit of my clothes be my guide. As I get closer to my goal I may need to be more mindful of cals, but right now I think I'm happy doing what I'm doing.
Still no exercise though :( Hard day of work though so that at least burns a little bit.
Tomorrow is my first 'official' weigh in since I got re-back on track, as well as my first weigh in for "February Fit" in the challenge area.

Mexican "Lasagne" sounds delicious. It seems like you are getting back on track Mystic- doing well! Cheers, xo Cate

Great job, Mystic! Congrats on the lost weight and getting back on track calorie wise. I am like you; I have an idea of around what my calorie intake should be, so I'm not precise, but it keeps me roughly on target. Now get some exercise!! :) Try just five minutes, and if it feels ok, go for more.

P.S. The Mex lasagna sounds good! And hope you get to keep showing this year. I would think that riding burns some calories.

Thanks. Riding burns a bit, but not like a 60 min run would, or intense things like 30DS. My body is very used to riding as well, though I'm changing things up a bit with my new instructor not enough to be sore of anything.

Today was another good day. Finished off my lasagna for lunch, and had my same supper as yesterday cause I enjoyed it so much. Had a cream soda at a friend's place but that should easily fit within my cals. Rode but no other exercise.
This weekend has a few things happening.
A: Tomorrow morning I ride my horse for the last time at the barn he's currently at, then pack up all my things, load them, and trailer him to his new barn.
B: POSSIBLY going to an open house tomorrow. I really would like to get a new (large breed) puppy someday in the relatively near future. I want to get one before my mini poodle gets too old, as a large breed puppy and small breed elderly dog aren't often a good mix. However I live in a 'one small-medium sized dog allowed' condo with no yard.
C: Friend's party, where I'm sure there will be lots of temptation. I don't plan on not having anything, but trying to be a bit smarter about it. Taking a small handful of chips, then passing the bag on/not sitting near it at all times, one pop, that kind of thing. I will probably not eat till after I get back from moving my horse around 1:30 or 2. Something hopefully not too much in calories, then have something very filling before going, maybe tomato soup, that always makes me feel very full.
D: Pizza at my mom's house on Sunday. Again it will probably be the first thing I eat, around 12:30, I can only ride at 4 tomorrow so will get back home around 5:30ish, then make a light supper. Maybe snacking on carrots in the evening if needed. I probably won't be overly careful with the pizza, just try to take breaks between bites to be able to tell easier if I'm getting full, but I don't mind one meal being a little high cal in the week, even if it puts me closer to maintenance calories for that day.

Today didn't go quite as well as I had hoped. First off, had a lot of complications with my horse trailer/hitch situation in -20 temperatures (not including wind chill). So when we had to go into town at 12:30 we stopped at Starbucks and I got a hot chocolate and coffee cake. I also had had some pepperoni sticks earlier. Then when we finally! Got it all done and I got home(close to 4) I had a full bag of light popcorn and 2 granola bars. Then went to my friend's party and had 3.5 Pepsi cans and too much snacks.
This means I will have to be more mindful tomorrow. Maybe I will make myself tomato soup tomorrow instead of having pizza, then I can still have perogies for supper. Very tired. Must go to sleep now!

I didn't know you rode! (Admittedly, I haven't read your entire diary) I rode for 7 years before I started college, then I couldn't afford to do it anymore since I couldn't stay at the barn I was riding at who were letting me ride in exchange for working there a couple night a week. I haven't ridden in 5 years and I miss it so much. I think about it every other day and can't wait until I'm in the financial situation to be able to afford it.

I wouldn't worry about the food. It was one day and circumstances out of the ordinary.

Ya, I've been riding for about 16 years now.
Today was a much better day. I skipped the pizza and had tomato soup (which I didn't even end up finishing), went and rode my horse at the new barn which went well. My mom had made perogies for supper, and I was starving by that point. I definitely ate a big portion of them, but since I hadn't had much calories for the day I don't think it was bad, even with a small desert of non fried fried ice cream. Probably right around weight loss cals I would think.

Not the recipe we use, but just to show you roughly what perogies are. We also make gravy with what's left in the pan after frying.
Today was a pretty good day.
Work was fairly slow. Only 4 dogs.
For lunch I had a pita bread with hummus as I have no more meat left in my house and didn't make hard boiled eggs in time before bed so it was all I had to quickly grab together.
Got home from work around 4 (weather was bad so I didn't go ride) and was feeling pretty hungry. I looked at the light popcorn I had and was very surprised that the calorie count seems to be less than 300 cals for the entire full sized bag!! So I had a bag of popcorn.
For supper I had the last chicken breast left in my freezer and did that cream cheese/dijon mustard/brown sugar recipe, and some mashed potatoes.
Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day. I'm not working as the farrier (person who trims and shoes my horse's feet) is coming to do my horse and the new barn doesn't bring in for the farrier. Then after that I am loading my horse up in the trailer and taking him to school (jump around) at another barn. Jumping at a new place with different jumps is good preparation for shows. However it's going to be freezing outside (-21 is the high I think and possibly some snow) and it's going to be my first time ever trailering my horse all by myself. Yikes!

Out of curiosity I entered what I ate today into MFP to see my true calorie count for the day at it was right around 1400-1500 so I'm pretty happy with that.
