Great work on the exercise. The evening grazing is hard to do. I like having pickles on hand as there's not too many calories in them but they give you idea you're eating.

Great job with all the exercise! Usually when I am fairly on track I have an easier time with being ok about food and a harder time getting off my butt and exercising!

Your enthusiasm is contagious, Brawny! Every time I read your posts, I'm like damn! I want to go for a ride or a run then I remember I'm already lying in bed in my pjs! Keep going!

Speaking of lying in bed...minor setback...Im sick. Or I was...about over it now. 3 days no exercise. But instead of letting it de-rail me. I actually cant wait to exercise again. Gonna try a bike ride tonight and see how I do.

Come now Brawny, you have to get better! I've started talking to myself....
In all seriousness, rest up, get better than back into the saddle!!!

Hope you are feeling better! What an awesome thing to crave exercise and kudos on those exercise numbers for July! :cheers2:

I'm back and I'm well! My internet was broken and I had to wait till payday to fix it! Just got it going again! Will post more tomorrow!

Internet sputtering but working! It might have been the sledge hammer I used while working on it lol.

Not so great on my plan. Must refocus. Kinda lost my motivation after I was sick. I better get a little resolve built up

I haven't been on this site in 2 or 3 years. I almost made up a new name and started over but decided to just face the music.
Quick history- back in 2009 I weighed in at 332. I lost like 60 lb. A lot of people on here helped me with encouragement... I vowed to never get over 300 again....and for a2 or 4 years I would jump from the 260s to the 290s...Then very slowly the pounds crept back on. Today I am at 312.

So here I go again. I have crawled back on my exercise bike and managed to ride 7 times in the last 11 days. I started at 10 minute (pretty pitiful) and did 19 minute this morning.
I was an athlete in college (long time ago) and I find it revolting that I am not in better physical condition but I am also heartened that even though my 51 year old body is out of shape. It still seems to respond. And unlike a lot of people, I actually like exercise. Why I haven't done it more regularly I need to analyze but I actually look forward to rising early drinking a cup of coffee and getting on my stationary bike. I like the way I feel when I get done.
So time for goals.
1. Lose 10 lb in Sept. Thats a pound every 3 days which is roughly a 1200 calorie a day deficit. I will do this by combining diet and exercise.
2. Ride my bike 100 miles in Sept. I am almost up to 5 miles a pop now so this should be easy especially if I get up to 30 minutes a session like I hope to gradually
3. Reduce my blood sugar levels (yep I am diabetic and I need to get it under better control or it will kill me)
4. No fast food (none) for 100 days
5. Plan my menus for the week
6. Lose 100lb in a year (dreaming pretty big on this one but hey even if I get half of it I win)
7. Write in this diary several times a week. Help others and accept help

Pass the carrot sticks please

Gonna move back in here on my old thread. Thanks to those who have welcomed me back.
Time to string a few good days and weeks together

Hey, brawny! Welcome back! (It's 8.15am here in Aus). I'm glad you used your old username & diary. I think it's important for everyone, including yourself, to be able to read back over how you felt & what you did before. All of us have plenty to learn. The main thing is you're back & you're about to get yourself back on track.

Well some pretty good news. Today is one week since I "officially weighed in "again" Last Friday I was 311.8. This morning I was 306.8. That is a much better first week than I was anticipating although I did actually start exercising almost 2 weeks ago.
So I have exercised 8 days out of the last 12. I am back up to 20 minutes on the bike. I do not feel much sense of accomplishment because I am re-losing weight I have lost before but I do feel I am getting a little traction and determination.
