He steps up to the microphone:
Tap tap...is this thing on?
Ladies and gentlemen. I claim a small victory in the war between me and the scale!
Brawny has lost 2 pounds!
Now he shifts into Elvis voice:
Thank ya uhhh thank ya vury much!
I'm just a hunka hunka burning love!

Walked 70 minutes and 3.75 miles today. Chose walking because my butt was sore from the 2 days in a row of long bike rides. Got really drenched in sweat but felt really cleansed after a shower.
Ate about 2000 calories today because of a family holiday dinner at my moms. Still should be well In to the loss zone for the day. I think I will walk tomorrow as well to give the ol booty one more day to rest.
Just stringing a few good days together!

Comment I overheard from an old lady riding a stationary bike for the first time in ages (after knee surgery): "Ouch, it´s a good thing my husband is no longer alive."

So so true Lamaria. I have been thinking about riding a real on road bike with my sons then I look at that little seat and say to myself...maybe when I loose 20 more..haha

Yesterday I took a day off. Had to go to a family wedding and oh yeah I mowed on the riding lawn mower for 3 hours. But today I crawled back in the saddle, or actually strolled back on the track. Walked 4 miles in 77 minutes. It was a pretty hot one. Sweated like..well...like a fat boy...which is pretty much what I am but I am a motivated fat boy . In July I have biked 39 miles and walked 7.75 miles...one confession...I had a piece of wedding cake and it was pretty damn good too!

Sweating buckets here while sitting down eating breakfast and it isn´t even hot, just awfully grosly humid. Will pass.

Thanks for the encouraging words my friends. They help more than you know! And a special welcome back to my buddy From the land down under wannabe sexy . Sure was nice to see you reappear! I have pulled that same disappearing stunt a couple of times myself and I realized I did better when I was checking in on here.
Well guys...it's hot ain't it?...sure would be easy to sit in the AC and eat twinkies wouldn't it? But no we have come too far to let up now. It's still the same ol track. I just sweat more.
Anyway my stationary bike is in the AC of my office at home and that's what I did tonight. 1 hr. 16.25 miles. Legs are sore but it's a good sore. May need mrs Brawny to rub em for me. Maybe I can get some sympathy!

Calorie report for the day-1550

Wish I had some tacos and beer

My apologies for that brief weak moment above. Could someone pass me some celery?

Aaaaawwww! Thanks for having me back. I've missed your sense of humour.....tacos, beers and twinkies replaced by celery sticks! Hahaha Not that we have twinkies here but beer, plenty of that here. I'm going to look to you to keep me on track. We got this!

Ooo, airconditioned training facilities! I AM jealous... But hey, this way I have to conquer my fear of getting into swimming gear in public, that probably serves a purpose too. Anyway: thanks for bombing my diary :)

Thanks verobc and your welcome Lamaria. You never know when the positive bombs will strike! Lol

Well back on the bike tonight. I rode 17.09 miles in an hour. Sounding pretty repetitive in here but really isn't that what we gotta do? String several days together into weeks and months. I have been back at this for a couple of months now and I do notice change here is my list ( it's pretty short)
I am at about 20lbs total loss since the restart
I am at or just about at a 15 year low in weight
I have reclaimed two belt holes
I can walk briskly or ride a stationary bike for over an hour
I am sleeping better
My diabetes numbers have improved ( still not enough but some)

Small but tangible changes

Any positive change in diabetes data is a big change, also sleeping better and being able to work out are major changes. But you´re certainly right about one thing: working on just one day at the time. I think I was starting to forget that and get impatient/fed up.

Great words to live by. Stringing days into weeks into months. One day at a time. This is something I forget too often. Congrats on your well earned changes!! Might need a new belt soon if you keep going at this rate.

Well done Brawny! I think we all need reminding that if we "String several days together into weeks and months" and then years -eating well, exercising, making more good choices than bad, then we get to where we want to be. It does not happen overnight, that's for sure, but we will get there!

Took yesterday off from exercise and ate about 2500 calories when I was shooting for 1500. Not even really sure how I did that. Just kinda let my guard down. Oh well I am paying for it today. I walked for 4.5 miles in 86 minutes and am being light on the eating today.
