Wishing you luck to get to your mini goal by Thanksgiving (when is that for you united statesians?). A 15 yr low would be awesome!!
 
Ah, I would be absolutely STOKED if I could lose a lb a week! Good job on the loss!! Lol when is Thanksgiving? I wouldn't have a clue...

The fourth Thursday in November in the US (I think Canada has already had theirs, they're so impatient).

Hahaha am I going to get attacked for saying that I absolutely cannot STAND the taste of turkey? I've tried it so many ways... for some reason, I see it, my brain thinks chicken, then when I taste it instead of thinking TURKEY, I just think chicken that tastes wrong, possibly off lol. I am pretty funny with meat though sometimes!

Not impatient - practical. If they waited until November, the turkey would never thaw.

Has it been 3 months since I posted? Wow...where has that time gone...
When will I ever realize that I need to post on here?
Well good news and bad news since I last posted.
Good news- I have not gained any weight...was 280 this morning.
Bad News- I have not really lost any weight, my exercise has been spotty and my diabetes has gotten worse.

I have exercised 3 days in a row now so I maybe getting into a better roll.
Working on a new 1 month kickstart plan to get me going again.
At least this time Im not re-losing 20 lbs.
 
Welcome back big man! Good news that you haven't gained any, anyhow. Bad news is I'm right on your tail now. Time to step it up. :)

Getting focused
My diabetes has gotten bad enough that my regular Dr sent me to a specialist. After being poked and prodded and drained, and wearing a glucose monitor for 3 days I was informed that my pancreas is still working (thought it might have shut down completely) but my bodys sensitivity to insulin is bad. How do you increase you sensitivity to insulin?...Weight loss and exercise is about all I can do. He is putting me on new meds but I have decided that I absolutely must, must must get at least 50 lbs off. Its getting down to a life saving decision. I cant walk around with a 300 blood sugar like I have been for the past 2-3 months. Eventually that will kill me. So the plan for starters
Exercise for 15-20 minutes twice a day 5 days a week (Thats about all I can tolerate right now)
Eat about 1500 calories a day (maybe go to 1800 when my exercise gets up)
Log in here everyday or almost every day. (This site helps)
Lose 2-3lbs a week
Be at 230 by the end of June (thats 2.5lb per week)
It sounds so simple doesnt it?

Sorry to hear about the medical issues, but you seem to be on top of them which is always good. Sometimes we need that little extra scare as motivation to get us to do what we want to do. Wish we didn't, but unfortunately...
 
Now for a deep thought from Brawny (pay attention because they dont happen very often).......I went back to the thread from when I started posting on here. It was the first week of Jan 2009 and I started on the newcommer thread. Do yall realize most of those who were posting then are long gone from this place? Even the people who started this January are about gone. I mean that so describes me so many other times...Start hard for a few days maybe a few weeks drop 5, 10 maybe even 20 and then.....wham...off the wagon for whatever reason. I got a lot of reasons that I let derail me in the past, an injury...I got sick so I couldnt exercise for a few days...I couldnt pass up that good food at the superbowl party...I didnt have time to fix anything healthy so I will just hit the drive through....(Yall know don't you?) Then it would be well I will start back up tomorrow...then it would be I will start back up someday....Well I'm standing here right here right now to tell you that THE ROAD CALLED SOMEDAY LEADS TO A TOWN CALLED NOWHERE!!! I am shakin the dust of that town off my feet and I am very glad and thankful to have had the encouragement of some of you cool people. Now is the time and this is the place.
Okay deep thought now over. Back to dumb jock mentality...!
