YAY your back :)

YOU can do this Brawny, the weight loss is achievable and in the process you can give the diabetes a good kick in the teeth :)

Awesomenessssss :)
Here is a thought i shared the other day with someone - I think it's totally cool:
Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. the time will pass anyway.

Good luck!! I ll be here for a while too... :)

Glad to see you back, though I am sorry your health isn't where you would like. But I know you can lose the weight and be/feel healthier!!

Get your head right and your body WILL follow! Anything is possible when you make enough little changes.

Exercised again this morning Two days in a row! I have eaten about 200 calories too much so far so I only have about 600 left for the day. I can make that work but I gotta get my head around that because evenings are when I really want to eat. Gonna really have to stay laser beam focused. I am gonna want to "slip up" about 7 tonight but Im gonna have to fight through that...can't screw up this early.

I did almost all my overeating at night. I would still get super hungry in the evenings when I started to watch my calories. I intentionally started increasing my food at lunch, having a light dinner, and then doing my exercise at night to distract me from my appetite. It really sucked, but only for a couple of days. Now it's just how it is and I feel better at night and sleep better. I was really surprised how quick the adjustment went as I'd been sedentary and pigging out at night for a long time.

Good luck Brawny!

The way i used to deal with overeating (back when i still did kcal counting) is doing more exercise.
Like once I was binging out on tortilla wraps (without anything in them) - I finished a whole pack - 800kcal!!
I went to the gym and I didn't get off the elliptical until i burnt those extra calories.
Then taught me a lesson lol.

Good luck!

Good job on the exercise today! I am the same way as you. I need to leave calories in the evening and so I really plan my days that way! I hate eating too much during the day!

3days of working out and I already noticed a bit more stamina! eating going well today as long as I don't cave in between now and bed time...think I'm gonna go take a hot bath...I'm a bit sore from workouts and last time I checked, baths were non caloric
Pass the Irish spring with the manly scent please.

My worst time is also after supper and bed time - then I get the nibblies for all forbidden food. But hot bath is the best remedy - non caloric, as you say.

Great job on the workouts!

Thanks to all you guys for the words of encouragement. I really look forward to seeing new posts....we all need to stick together on this deal.

4 Days of exercise in a row. Still not going really long but inching up. The initial soreness is fading now. That hot bath last night helped.

Ok a small rant....Here it comes...ready?....It sucks that now that I am in my late 40s my metabolism has really dropped. I used to be able to really shed pounds quickly in my younger years if I needed to. It was no big deal to lose 5 or more lbs a week if I was eating 1500-1800 calories a day and working out. Now I would be glad to see 2lb a week....Crap!....
Okay rant over....pass the carrot sticks please

Hey a loss is a loss - take it as it comes. But I know what you mean, I'm late 30's and since after 35 it's like a switch gets triggered in the metabolism dept saying no more easy weight loss for you.... but as long as my scale moves down I'm quite cool with that.

5 days in a row on the bike now....Hey that doesnt sound quite as silly as 2,3 or 4 does it? Could it be I am almost on a roll? We shall see what weigh in says Monday morning.

Ate a bit too much yesterday but did extra bike time today and so far today I am spot on.

I have ridden (rode? spun? pedaled? occupied with vigor?) my bike 8 out of 9 days now. Only saw a 1.2lb loss last week. I am a little bummed with that number but I guess I must be happy with any loss and learn that it is not gonna just roll off me like it used to. Still if I keep after it I think I can do better than that.

Quote for valintines-Thought for the day: Men are like fine wine.. They start out as grapes, and it's up to the women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
