A new start for MommyOf2!!

OOOOOOH! Now I get it. Duh!! Silly me.

OK - I did something that I always tell folks not to do: I went from breakfast (my regular Kashi and coffee - although,HH, I have switched it up which I'll have to tell you about) to 3:00 when I finally ate lunch. Ugh! Every other day I've made myself a nice, healthy sandwich and taken it to work w/ me. Today I went completely nuts! I just had so much work to do and got all caught up. Then I had a bagel and cream cheese and a mocha freeze drink - I felt awful. And I'm still a bit hungry!

Oh well - I learned a lesson. Always have that sandwich! But now I'm free from work for the entire summer! I am scheming for a new job, though. It's so scary! I just keep tossing and turning and I think it's for the best. We'll see.

OH - HH - I switched up my Kashi breakfast. I tried the regular Kashi Go-Lean (fewer calories/fat more protein). Well, it tastes pretty crappy! so I mix it w/ the one I love so much and it's working pretty well for me. Hee hee! I knew you'd appreciate a Kashi update.

Laruel, I know exactly what you mean about eating things you haven't eaten for a while. Its like I have to eat something I "bad" every now and then to "remind" myself that I have to be careful  Hey, look on the bright side! You ate the fruit at the first BBQ instead of chips and corn instead of other bad stuff;)

Nutty Buddy and I can COMPLETELY understand the slow mind thing, can't we Nuthead?! LOL We have PB for brains! :D (We just have to be careful we don't accidentally ingest any or we get to feeling ill! ) :p:D LOL

Make sure you keep you lunches closer to your breakfasts from now on :D LOL The hungrys DO tend to go crazy after a while! LOL

Good luck in you job "debate". That is always a bummer.

I didn't like the Kashi Go Lean either. It was kinda like chewing Hard cardboard - you know, no flavor and too much chew? LOL I DO like the Kashi Pilaf though! I cook a whole pouch and then measure it out and freeze it so that I only have to nuke it for a few minutes and add dried fruit and nuts :Dmmmmm Now that my taste buds are hoppin' I may have to make some tonight for tomorrow! LOL

Have a great day Laurel! :D

I wonder what kind of Kashi I have? It's the box that shows the blueberries on it. I didn't really like it much so it has just been sitting there. I won't gripe at you for going so long after breakfast before eating again, since it is obviously not a habit! ;)

Now I love the one with blueberries on the box. It's this other one that just doesn't taste like anything. So I combine them since the other is a tad bit healthier. I'm waiting for my 2 year old to stop asking for a bite! I try to give her the bites that have all the yucky tasting one.

Oh I need one of you to motivate me!!! I have no excuse not to go to the gym - none whatsoever. Yet here I sit! I've just got to get up. Put on my gym clothes. Say good-bye and GO!!!!!!!!! ERgh!

OK - I'll do it. You've motivated me without saying a thing. I can just hear you two!

Lol! That is so funny! I should be saying shame on you, but I know exactly what you are talking about! ;)

Yes, you better go to the gym! I'm glad you could hear that motivation coming even before we said it! Lol! :D

Here I am to tell you "MOVE IT! MOVE IT! MOVE IT!!!" Just like one of those drill sargants...although I am doing it from my kind and positive heart:p !! You are doing so well, and after camping the past few days I need some motivation too...so I will take my own advice and put it to work:rolleyes: , as long as you do too:p !

Hi all!
Yes I DID go to the gym! Your motivation worked - even if I didn't read until after I'd gone. The Sat. teacher is a bit more laid back, so in order to get a kickass workout, I have to push myself. But I did! And I had a great workout! Today I'm super sore. I swam on Sat. and Sun.
So Today is the first day of my 10 weeks off work! I hope I survive being all alone w/ my children all day long! My poor husband. He'll be getting that 5:00 call every day: "Are you leaving yet???? We neeeeed you!!!" He loves it! When we're not here when he gets home, he gets sad and feels like he's not needed.
I don't know about you guys, but each time circumstances in my life change, I have to really focus on how I'm going to keep working toward my goals despite the changes. Does that make sense? I'd still like to lose another 5-6 lbs. adn I certainly don't want to gain any.
Thanks for stopping by, everyone!

Hmm...I love Kashi...

For some reason (maybe it's the humidity where I live) the clumps in the higher-calorie one tend to stick together in bigger clumps...

I don't eat it usually for breakfast, my brother does, but if I have a craving for something or just want to chew something, I usually grab one of the clumps and munch away....voila! The craving's gone

Anyway, really enjoying your diary MommyofTwo - good luck with the 10 weeks/kids! :p

Oh do I understand! My hubbie is a union plumber and every year about February he gets laid off. We never know how long...sometimes weeks sometimes months. He may work a few weeks here, a few weeks there in between. Well, this year he has been out of work since February and he is still home!!!!!! Well, this is great because it allows me to get up whenever I want to go for a run because he is here with the kids. Well, it sounds as if he will be going back to work next week...which means if I want to get an AM workout in I have to do it at about 5 am :( !!! I am NOT an early Am person...and I need my sleep, and I like to stay up until about 11pm. So I am kinda freakin out a bit, worried I won't be able to keep up on the distance i have been running and the workouts EVERY morning. NERVOUS! So lets keep checking in on each other and trying to help each other stay on track....we can do it!!!

I know what you mean. I always really want time off in the summer where I can just stay home, but then after a week or two, I'm going stir crazy! Lol! You are going to make your goal before the summer is over, I know you will! :D

OK - so I get on the scale today. The old-fashioned kind. I'm RIGHT THERE at 150. I so badly want to bump the thing from "150" to "100"!! So you can actually get 150 while the thing is on 100 b/c it just means the top thingy is all the way to the right. Does this make any sense??? So I do it! Up until today, I've been 150 and a "smidge". Today I am firmly at 150 - yay!!!! HOpefully, next time, I'll be 149? Maybe?? And eventually down to 145. I sure feel skinny - my pants are falling off!
Today I did my work-out using 6 lb. weights. A defin ite challenge for me. A friend is going to start working out w/ me and she wanted to use 1 lb weights - my teacher (not Pierre) said, "My lips can lift this one lb weight!" and she demo'd a "lip lift" of a 1-lb. weight. Probably one of those "you had to be there" stories, but it was pretty hilarious if you can imagine it.
In any case, I did the entire work-out w/ 6 lbs. I'm going to be in some serious pain tomorrow, but I feel good about it.
I'm heading out of town this weekend. My goal? Not to eat too much and to work in a walk or maybe a run or even a bike ride every day I'm gone. Yay!
Thanks for the support!

Congratulations on the great work out! That is funny about the 1 pound weight lip lifting! Lol! :D Woo hoooo on pants falling off! :D ;)

Hi! Well, I've had a good day so far. I was watching a neighbor child so I successfully reinforced my decision not to have a third child! God - it's a lot of work. Did an hour of Kickboxing. Eating ok, although yesterday I had Coke for the first time in a year. Wasn't even that good.

Anyhow, I'm going on vacation this weekend. Any tips for staying good on vacation?

Oh I was so bad last night! We are going to this family wedding this weekend and I kept asking the relatives what I could do to help out wiht all the stuff this weekend (aside from teh wedding itself). They kept saying, "Oh nothing!" But I can't just show up empty-handed, right?? So last night I bakes my signature choc chip cookies (hadn't baked them since I started dieting last July). Ugh! I ate soooooo many of them!!!!!!!!! I'm so bad. I hadn't eaten anything bad during the day, in fact I was way under points. But still! Absolutely NO self control. The rest are going straight to my cousins!

You don't want a third? Oh, come on now, they are so much fun! Especially when they are so much younger than the first two! Bad girl for eating those cookies! ;)

Oh we all have bad days...chalk it up as a lesson and move on! Start today as a fresh new day with determination to be good! I know you can do it!!!

Hi all! I'm finally back. We came back early actually. Ugh! What a long weekend. Have you ever been at a wedding that you just didn't put a lot of hope for producing a long, happy marriage? So sad!
I did OK. Not as well as I'd like to have done, but better than I could've done. On Friday, I was amazing! I had a salad for lunch and a super healthy fish taco for dinner. Yay! I did eat some cookies, though. On Sat., I did have 3 slices of pizza for dinner. Pancakes for breakfast. Skipped lunch altogether which led me to snack a bit. Very bad! On Sunday, I was ok. Lunch and breakfast were ok, then dinner was soup and salad. I might have eaten a bit much in the quantity department. Oh well! Today is a new day, this is a new week. A week from today, I start group personal training which will blast me into gear. We weigh in each Monday, turn in a food diary, etc. Should be an eye-opener.
I hope everyone is doing fine!

Hey MO2!!

Great to hear from you. Big hugs for you. I have been to weddings were I was betting on how long they'd last! Terrible, I know. But sometimes you can just tell. And my bet wasn't far off, because that couple is now divorced. So sad...

Sounds like you did ok this past weekend. It is so tough eating well on the road. I give you props girl!! SB is nice, isn't it? Way overpriced. I haven't been to the zoo here yet. Last time I went to a zoo, some of the animals looked so miserable it depressed me. It was a hot day though, so perhaps the polar bears were not feeling it.

I'm leaving SB this Friday. Going to move up to the San Francisco area. I'm going to be in the south bay mostly, but I have family in SF, and up in Napa so I'll be all over. And yes, it is expensive up there, but I got a great deal at my sister and her husbands house. They know I'm a broke recovering student, so i only have to pay 300 bucks. yeah baby, yeah!!

Ok, looks like you are back on track today and so am I! Let's work it this week!!!
